Were did the celestial pig took all their crappy miniatures and hats?
I think that this a good idea of both introducing the Xunlai Market and increasing the value of an event. Furthermore, Xunlai is canthan-based, it should make sense that they offer this new feature to celebrate the year of the Rat.

Yep, this simply means that market was/is intended for live deployment. Why it hasn't been yet is a different manner, but it's not some random developer's test.

Well... actually it just means that they are testing it more widely. There are more languages than Spanish, German and English.

Yes, there is also Korean.
Yes, Korea, a mystical land where gold sellers have a political pressure group. Virtual property trading is complicated there, to put it lightly. As long as trade was personal, GW was probably OK, but once trading becomes more formal and global then there are legal minefields to tiptoe around.
We haven't explored the possibility that NCSoft's legal department haven't signed off on this yet.

Still waiting on an ANet statement here. Being pretty silent to me is an indication of a tough job of letting us down. I know if I cared about the community (and I am quite sure Gaile does even though many of you seem to think the opposite..), its tough to let bad news break, especially when things keep getting "found".
I am still unconvinced any of this is not a hoax, since no veritable evidence has been shown. Once that happens and/or Gaile speaks up about it, I still will not be convinced this is real. Though it would be nice if its the opposite.

I think you're looking at it the wrong way. If it were a hoax, Gaile should have squashed it some time ago. She squashed the polar bear hoax very quickly (ya, she made a mistake). To let it carry on like this, basically without a word of denial, is basically saying "ya, it's something we're working on."
She doesn't want to say that though, as it will get people's hopes up. If they're unable to develop something they're happy with, they wont make it live. After Gaile telling us they are working on it, not making it live would be a massive letdown, further alienating their player base. They know they can't afford that, so its easiest to just stay mute on the subject.

So, all we can say it's that 'they may be testing it', but may or may not be included...

I still disagree with you. I can't see the .dat, and I don't feel like messing with it in my free time. I have yet to see arguable proof that isn't spurred by reactionary "discovery". I mean this in no offense to the ".dat surfers" in charge of this, but the original idea of the Marketplace was questioned when somebody mentioned it could have been aborted for being too complex to implement.
Then the surfer made an addendum to include the "dedicated" string, which was suspicious to me because anyone with a con-artist head can figure out timing especially well. When the idea that internationalization needed to be done in order to release, suddenly a surfer finds the direct translations for other languages. I have yet to see a screenshot that could even marginally add to the discussion other than reactionary creation. And this is the internet, I have seen more BS thrown around on a single board than any president has ever thrown around in the history of the world. For example, the opening thread more or less confirms the Marketplace's existence, when in fact there is no proof to back it up. That to me is propogating a "positive" hoax in excitement that it might be real.
Marginal evidence would be enough to silence me unless its obviously fabricated, and of course a Gaile response would satiate me.
I do not see silence as confirmation. Silence is planning, premeditation. Maybe it doesn't exist and they are figuring out how to deal with that minefield of dissapointment (brought on us by ourselves but will ultimately somehow end up falling on ANet). Maybe it does exist and they have to tentatively figure out how to proceed, how to deal with various programming, public acceptance, quality control, and legal issues before they can say anything. We know Gaile knows, and I am looking forward to her response.
And I am quite sure even if it was a hoax, Gaile would not be so quick to respond due to the communication error of the polar bear (which actually brings up chuckles in me, I literally had a bag of popcorn when that community outburst happened. I have never seen more spoiled people in my life lol). That would bring doubt to my mind to quickly trust the developers were telling me everything I needed to know to convey to the general public. If anyone has worked in a position where they need to deal with information and people, its a touchy world of hot and cold.

Hmm, if the translations are there it must be ready for release/beta testing. In which case...
I think they're merging the area servers for this. Anyways, I'd say they'll do the last merger the week before Canthan New Year, then give it to us around Canthan New Year for beta testing.

Whenever Gaile denies something simply, rather than explaining about how it's all a big misunderstanding, it is a really good sign.
If in the next few days she doesnt come on an explain that it isnt gonna happen, I'd say feel free to get your hopes up.

Hm... if that happens, I'd travel to Xunlai Market (Asian Chinese Active district) and invite anyone to an Ale, XDDD.
Anyways, I don't see any real reason to relate this to the removal of server frontiers.
I would relate that more to a possible change in some conditions that make the situation not affected by some laws that were preventing some things to go worldwide...
Just... don't get carried away, or we will get quite disappointment if they don't finally add this.... or this was someone's practical joke.

The Internet also brings infinitely more positive stuff than in real-life to the one that knows where to look at. If you knew some of the people involved in this finding, you'd probably think differently. It's, of course, a matter of perspective, the exact same perspective can can make the Internet look like crap or a miracle.
I think that your doubts have been made clear and even your willingness to teach people to get "calmer" (I don't think you know how people feel when they write). Now, just let the topic have its own life. I think it's a brilliant piece of collective work (one guy looks into the dat, which brings another one and so on, opinions are gathered on the topic ... until there's an official statement) and definitely something serious, though hypothetical. It's definitely NOT a hoax until Gaile comes here and said "stop here guys, you can pack your 14 pages of discussions and go home".

Apparently it mentions Dedication, which was introduced after EotN. So, it does mention a sort of recent thing.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but exactly why is it so hard to post up some screenshots of research done on the computer. I am an engineer. If I pop in to my boss and go, "Hey Boss, I solved the problem, its this this and this", my Boss would want to know "Hey Slav... I mean busybod... I mean valued employee, how did you derive this and can you show me your background work to get there so I can check it and we don't just randomly add information that is invalid". If I just walked away saying, "but the answer is positive and I swear its right!" I would not have a very happy boss and I am sure I would be in for trouble.
I hope you see what I am getting at. I am not trying to make everyone "calm down". I am trying to provide a point of contention among the masses that seem to be accepting this as fact. If I see some shred of evidence, I would love to join the hype. I am not trolling, I am looking for something more than internet heebeejeebies (technical term). I trust the blank box of personality that is the internet about as far as I can trust to beat it in a race across the country.

He's right, it's not that hard. For all the time people spend trying to give philosophical reasons why this thread is great, they could give a well documented, visual description of the contributing data in the .dat, where this info is in the file, and exactly how to find it with step by step instructions.
