Sniper Support Question
OK I have no idea where this belongs. I know that it is a skill un Eye of the North but it did not look like it belongs there. I then looked at Builds and found that the professions were listed but not specific skills associated with "titles".
So my question is...
Can a Warrior use this skill?
Piercing damage is the type of physical damage inflicted by most bows and spears, as well as many daggers and pets and several axes and hammers.
Sniper support does Piercing damage, so maybe you have to use an axe to use it????? I'm not really sure.
Can I still run my war necro secondary?

Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support
Spell. Target foe is struck for 54...90 piercing damage and begins Bleeding for 5...25 seconds. This attack has a 10% chance of doing an additional +540...900 piercing damage. If this attack hits a Charr it has a 25% chance of doing an additional +540...900 piercing damage.
Concise description
Spell. Deals 54...90 piercing damage and inflicts Bleeding condition (5...25 seconds). 10% chance of +540...900 piercing damage. 25% chance of +540...900 piercing damage if target foe is a Charr.
Notes
- This is the only Spell that inflicts physical damage.
- This can be one of the most effective skills for killing Charr bosses, as it can finish a boss off in 1 hit.
- When you successfully inflict the additional damage, one of a number of quotes appears in the chat log:
- Balthazar bless my strength, teach my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.
- I am a Stone. I do not move. I do not tremble. I have no fear.
- One arrow one kill.
- Snap! Headshot!
Basically, it has nothing to do with your class, nor what you are running, the only thing you need is levels in the Ebon Vanguard Title

Basically its a PVE skill, theres alot in EoTN available that any proffession can use, obviously warriors are more limited by energy that others. But sniper support will work on your warrior, and its pimpingly awesome against actual char. Against anything else, it isnt too great, unless you have amazing luck.

make sure to look for the quotes the sniper makes when he hits for 900 =D they are the best ;-) one of the most amusing skills in the game =) also, there is a Q&A thread on the forums somewhere. this would be more appropriate if posted there ;-) for future reference =)

Trivia
- "Snap! Headshot!" is most likely a reference to FPS-Doug's "Boom Headshot!!"
- "One arrow one kill." is most likely a reference to the phrase "One shot, one kill" which has gained notoriety in movies as a glorification of the "sniper mystique". The phrase refers to sniper tactics which make use of both stealth and efficiency to eliminate an important target using one shot although whether this reflects the reality of sniping is subject to debate.
- "Balthazar bless my strength, teach my hands to war, and my fingers to fight" is a reference to Psalm 144: "Blessed be the Lord, my strength, who teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight."
- "I am a Stone. I do not move. I do not tremble. I have no fear." is a quotation from the movie Enemy at the Gates, a World War II movie about snipers in the Battle of Stalingrad.
- This could also be a reference to the movie Saving Private Ryan, in which Private Daniel Jackson recites lines similar to these while providing sniper support.

No it won't. 10 energy for a very rare (10% on most enemies) one hit kill, and much more often (read: every time you need it most) tiny amount of damage and bleed is a waste for a warrior. [Finish Him!] does better damage, deep wound, cracked armor, and will basically kill anyone below 50% hp every time, all for the same energy, a faster recharge rate, and an instant cast time.
It's a lulzy skill when it works right, but most of the time it's a waste, and certainly not "great" on a character with 2 energy pips and no e-management.

Sniper Support is not that great as Skyy High said. A better PvE-only skill for your warrior is Light of Deldrimor. AoE for a warrior and, at r10 delver, you hit enemies in the area (aggro circle) for 80 each which softens them up nicely.
I forgot to mention that the damage (holy) doubles if you are fighting undead.

It is a "spell," so you can wield whatever you want, and you can be whatever prof you want.
Think of it this way... It isn't YOU performing the snipe. Rather, you are magically signalling your Ebon Vanguard buddies hiding in the trees, and they are firing arrows precisely into your target's weak spots.

Sniper Support adds an element of fun chance into an otherwise boring and predictable game.

If the game is boring and predictable, change your builds, do something that involves micromanagement (interrupts, a complex spike, etc), run a heroway team that uses something other than saabway, discordway, or 2 paras. Certainly, running this skill can be fun, because seeing 900 damage pop over an enemy's head is hilarious, but it's not because it's a random chance. If random chance were all it took for a rip-roaring good time, everyone would sit in town doing /roll 100. It's different, which can be fun, but different doesn't change the fact that it's a bad skill choice for a warrior.

"I am a Stone. I do not move. I do not tremble. I have no fear."
The first time I saw this apprear in my chat window I almost had a fit thinking my PC was being hacked or that a mod was messing with my mind.. LOL, especially as almost all of my characters are called "(insert name) Stone"!
I've been having more fun lately with Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support coupled with Mark of Pain and Barbs though ^^

sry about the bump but I had a question.
someone once told me useing mesmer skills you could make sniper support always hit with the 900 or some dmg and it used an elite and non elite mes skill. I didnt think that was true but if it was that would be sweet you guys know anything about that?

Sounds like a bunch of crap to me, and if it's true, it's definitely a bug.
A mesmer elite and a mesmer non-elite sounds an awful lot like Echo and Arcane Echo to me, and that's definitely not true if that's the case since I've run that several times myself for fun.
