Easter
Why didn't Anet put up an announcement about Easter? I thought there just wasn't an event this weekend. So, I log on to Guild wars this after noon and PvE (I normally PvP) and it turns out eggs were dropping but I had no idea. Anet should extend Easter because there was no announcement. My friends and I had no idea Easter stuff was dropping so I didn't farm which I would've been doing if I would've known.

1. maybe they were going for the irony of the eggs being a hunt so you had to find them.
2. I think all their focus is on the end of the month for the week long celebration of new stuff and drops.

pretty obvious there would be an easter event, theres one every year and since youve been a member on here since 2006, you should know that.
you want anet to put an announcement up when its time to eat, sleep and change your nappy too?

I am Muslim, I don't follow the Christian holy calendar. I don't mind the Easter event I would just like to be alerted about it.

I agree that Easter should be extended also, My entire alliance was doing Jade Quarry because we thought that they were not going to do an Easter drop weekend due to the lack of log in announcement.

I don't really see why they need to put an announcement. I mean with all of the trading going on about the Easter drop Items it can't be hard to notice, even if you do play PvP most often. Also, Guild Wars 4th birthday is coming up so there's going to be more drops then too. If you really want some Easter drops buy em and stop complaining on forums.

I sit in my guild hall or HA waiting for GvG or HA. Not much trading of Easter Eggs goes on in my guild hall, does trading go on in yours? I only come out to PvE to farm festival stuff or vanquish. I VERY rarely vanquish, I'm just lucky I decided to vanquish. Why would an announcement make it better if I planned on just buying them?

I completely agree that they should extend the drops due to no announcement. While it may happen every year, it is also accompanied by an announcement saying there will be special drops. I also did JQ today instead of VQ'ing because I didn't think there were any special drops for this weekend.

As you post here on the forum, you really have no excuse for not knowing it is easter. As there have been easter threads for the last few weeks.
If you never even heard of Guru and only relied on the GW website or announcements for updates, then you'd have a valid point.....but you don't.

as much as I think all religions are horrible constructs of regressive mankind, the anti muslim sniping is pretty distaseful.
that aside, it's sloppy that anet didn't post this. Yes it's expected (for veteran forumites who know this happens every year) but for more casual players, it's an important announcement. I chalk it up to sloppiness and oversight, hopefully a one time event

This is not only for me, I caught on early but this is mainly for other people that aren't as fortunate as me who my esteemed friend "Stop the Storm" pointed out to me.

Yeah, the lack of an announcement is an "oops" on A-Net's part. It's not a given that everyone who plays GW would know that today is Easter for Christians. And it's not a given that everyone who is registered on Guru checks the forums every day & reads every simgle post. Heck, it's not even a given that people read the announcements on the log-in screen! hehe

Well, you guys are all lucky. I am leaving for Cornwall in like an hour so I can't farm at all today. However I got 3 stacks yesterday and traded them for 275k in cash, which I traded for 55 ectos and 50k. Got my Everlasting Abyssal Tonic Back to crafting Consets

All of you are failing to see the point he is trying to make.
Him being Muslim has absolutely nothing to do with Easter event on Guild Wars.
Point 1:He wanted to know why there was no announcement.
Point 2:He would like an extension or at least have Easter next weekend due to the lack of an announcement
My points
Point 1: New players may not know about Easter event
Point 2: Just because he is Muslim doesn't mean he should not be included in Guild wars events.
Point 3: Some people would have gotten on had they known this weekend was Easter, but figuring there was no event they just simply didn't get on.
Not trying to be rude to anyone, just simply tired of silly comments being put on his thread.
Also I do think there should be an extension. (More bunnies and eggs for all )

Why the hell are ye all hung up on the fact that he is muslim? He's just saying that's reason he didn't know it was easter (as well as lack of ingame announcements)
and how many of you could tell me you nkow when easter is off the top of your heads?
I couldn't, but since this is the only event I farm I made a point to make sure i knew it and had gw all ready (havn't palyed in a while).
So a redux does seem like a good possibility

Anet slipped up and missed making an announcement for one of the biggest drop-events ingame, and yet you think he is to blame himself??
What matters if there have been posts on guru about it or not? Why does he need to have a "valid point"? Its pretty obvious Anet screwed up yet again..
I really really fail to see your logic...
PS FIY not all christians celebrate Easter at this time. Orthodox dont.
That being said, I dont see Easter drops getting extended. Sorry mate

by far one of the most intelligent comments posted on guru on the topic of religion and GW. thank you for this.
on topic, i DO agree and i think the event SHOULD be extended b/c of aNets fail in lack of a comment on the log-in screen.
