Yes...
If you PVP you will notice that there are crazy stereotypes for professions I shall list a few but the majority of the prejudices come from the characters secondary profession more than anything in pvp.
PARAGON - oh noooo a paragon they haven't been used in a team build on pvx wiki they SUCK. Yes people think this and that is the reason why they think this. If you think paragons suck then you must also think rangers suck because the paragon can spread conditions just as well if not better than the ranger due to their quick speed of throwing spears. There's a paragon who is gladiator rank 3 (mighty glad) and has only been playing for a matter of months. He went from G2 to G3 extremely quickly and only with his paragon he's amazing and has had to kill multiple people at the end of an ra match by himself. However people still continue to say "ewww a paragon, para fail, noob para". They always will think this way untill someone posts an effective para build on wiki or a team build that involves a para. IN PVP PEOPLE ARE A SLAVE TO PVX WIKI.
MONK - Man monks in pvp.... Lord....some of them not all but damn some walk around like they are the shit lol. I monk in pvp and I am G3 so believe me it's possible to be good and not be up your own ass =P but A LOT ARE. So usually because of this if you ever try and give your team advice in a match expect people to instantly get pissed at you and think you're talking crap.
People do tend to be biased towards warriors for the reasons that other people have stated. The youngest people tend to play them and stupid people seem to be drawn to them. If you see a warrior who doesn't run a wiki build in ra you will usually find that they are just plain horrible so usually either they just use wiki cause they can't think of their own thing or they are insanely stupid lol.
Also would depend on the gender of your character I'm a woman so always have female characters I'm sure people would treat me differently if I was on a male character....for instance I'm sure I wouldn't get called a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO randomly ^_^

tl;dr: Perspective from an RA farmer.
But seriously, Paragons are kinda lacking on what they offer in most areas of the game (excluding pve imbagon). Since you are talking about RA, it's pretty hard to be a decent para in RA since so much of a para is buffing party members and since its RA you have no idea if your buffs will actually mesh with the team.
Although I remember the last time I ran a Para in RA I was cursed and screamed at before the match even began :(
Also, there is just so many trash warriors out there it's become like sins were right after Factions was released, when everyone tried to tank with them.

Here are my thoughts:
MOST of my guild started on a warrior (a male warrior to be exact) when they first started playing. Warriors are an easier class to learn to play the game with so this tends to attract the morons. If you don't believe that this is so, read the Prima guide because it does out right recommend warrior to start out with.
I'm not meaning to sound all high and mighty but my experience as a monk has made me see more than my fair share of stupid tanks and many of those tanks are either new players or people who are just showing off, AKA: Noobs. Most of these new tanks are definately males. Granted, not every male warrior is like this, however, the problem is a vast majority are.
As for the reason people thought the "necro was cool," I often find people who play necros to be laid back and actually fun to talk to. For a majority, necro is their primary and it's usually fun to talk to them.
The game is 4 years old and of course we're going to develope some sort of sterio-type for each profession. Think about it for the reasons above.

Nothing, tra la la?
|
lol. I'd guess it would be the female necro, male war as well.
All my chars are female (and am a gal). I did make a male pvp char once, but only played on him once with no problems. I've always gotten along well with people whatever char I'm on...aside from the creeps that ask for things they'll never get from me or the usual idiots that just like to make trouble.

I've noticed this as well, actually.
I have a feeling it actually has to do with game mechanics to a degree, attracting certain personalities. Warrior for example appeals to people who want results immediately, want to see damage as their weapon hits stuff. Activate a skill, attack immediately.
On the other hand, you have classes that often spend a lot of time standing in one place casting, such as Necromancer and Ritualist, often with no direct damage or healing (for example, minions and weapon spells) and this tends to appeal more to people who are more patient and disconnected from the game itself.
Granted some people might make their initial class decisions based on description and appearance, but in the end the game mechanics are usually what decide what class they settle on.

Interesting idea, there. Perhaps we could pool some traits together for each profession.

Seconding this. (Incidentally, seeing your name gave me a turn, as I play monk and my nickname is Myst. Please tell me you're not my doppelganger.)

Considering how people do make certain professions purely for farming sometimes - monk and 'sin spring to mind immediately... you'd have a pretty hard time sorting things out. :P

( ps im not saying the op is any of the above ).
Men an women both use toon of the opp. gender but when us men do it - kids cant accept it.Im sure as hell they have played a game on xbox/ps2 etc where your forced to use a female toon and that doesnt bother them.
If your male and want to see how bad women have it from male - make a female toon and sit in an outpost - you dont even have to speak and you will get idiots tryin to chat you up or even worse making lewd comments.
Its a Role Play game for gods sake and there isnt a written rule stating you have to play your gender - if you kids dislike it either -
a. dont play
b. Dont go chatting up a toon or makin lewd comments unless you know them
c. Dont call ppl gay if using female toon - You`re the one whos tryin to chat them up not the other way round - Its you who`s in the wrong so accept it.
I seen quite a few ppl wanting gf`s and usually ppl do tend to tell them to stop for reasons of protection - you never know what type of person it is or how old.
I even think once part of an outpost reported someone as it was upsetting other players and very concerning.

omg you must be watching my girls lol. i leave any of my gals in a out post while i go do rl stuff i come back to lewd whsp and male chars humper her face. any out posts even those rarely use i had this happen. lol
now i have to afk in my gh >> shing jea is like pre proph lol 90% of the peeps their are kids or grown ups acting like kids.
