Well I did that mission in HM with a PUG, got Masters. Did it again on another 2 characters with 6 heroes, got Masters too.
I think a decent human team would beat H/H easily. I had alot of problems with DoA Foundry even in NM with 6 heroes because heroes like to clump together. But a decent human team is powerful enough to beat it. 24 PvE skills vs 3 is a HUGE advantage.

Vizunah and Unwaking makes my skin crawl.. Either you get a foreign team (french, german, italian..) who simply refuse to speak english, and mind you, I cetrainly started out in the english district and am in no mood for the typical "Sorry I'm french" excuse when the other team dies and I have to finish off the mission myself, OR... You get henchies and breeze through everything without any problems, OR... you get a lovely pug who communicates in english and actually knows how to freaking target the Ritualists. :-)
Its a gamble my friend, its a gamble. Stick to heroes and allies

Real players are the reason folks use H/H. Things like leeching, going afk, bringing terrible builds, not playing as a team, griefing, etc all make the AI simply better.
There are of course situations where real players are better, and not to say all players are bad. When teaming with other players, especially strangers, you simply cant tell what they'll do or how they'll perform.
TBA I think GW PvE side would be better off without forced teaming or any kind of NPC help.
Leave the grouping to PvP (no npcs either) and let players group if they want to in pve but not force it, like other mmos.

Pugs are bad, they were bad 3 years ago, they are even worse today. Reason for that is all the decent players don't bother and just H/H it all.
Now you can say "well that's the reason the new people don't learn the ropes". I'd call that bullsh*t. People that want to learn still get plenty of opportunity to do so. Idiots that'll never learn are left in the cold, like they should.
I love my heroes. The maximum of human players in my average PvE party is 2 : myself and either my brother or someone else i know.

.. Same Hero henched most of the game.. Especialy whne i was without a guild. Besides Making funky horrible builds and running them under h/h is fun.. and no 1 to bother you about the builds.. as well as testing them out at different circumstances.. But yeah i prefer heroes above bad players.. at least for the healing i prefer heroes most of the time.. Take bad players on only as a role of damage dealers....as long as my party is alive im fine and dont care what they do.. So yeah if i cant get a friend or guildy to play key roles...they go to heroes.. otherwise PuGs can be used as Bantha Fooder =)

Actually, whilst you are right for most cases. Many guildies are better than H/H imo, but that's just my guild. Heroes and henches can't take PvE skills..Thank God.

I can take 3 heroes and 4 henchmen and flag my way through almost all normal mode missions. I never even need to press a button.
Aren't heroes and henchmen great? It's like playing without really playing!

It is really easy to see in Vizunah HM. Henchies always managed to survive till I came with mhenlo but it was often not the case when a real players started in local... Shame to admit but once I started with heroes in local too and did not manage to survive till Mhenlos arrival. So maybe those henchmen are no so bad after all?

It's sad but true. H/H > most PuGs. I've lost count on how many times the pugs have failed a mission, which leads me to H/H it to masters on first try. I think the only mission i prefer humans over h/h is gyala hatchery, others go faster, smoother and easier with h/h.
(people rarely listen if someone try to tell tactics of any sort.)

If every outpost had a number of people all lining up to party with and ready to modify their builds to better suit the team build - I'd LOVE to play with people. Pretty much constantly since they still beat heroes/hench.
Since the above is not possible - I go with what is left.
H/H.

This is what ANet has pretty much stated they'll pull through with in GW2. Hopefully with the way they've stated skills/combat/movement/uheverythingelse? is going to work in GW2 it might be still be pretty engaging combat, even solo.
I'm just hoping it's that and more, i.e. mission difficulty scales according to the number of players (so that bringing more players just doesn't make it easier). That they also hinted at, but vaguely.

I don't like stuff based on true stories. Those always bring me to tears.

Played this time Zquest HM GOLEM. With a pug playing as healer. Notice a warrior moving too far away. Aiming to the next group besides dying in 2 sec rate is the worst. And repeat that 3 times. Lol

I prefer human (no s at the end intended) in Eternal Grove. But that is the only mission (just to make split easier and do not bother with planting flags all the time). Gyala in my opinion is pretty easy with H/H when you use the longer path (so to speak going backward to the start clearing all the mobs before setting with the turtles).
EDIT:funny typo...
