Because any storage space takes up room on ANet's database.

There's a reason why stack sizes in online games, and in older offline games, are almost always somewhere around 250 - the largest range of numbers that can be tracked with a single byte of data is 0-255. Since disk architecture is such that space is usually parceled out in chunks no smaller than one byte, having a stack size over 255 doubles the amount of disk space required for tracking the number of items in a stack, regardless of whether any individual stack is >255 or not.

Agreed. I'd be able to clear out so much of my inventory if even just elemental and condition-lengthening mods (you know, ones that aren't variable in their effect) could go to a trader, rather than holding onto dozens of various types just in case I ever need them.

Would you like to move all contents of storage slot I,II,III,IV into backpack/beltpouch/bag?

Storage space will always be limited, so I would rather have a faster and more efficient way to move items around.
Oooh. I likey!

The 'festival hat guy' method would have similar benefits to the materials storage tab, however - all they'd need is a switch on whether you have a particular type of armour or not. (Personally, if they are looking at taking this route, I'd recommend simply using the Monument of Resilience, which already tracks which armours are unlocked, thus only requiring the extra code needed for the new functionality space-wise.)

If it isn't somehow related to Spawning Power or requiring an attribute over 12, the N/Rts will just steal it again.

Technically, they can just use couple of high bits from different property that will never reach certain number. Assuming, for example, that data structure of all items contains requirement (it probably won't, but bear with me), it is safe to use 4 high bits for argumenting stack size - increasing maximum size to ~4000. Also making code a bit messy, but that is the price ...

But stack sizes are not issue. More problems would be solved by making all upgrades stackable.

I want a wardrobe so I can hang my unused armor sets for retrieval at a later date, instead of having to carry em around all the time.

Dye and tome storage would be great.

Dedicated minipets should also be retrievable from HoM to use as and when you feel like it.

I'm hoping for a little bonus content a la Sorrow's Furnace. Hell, throw in a high-end area off the south-western end of Verdant Cascades filled with Quetzal machinations. Hehe.

Why only Prestige armour in the Hall of Monuments then? why not all armours?

Or... make a 15k version of Tyrian armour like Farrah Cappo has:

Definately looking forward to extra storage, even just dye storage + belt pouch expansion will help quite a bit. I'd love to see much more than this though, some way of dealing with armour sets, keys (I know, i should use picks, but I have a fair few left over!), pets, weapon mods etc.

Hrm. Based on recent experience.

Book storage that doesn't count for tomes or completed/authorized books.
Dye storage that doesn't stack.
Equipping a weapon that is not from your primary class drops all your attribute points to 0

From Konig Des Todes quote of Linsey:
Quote:
75.172.44.33: from dictionary.com "prestige: reputation or influence arising from success, achievement, rank, or other favorable attributes." It's not a stretch that prestige in games would be equated with rarity which in most games comes hand in hand with expense. The reason we can't use generic green weapons is because there are hundreds of them.
Arenanet, how did you ever manage to create such a good game, your entire staff seems to be composed of brainless retards.

I would like to see a good para update to the leadership line.

Leader's Comfort should just heal for 40 - 140+ depending on attribute (much like Heal Sig) without having to have allys

Soldier's Fury - better shout for upkeep. or just make it last 10 seconds uncoditional (with no activation time IE make it a shout not echo) with 20sec recharge.

Aggressive Refrain- this hit the nerf bat anyway, make a leadership shout to upkeep. maybe update Hasty Refrain or Lead the way (its a pain in the arse to stop to cast something like Anthem of Flame)

That's.. kind of the point of the skill? Much like many of paragon skills; they help allies and Leader's Comfort is a skill that takes something back from those allies.. I think it's good, and makes sense as it is.

hoping to see dye and tome storage tab. anything else would be a bonus =P .
also, the Treasure Hunter title was disabled from being announced in towns as an acheivment, from when they made teasure hunter acct wide. I want them to put it back so we can see when someone gets it. especially since easter is on the way and I and others will finally max the title and would like it announced.

Spur-of-the-moment, non-storage-based wishlist: (I'm taking a wait-and-see with regards to what storage upgrades are coming)

- Is Amatz Basin ever going to give you more than +5 faction for kills? (Yes, I still mess around in this mission from time to time when I'm bored.) It's not even the standard faction rate in explorables anymore. Where's my change to +10 faction per kill as is standard for NM zones? Saving the refugees doesn't give crap anymore. At least make the kills worth a damn.

- The Guild Hall Skill Trader: Either fix it so he can offer more than just the core skills, or lower the cost of him from 100k down to ~20k or so. He's a glorified cap sig trader in his current state of ability, and 100k for that is way too much.

- Always worth a mention: Superior ID Kits and Superior Salvage kits made available from the Temple of Ages merchant. If there's anything else that high-end merchants have that this merchant doesn't, add that stuff too.

- XP scrolls are nice. Elite Area scrolls are nice. How about some sort of faction/rep gain increase scrolls?

- Alright now, this has gone on for faaaaaaaaaar too long:

Local chat: name in yellow, message in white.
Guild chat: name in green, message in gray.
Team chat: name in light blue, message in gray.
Alliance chat: name in orange, message in gray.

and then...

Trade chat: name in light pink, message in light pink -- the SAME light pink!

Why does a chat channel that when used is going to have billions of lines in it, have the name and the message the SAME FREAKIN' COLOR? Does anybody at ANet realize just how hard it is at peak hours in Kamadan to read this channel, not simply because of the sheer amount of messages, but because it's a real eyesore to make out where one trade message line of spam ends and another begins? A simple cosmetic change such as giving trade chat name and message different colors (like every other damn channel) would go a looooooooooong way with readability.

Been requested by people for a long time. Still all pink, all the time. If the goal is to improve the game, this would be one of the ways, for a LOT of people.

EDIT: One last thing. Hopefully with the HoM part of the update, ANet finally spills the beans as to what exactly constitutes a 'maxed' HoM monument. Players are going on the speculation that maxing the display area of the monument is maxing it out (ie. 20 minis b/c after that point it's overflow, etc.), but AFAIK there has never been confirmation one way or the other. It's time to give this information out.
