Im really enjoying playing GW all over again
On a new account that is.
Im done and bored with my main account except for Z missions and Z chest, and bought a second account initially to get 6 hero parties, but I am actually enjoying playing the missions, doing all the skill quests, and immediately had a hit of nostalgia and everything feels just as good as it used to years ago in GW.
But I am cheating though - two lvl 20 SF heroes from my main account with a couple of heals each, plus a fire imp.
I wonder if my interest will stay, now that I have to unlock everything again. I refuse to buy unlock packs, because I actually feel like doing every single skill unlock quest instead.
Oh, I made a wammo for fun and am pretending to be a noob just like I was 4 years ago, secretly pwning everything with my pair of SF heroes .
Fun. Then even more fun once I have heroes on the new account, but I am going to play through each campaign in order, so will just have MoX, Olias and Zenmai initially.
Too bad the bonus Imp cant be used after level 20 .

I dont play anywhere near as much as I used to either, but havnt really been able to get into any other games since GW.
Its going to take a long time getting through every campaign, and I doubt I will get it done fast, but I have something to play again.

I was actually thinking of doing that same thing after this week when my classes are over with for the summer. I was going to just start a new Ele, my original and one of my two favorite classes, and play through the game again. It's good to know that some people can feel that old spark again by doing that.

glad to hear you're having fun again man... gesh i miss the old days of wammos and when heroes weren't around... when i was first going through the game and learning everything... i remember when minos ruled the crystal desert and that was the place to farm, where AOE never spread foes apart.

I remember when:
Droks was today's Kamadan.
when tactics were actually used
getting frenzy and heal sig as my first two skills.
I could go on and on.

I'm just playing it for a bit more largely for two reasons:
1. Z-quests are making pugging more active for awhile, and I'd rather have fun+lower success rate rather than nofun+higher success rate. I discovered things were more fun this way after L4D.
2. The PvP is still, bar none, the best in the MMO market. Balance still may not be what it was in "Ye Good Olde Days", but it's still nowhere near the balance RED ENGINEfest you see in games like WAR and WoW.

Nice to hear some people can still get it going. I think alot of people would restart totally, but one way or another you usually end up missing something ;P
Mmm I can remember when I started out in Factions, (the Factions launcher was epic win, I would sell my soul just to see it again) then the pre-searing Ascalon. Some areas have impact on me depending on the time I play them in. Like I played most of Factions campaign in the summer, so the summer and Factions has alot of hidden meaning for me.
Everyone has some kind of bond at one point.

I all but gave up on gw a few times over the last couple of years, now I am back building up my menagerie, might start on my hall of monuments soon.
Titles for the most part still don't attract my interest probably because they are either silly, need lots of boring repetition or need you to finish the game then play in hard mode to efficiently get to the top.
All that aside recent changes to the game have rekindled my interest.

The best way to enjoy going through Guild Wars is to take your time and actually read the dialog. The game is very well written, and the dialog all the way down to random NPCs is very clever. You will gain a great appreciation for the world ArenaNet created if you do.

I was considering getting a second account (for heroes, of course) and then replay the game using lame skills. You know, before people even knew about B/P in PvE or smiteballs in PvP. Like my R/E that used Fire Storm and Phoenix, because it looked cool and dealt a lot of damage...
As long as I stay away from titles, I might actually find the game enjoyable again.

Nice to hear you are actually enjoying playing GW again, Bhavv.
Dunno what happened but I've seen several retired players return to GW in the last couple of months. And it can't be only the Z-quests that cause it...

I bought a new account for the space, then I realized and remembered how nice pre searing is and how much more exciting doing the quests there as a new character.
Of course with the fire imp it is alot easier than I remembered.

I've enjoyed working on the skill hunter title (bringing me to all corners of the game). I should take more screenshots but some areas are really cool (like the NW corner of Elona where you can actually see the statue in the Crystal Desert far away in the distance).

I got the old spark again, after a year (I know it's short compared to the 4 years or so). I was starting to bore a bit. Now I am just beginning to get into HM and enjoying everything in nm while I fill my hom b4 really getting into hm and obby and all that.
