This sucks. If a person put in the hard work (36hrs, omg!!), scored the points AND shared his ideas, he bloody deserves it.
I raced no where to as much as some of you guys, the high ping made me too upset to continue.

I contacted GW support and the reply I got said only the top times are going to be rewarded, so im curious to see where gaile posted that the duplicates in top 100 are going to be removed?

You do not need to spike enter to get a top 100 time. You only need to spike enter for the team minigames like dodgeball and snowball arena to ensure you dont get bots/leeches/noobs on your team.

I would love it if dodgeball and snowball arenas weren't random.

What is spike entering?

Is it just resigning and entering over and over until they get the team they want?

Also just wondering something about the race.

You guys said that in order to make the top 100 you need to get the echo+SRB combo before :50.

Does that mean that you should camp on the very first box? Or is it better to camp on the water boxes?

To make the current high score table, you need echo sand SRB a lot under 50 seconds now. When the original post was made, the lowest end of the table was still in the 460K range. It is now well over 470K which is equal to almost ten seconds of time.

If you dont have them in the boxes in the water by around 43 seconds or so, you are relying on then getting another SRB on the way round.. or at least I would be. I think others are still a lot faster than me on the way round, so may be able to make the table without that third SRB.

BTW Spike entering is trying to synchronise a start with guildmates etc, so that you have a team that won't attack you. I have never done this and personally dont see the point of it. It might help you get to the boxes cleanly, but the chances of you getting that elusive SRB/Echo combination are still remote to say the least.

The way the times in this have improved is astonishing. The first high score I saw that made me go "Wow! I will never get anywhere near that" was 468K. My personal fastest score is now 476125, and I can do around 470K runs fairly regularly.

I still can't match the masters of this game and get 476K+ over and over again though!

I tried getting every box near my path and managed to get echo+SRB and only got 458k. I could've gotten a better score, but my ping keeps jumping up to 500-600 every 10-15 sec or so. =/

Thanks for the input, but that still doesn't answer my question of which boxes should be camped to get the chain.

Do you camp on the very first box on top of the hill or do you camp on the water box?

I've found that it's nearly impossible for me to even get to the water boxes a good deal before :50 unless I happen to get a SRB on that first hill box. I use the combination that namekey layed out in his map, and I usally have like 3-4 secs before the :50 mark.

This question also leads to another. Once you have the first combo, where should you camp to get the second/third combos?

I consistently take first place, but I have a really hard time of getting past the high 450k to low 460k scores.

If things go well for you, without being knocked down, you should get to the first water by the 43-44 second mark. If you have a good ping or have everything perfect, you can get there by 40 seconds. There you move between the boxes until you get the combo. Once you get that, if you can stay out of trouble at elastic corners or people distracting your skills at the wrong time, you can get to the end without anymore skills in about 1 minute 35 seconds.

I can't really add a lot more to it. Try not to get to close to the corners or you end up going backwards, try to watch how your RRPM reacts as you go round the track to learn the perfect timing, hope no one attacks you, hope you get the combo within 3 boxes, and unless you are super good and have a great connection, pick up another SRB or echo before the cross over section to help you keep the speed right up to the end.

I didn't play this much over the weekend, as ou may understand, I'm a little bit tired of it. Dragon Arena was fun though :P

So when you camp that first box do you immediately activate SRB or do you wait until later to do it?

I use echo then SRB as it is shown on the map, in the water. It helps you get out and through the slow part in teh cave.

I have a cuple of questions concerning Top 100 award giving..
Is this top 100 daily, monthly or quaterly?
When/how will top 100 recive prize? Also is there a way of knowing if you are in the top100 after the event is over(you no longer have acces to racing outpost)?

Bad thread res. Should have just asked in Q&A.

The top 100 Racers, probably quarterly, will win a Greased Lightning Minipet only during the Canthan New Year. Whether it's quarterly or monthly or whatever is unclear, because ANet has never had an RBR even less than three months before the days of the Canthan New Year. Sufficient time is made after the end of the event for people to claim their prize. If they don't claim it, later weekends will give them the chance to get it.

Please, no more discussion on RBR right now. This thread risks getting locked if we start talking about it out of season.
