Haha so true. Why would one character need 11 types of Destroyer Weapons anyway?
|
Yeah. I am a ranger. I will want to display bows. I am not going to save tons of gold to purchase axes, hammers, swords, etc. just to dedicate them. I have a Destroyer Bow in there, now ALL I NEED is a Tormented Bow. Then I will be done grinding for weapons.
Same with armor. I am Canthan-born, Kurzick-affiliated. So I earned the Elite Kurzick Armor, and displayed it. I am done gathering armor!

P.S. I still LOVE playing Guild Wars. I am in no hurry for GW2.

Maybe an upgrade option at the Xunlai Agent or at a crafter of bags/belts, that lets you purchase the storage enhancement you need, IF and when you need it. There could be buyable tabs for armor, dyes, books, etc. You could purchase a tab for the storage chest and/or for your character's personal inventory.
What do you all think? I think they would need to be moderately expensive, though. Maybe a plat for each new tab...

Just because you wouldn't use something doesn't mean that it would only be beneficial for just a fraction of the community. Most people have multiple sets of armor, and even if they don't, it's not that they can't benefit from something; they simply choose not to use it. Otherwise I could argue against a new system for storing books because I only fill up one at a time so it would be of no use to me. See what I mean?
That said, I would have no problem setting up a system where you pay for more storage. I don't see why having more for free would inconvenience anyone, but if we could make it a money sink I wouldn't complain.

I'd probably put this at the very top of my wishlist. There's just not enough room on the friends list to justify not having something like this. It shouldn't be much work, either, since the regular guild roster would provide most (if not all) of the necessary code anyway.

I don't think this is necessary (but if it were given to me I probably wouldn't complain), but if it were to be implemented the stack size would have to be larger to be at all useful. Otherwise you go somewhere in nightfall, kill 1 djinn... it drop 34 piles of glittering dust and suddenly that tab is full and you're still using a regular slot on it, too. In that way it would save no inventory space at all. Plenty of other mobs (nightfall especially, but even in factions) drop denominations over 25, too.

*Maybe* on the weapons. I'd like to see "Dedicated" instead of "Customized", but the account-wide update should take care of the need to get all weapons on a single character and waste 8 or more.
The armor point I disagree with. For almost any profession, if it's your main, you can have an armor for each attribute and have your hall filled/almost filled. My main, an Assassin, has a Crit Strikes, Dagger, Deadly Arts, and Shadow Arts armor, plus one runed differently for utility. Sure, I use the Deadly Arts least, and the Shadow Arts is exclusively set up for farming, but they're all useful, at least sometimes. Not to mention, armor is one of the most fun things in the game to collect and swap in and out depending on what you're running/how you're feeling.
ON TOPIC: Anything will be fine with me. Armor is my biggest issue pretty much account wide. If I could get 5 armor sets per character stored elsewhere (ie not in an inventory or in Xunlai) my storage problems would essentially disappear.

My hope? A nice, big, fat, shiny, red button titled, "Guild Wars 2 beta" on the character select or log in screen. For best effect, the background should be changed to GW 2 concept art, and a Guild Wars 2 title or logo should be in prominent display.
This update would be on April 1st, naturally. The massive outcry, outrage, whining, frustration, confusion, and general chaos would be highly amusing. Unfortunately, this would be an extremely bad marketing and business decision.

I suppose we can always dream. I'd actually play my other characters without feeling discouraged, but a lot of titles wouldn't make any sense if they were account wide.
My hope is that they incorporate a unique armor storage system that allows you to designate a "set" of armor and put it in your storage as a single item. A bag for players to have that stores books and quest items would be nice as well.

