Or perhaps, if the overhead of the transaction facilitation costs are part of the reason to have the price where it's at, a discount could be given for buying more tabs in a single transaction. After all, this overhead would only come into play once per transaction, not for every slot bought in the transaction.

$10 per tab. Vs. $10 for something I can touch.
No contest. Not spending $10 on a virtual locker.

i think this is a good idea...or at least something similar like:
1 tab = $10
2 tabs = $15 (save $5)
4 tabs = $25 (save $15)
i think many people who actually will buy the tabs, will most likely buy all 4 tabs if a deal like this is in place.

/seconded
but I've spoken to Regina about it and apparently a lot of these ideas already came up and the $10 was the most fair/standardised one, just as she's already posted in the thread

Or you know, you can spend $10 on a new character slot which can hold 45 slots.
Or maybe spend 20 on a new account so you can hold even more gear.

x2. This is the reason as to why the storage tab idea is a huge waste of time as there are far better options that outshine it.

ANet knows that some people will pay for the convenience of having it available as a Xunlai Storage Tab vs. having another mule/account.
If you want the convenience, you'll cough up the price. If not, you'll either find a more cost-effective alternative or not give a damn.

Meh. It's fine. I'm still a little annoyed about the April's fool. The Shroud Of Silence would have been a great skill to use in PvP to make people shut up XD

They parade around this vaunted April update, this huge piece of code they have been toting around. They stall a badly needed skill update for this update. We find out that the update is storage that will cost us extra money. Not only extra money, but they're so oblivious of their own markets that they don't understand that consumers can buy new accounts for the same price, much less storage.
Regina only comes out when there's a salvo of hatred at Anet - never when we ask about useful things like "HEY THERE'S 50,000 BROKEN SKILLS RIGHT NOW AND IT'S RUINING YOUR GAME".

We know that some people will choose not to buy this feature for any number of reasons. However, we've also seen a large number of comments from people who intend to buy it.

Interesting...sounds like a long-winded way of saying "people will buy it, so we'll charge it, so piss off."

As Regina stated above, The Marketing team decided to leave the current price because x% of people indicated that they will purchase the storage for $10 a tab. I don't see anyway that Anet will come down to $5 a tab. You see, they are betting on those people who will purchase the tab at $10.00 (lets say 50%) plus those who later will decide on purchasing a new char slot, plus those who later will buy the storage tab.
If they lower the price to $5, and lets say 85% purchase the tab, they still make more money with the first scenario. Even if the number of people who purchased the tab is less. That is 50 people = $500, 85 people = 425, not counting those who will buy another char slot, etc (50 and 85 are used as an example). That's why I don't think the price its going to change. Don't get me wrong, they are here to make money and I'm not against that.
Let the update come in and don't worry about purchasing or not a tab that you might not really need. We all had high expectations on this update, some people believe Anet met expectations, others disagree. It really is in the eye of the beholder.
I for one, I consider this tread closed, since there's no possibility of any change.
Good for you if you decide to buy or not a tab. Lets just finish this.

And why shouldn't they say that? Business is about making profits, and if this is the most profitable avenue to take, then it's the course they should take.
Don't like it? Then don't buy it. That's how business works. They don't owe you anything. They've given you what you've paid for. You're not entitled to any more.

Yes, to put it as BLUNTLY as possible to those who are still fighting for a cheaper price for the storage tabs:
If they think that they can get more profits from selling them at $10/tab, they would do so. If they think that they can get more profits from selling them at $5/tab instead, they would do so too and sell them at whatever price maximizes profit. Currently, they think that $10/tab would give them more profit based on their projections and that is the reason. It is all business.

Over here in the UK, we can pick up the complete collection of all games for £25, which is around $35-40 I think at the moment (possibly less)
Now, faced with paying $10 (who knows - £5-10) per storage addon, then I know which I'll be buying.
Buying a new complete collection will allow me to start a few new chars, and give me... 8 x 45 personal storage, plus 4 x 20 xunai storage.
(Plus I can make a paragon, which I don't have at the mo - lol)
The storage upgrades being offered in the April update are nowhere near the same league as a brand new box. (3rd account for me - GWx2 FTW!)

Hahaha. I've paid more for a good beer, $10 is **** all, so I'm more than happy to pay for the extension. At the end of the day, it'll make my Guildwars experience more enjoyable, and hell, it'll help fund Guildwars 2.
Speaking of Guildwars 2, I hope Anet completely remove the entire mechanics of Guildwars 1, and start a fresh with out numbers. I'm sick of +60 armour, and levelling off at level 20, and balancing 9 with 12 attribute points, and having plus 17% damage against dwarves...
Seriously, that system is great if you're rolling a dice, but your average gaming computer is slightly more advanced than a die, and thus all of this mechanics business should be hidden and MMORPG's can finally evolve into something less... mathematical.
But regarding the April Update, yeah. $10 is nothing.
