Why people going for survivor title annoy me
This happens about once a day.
I'm standing in LA or Kam trying to hock whatever I have at the time for gold and someone in alliance chat will say "Can I have help on a mish?". I'm helpful, I'm nice and I like to help the new kids with the game so I tell them I'm on my way. When I get there they'll say "I'm going for survivor, so can you do the mish for me while I stand back and not die?" Ugh, so let me get this straight you pulled me away from what I'm doing, disrupting my game time so I can do your work for you because you're going for a stupid title?...Well I don’t really say that but that’s what I’m thinking, anyways I do the mish for them and I move on only to see in alliance chat a few second later the same person asking for help with the next mission. Which I’m guessing they’re going to get someone else do the next mish for them...and so on and so on.
Survivor is a cool title, yeah. But isn’t there a better way to get it than being a leech and having the rest of your alliance/guild do the dirty work for you?

Wait, what? I thought survivor is a matter of getting to LA with runner, then level 10 in Cantha and then worms/kilroy till rank 3?

You're right, that is kind of annoying. I think the way I'd handle those people is to help them a little bit. But, if they start being excessive about it as you described, I'd tell them to start doing their own work (in a more polite manner of course )

The reason why you hate survivors is because of a deep, unconscious memory that you cannot recall on the top of your mind. It makes you angry and breeds hatred for those who do not wish to die. It all started when you were 5. Your mother was playing a video game instead of paying attention to you. Whenever you called for her, she responded with "Not now, I'm trying to stay alive." You thought she was serious, but slowly you realized, she cared more about her game than for you. You hated that, you resented that, and now, whenever you see people trying to play a game without dying, you hate them, you hate the title, you hate the act of living in video games. You love death in video games, you love killing in PvP, you love messing up survivors, you love to see players die and wipe groups on easy missions. You love it all. But you hate those who aim not to die.
It is all thanks to Freud that I can tell you this.
*Serious mode... on* I hate survivor now too. I got it the hard way on my Paragon, before EN, and now it's just child play because of silly exploits. I want to nuke those exploits... nuke them to the ground, watch them burn into ash, smell the air as the wind blows the ash to my face, smearing it, covering it. To watch as the ash that is not stuck on me blows away, never to be seen or recognized again, lost forever in the void of the world.

As someone going for the Survivor title -
It's slow progress on my girl, but I'm very, very slowly bringing her through various quests and missions. I'm not too fussed about getting it fast fast fast, and I don't like dragging someone else who doesn't want to help me down. I'm sorry you have to deal with these people.

That's why whenever I go for LS, I usually pay 2-3x what the mission is worth, or do it myself.
Ironically enough, running away gets me killed more often then actually fighting.

Those are some obnoxious survivors. Only character i ever got survivor on was my para, and i used hero/henchmen through nightfall, eotn, factions, capped most skills on the way then did 2 kilroy runs to finish off the last 100k or so. I'm gonna have to place the blame on you there though for acting all spineless and stuff, if someone punks you out like that and you just take it... well haha you should work on that dude. Alliance member or not, that's justified.

if they say that, i probably help them, if they say: help me get pass this mission please, then after 2 minutes into the mission tells you they want to go have dinner. and disappear for the rest of the mission, returns picks up all the drops, and ask you to help them with the next mission O.o

People who get titles/achieve things in gimmicky ways don't annoy me, I just have no respect for them. Since theres no way to differentiate between the gimmicky people and the good people, these titles mean absolutely nothing to me.

There was someone like that in my alliance
He also tried to critique my builds, insisting i run trash he suggested, after about 10 minutes he relented and let me do the mission for him. He then spammed alliance chat over the next couple of days till i whispered the leader to boot him.

Wow, some people here are in some pretty shitty alliances. Think I understand my guilds reluctance to join one now. We don't have that kind of crap in the guild I'm in...

I don't see much point in helping other guild members unless your an officer because they don't thank you and they don't remember your name 10min later. Your better of playing the game for yourself and if someone asks for help then they should ask other people who are doing that mission.

Agree^
This dude you're helping is not only a prick, he's lazy as well. There's no point in doing the mission for him. He asks for help, not for someone to play for him. If so he should ask for a runner, so people can anticipate to it and just reject if they don't want to. I have a few survivors in my guild as well, they ask for help regularly and I'm happy to join them on my monk to rise the challenge. But they do play themselves.
My guess is you don't hate survivors, you hate lazy people who are not willing to do anything to get something. Which is completely understandable.