I want:
1)SF nerfed
2)Survivor track to be reset when you die so if you get the experience in a streak at
any time you get the title. 2 years ago HOM didnt exist so didnt care about survivor title but i want it on my monk now and not just my new stupid chars that I dont care about. And a billion of gold into my monk's other titles means I aint gonna delete it to get survivor now.
3) Ability to change appearance of hom not randomized
4) Material storage to hold amounts greater than 250 would save me 1 or 2 entire accounts full of stacks of stuff
5) stackable weapon mods would save me maybe 4 accounts full of garbage
6) Show weapons in towns.
Minor wants:
gold storage inscrease
page in inventory for dyes. tomes, extra page for eotn

Expected updates:- A "book box" like the Incubator that has a specific slot for each of the books, so the character can carry them with them without taking lots of slots. Books in the box get filled in by the mission just as if they were in the person's normal inventory if the box is carried in the inventory with them.
Nice-to-haves/speculation:- A dye tab in Xunlai chest to hold dyes (like the materials storage tab)
- A mini-pet storage tab in Xunlai chest to hold one of each mini-pet (like the materials storage tab)
Wishful thinking- "Trophy" tabs in Xunlai chest - a series of tabs like the materials storage tabs to hold up to a stack of trophy drops from creatures like margonite masks, destroyer cores, icy lodestones, etc. Maybe broken down by campaign/expansion? Would make gathering things for CNY feast, to swap for collector weapons/armours, etc easier.
- A "Personal" tab in the Xunlai chest that has stuff for the current character only. The contents of this tab is NOT shared between characters on the account, with each char getting their own "personal" tab. Gives somewhere to store personalised weapons/armour for a character when not in use, and if you have 10 chars that's 10 tabs of personal storage - 1 for each char. Only the tab for the character opening the box is shown at any time, so it's only 1 additional "view" tab in the interface. That'd allow you to store up to 4 elite sets of armour per character (which fits with the "5 sets" for HoM), or several alternative weapon sets, or anything else that you feel "belongs" to a specific char and just needed somewhere to put it rather than to share it universally.
- A tab to store the quest reward items such as Monastery Credits, Imperial Commendations, Kournan Coins, etc.
I don't really expect any of the wishful thinking stuff to happen, though I'd be delighted if it did. I'd be a little surprised if there isn't something like the book box though - seeing as it was one of the first suggestions made to ANet when people complained about the additional space pressures caused by adding books to the campaigns in the title update last year, and it seems like such a logical way to solve the problem.
Speculation stuff...well, we know there's some form of storage update coming for the chest, but not what yet. So they're my guesses. For the character, I don't expect ANet will expand the number of storage slots in bags/pouch themselves - more that they will do something to relieve the pressure by adding more incubator-like things to store specific items in so you only use 1 slot rather than 5-17.

The only things I kinda care for is the HoM and added storage...
Though I do hope (but it probably won't happen) that they make runes and inscriptions stackable. I have no clue why that didn't happen yet.

They and other things that you would thing should be stackable are not because " what it would do to the market, and how they are needed by new players." now i agree that they should be stackable but i also see the other side of it so maybe only allowing stacks of 5 or 10? so then they are stackable but they are not that easily horded.

Unlike ecto or black dye, the availability of runes and insignias greatly affects gameplay. If the cost of Superior Vigors shot through the roof because it became legal tender for traders, that would suck for people just playing the game. See what I means?

Me too but make the t-shirts better than those that they are selling now. Add to that, favorite weapon(s) in the HOM like my storm and dryad bows. The dye and armor storage others have mentioned.
There have been a lot of good ideas and it would be nice to see some of them. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Runes/insignias/inscriptions/weapon mods all have a different value when identified (like weapon/armour drops do). I suspect this means that they NEVER will be able to be stackable - what value do you put on the stack when every single item in it can have a different value? How do you track that?
Based on my observations so far:
Blue runes/mods/inscr/insignias identify for between about 26-60g
Purple runes for between 26-90g
Gold runes for between 100-200g

Skill hunter will be made an account-wide title. An option will be given for displaying your hall as "individual" or "account wide". You will be able to display your trophies, minis, etc. in whatever order you choose.

i hope this counts for the titles you already have, other wise it will suck doing this titles again.
