GWs ban system is mostly automated (they have like 8 guys working on the live team they cannot afford to do it themselves) so they will get people incorrectly often. Send in a support ticket and 9 times out of ten they will return your account.

That is easy. You can do that in factions so darn easy. You can get to level 10-12 and get to kc doing the bare minimum. Then buy 2-3 scrolls and punchout in gwen in under 4 hours. I just did it on my mesmer.

Dont be surprised at anything.
I still find the ultimate ROFFLEZ was when a couple of guys accidentally duped some item and reported to ANET, in order to get it fixed.Got them banned tho. Thats some serious brainpower
Its getting more ridiculous every single day

I am trying to work with support to resolve this. I only include this message as a warning to any others chest running in this area (I was in Eng 1 district).
Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place.

Hope you get your account back!
Seems a bit shortsighted of a mod to think you were botting doing something that is a guarenteed way of losing money!
It's more likely that you triggered some automated system that looks for bot like behaviour, and as that area only has a very limited range of spawns, then you would be repeating the same actions time after time.
I did about a few hundred Fronis chests, but got too bored of it to keep it up for long myself.
Good luck!

I see what you did there. That is the truth, Bots in FA must have asylum or something.

I ran about 500-700 chests a week in irontoes lair to max my title, I didn't get banned for it. Were you doing something else? Using a drunk bot? Anything?

I can confirm that they ban accounts without any proof, only that yout account was playing too long in one area over a period of time.
I know this as a fact. I was farming on amatz basin with just h/h on a separate account on another computer, while I did ABs etc on my main. all it involved doing was entering the mission and flagging the heros once every 15 minutes. For this, they banned the account for 3rd party program use - even though if they checked, they could see I was at the main computer (which is next to the other) during all the time doing ABs/mision etc.
So just because anet ban you, do not let them get away with it - I know I am not and you may hear about it in the near future....

Sounds to me like the typical sh!tty code for an email spam filter, which in the best cases is about 97% accurate.
Should be a flag set, which then requires actual *inspection*. I highly doubt there's inspection, tho.

Do you realize how many people are needed to check on the hundreds of thousands of possible flags each day???? It can never ever work like that..

That is not what happened. Two forum members tested the method to determine how the duping was done(it wasn't accidental), filed a report with ANet with their findings, then deleted the duped items(red dye, I believe). ANet used the information they provided to automatically scan and block users using the exploit, including the two who reported it. They then manually unblocked those two.
We only have the OP's side of this story, and details are vague at best. Since the OP has already contacted support, there's nothing much to see here.

Also the reporters didn't specify their character names when they reported, so Gaile had to get their names after the banning - otherwise they probably wouldn't have been banned at all.

Looking back through the threads, it appears they were likely banned for less than 6 hours. Certainly Enko was only banned for 3-4 hours, based on thread creation time to when he states his accounts were reinstated. Fenix was likely reinstated shortly after he sent his details through. And yes, Gaile states they didn't have their IGNs or anything (whether you believe her, up to you).
