With all the ridiculous and unreasonable actions Anet has done to Guild Wars 1...
I pretty much stopped reading right there. Not to pick on you OP, But so many people on this forum make blanket statements like this without ever saying WHAT exactly Anet has done that pissed you off so bad. Lets hear some details on this. Which/what/how/and Why did a change affect you and how you play. You state this right at the beginning like everyone here totally agrees with you, but that is just not true.
To answer your topic though....I am eagerly awaiting GW2 and want to be part of it when it all begins. THAT is the best time to play

I second your opinion and add
I am happy they are putting all resources into the new game and are committed to it. Guild Wars is in maintenance mode, and that is ok. They still seem to pull off events. Recycled yes but they still have them. The game is years old and has pleased me during this time. For the monetary investment I made I have been paid back in enjoyment many times over.

How about everything from DoA to today for an answer? That is:
Grind to advance in storyline, grind to get into pugs, grind or h/h or guild, not nerfing OP builds, not balancing pve, splitting pve and pvp... Really, I said it so many times it's not funny anymore.
I will not move on to GW2 because of all the whiners this game has. I have never seen so many people cry over PVE skills. I mean do you actually NOT want to enjoy this game? Do you want it to be so hard it’s not enjoyable? I like playing THROUGH the game. If you think a skill is broken don’t use it. If you want the game to be a challenge, don’t use a certain skill, bring a different group, play in HM, etc....so NO I’m not moving on and I have pretty much stopped play GW because of the ridiculous nerfs.
Lol so you won't bother everything that you accomplished with some good effort be squashed by some noob skills as ursan?
How does everything on this forum turn into an argument. So far all I've seen is arguing over who's opinion about the game is better. All Lucky Charm is asking is why do you continue to play PvE, and if you'll move onto GW2. Which means the responses are going to based on opinion. Opinion =/= Fact.
Yes I'll play GW2. I wouldn't say 'move on' because I'll still play GW1. Why do I play PvE still? I like to go through the game with friends.

Not everyone agrees that these are problems. I don't. I see the PvP/PvE split one of the best things to happen to this game. It should have been done a long time ago.
Grind to advance the story? Very little. Not even enough to whine about it. Name one RPG where there is not some sort of grind.
OP Build and Balancing PvE? Ok maybe you have something here. But truly there will always be a build that would be considered to be overpowered by someone. True balance in a game like this will never ever exist. Way too many skills, tweak one and it makes it stronger than another skill. Nerf one and it hurts others. Its just to complicated to expect perfect balance. Perfect balance would only be possible if they did away with every skill except one and everyone had to use it.
Anyways..........
I think Anet has made a high quality product that has given me years of ongoing entertainment and fun. They do more for its community of players than most companies. Hell, Most companies don't do jack nor sqwat for their players. This is one company I will continue to buy games from safe in the knowledge that I am going to have a blast, see incredible scenery, have a plethora of skills to chose from, have a blast at Festivals and Events, and so on and so on.
Name one RPG where there is not some sort of grind.
Guild Wars: Prophecies, Guild Wars: Factions. There you go.

I think you confused overpowered with ABUSED. Because there always are abused builds with all games, wherever and whenever. Hammeradins in Diablo 2, crit scythe clerics in NwN, snipers in Enemy Territory (abused = CAMP THE HELL OUT OF THEM AND NOT HELP TEAM WITH SMOKE GRENADES), critlock assassins in Ragnarok, rouges in WoW, God Knows What in Hello Kitty Online Adventure. But there should NOT be an overpowered build that is stronger than anything else or is as strong, requiring a lot less skill or none.

Probably that's why A.Net doesn't have an official forum.

have a plethora of skills to chose from
[Ursan Blessing], [Resurrection Signet], [Healer's Boon], [Glyph of Lesser Energy], [Heal Party], [Ethereal Light]. That's a lot of skills.

Thanks Anet.
Why so little? I'd say ,,Thank you almighty A.Net, for not caring about players, Overlords of poor community relations, Archbishops of the Church of Ignoring Druids, Masters of Tardiness and Slowness''. For me, it's a company that made 2 great games, 1 good and 1 average that almost cancelled out the good things about previous ones.
if gw1 and the sport and lack of patches and new content that we are getting now is any indication of what gw2 will be like then no.
its always funny to me to see stuff like this. they are working on a new game, not a new expansion. and thus need the hole team of programmers not half, like they were doing in the old system of makeing two games at once.

with only one programmer left behind for what i am guessing is bug fixes and small updates every mouth of three, asking for new content and complaining when it dosen't happen seems kinda unreasonable.
and really would you rather have them get gw2 out sooner, or try to fix gw1 to every players wants, only to have people get trough the new content, then complain about needing more to hold them over till gw2, which at that point is pushed back to 2013.

You may hope it will fail but there are millions who still enjoy it and are looking forward to the sequel so it's not fair for you to hope it fails just because you don't want to play it. Go ahead and play Diablo 3, but some want to play Guild Wars 2. So just because you don't want to play it and hope it fails doesn't mean the rest of us have to suffer.

thats my point based on gw1, gw2 will be grand for the first part and then they will go make gw2 expansion. and leave little to no suport for the game.

so your saying even in the start of factions that gw1 had "little to no support"?
i'd say that's where its at now, but expansions and new games are two different things.
or by gw2 expansion do you mean gw3? which i'd say if it ever happened, its a long way off, why worry about it.
Being a 'mature' gamer, I'd like to stick with a game where 'l33t speak' isn't wanted or tollerated.
While I intially liked the idea of a no monthly fee game, I've found that it has the tendency to attract anybody and everybody. Hand that griefer-kid a game to shut him up. and let him/her be an ass to a gaming community. No thanks.
And, paying per month usually ads to the quality and upgrades to the game. Not always, but usually.
While I can't say for sure, after all we are talking about something that's not even coming out for a couple of years at least... right now I say naw, not interested in GW2.
well as I see it there will always be a demand for Guild Wars 1.
I am sure that AN will put enough good stuff into GW2 to make getting those 3 year titles worth while.
I am currently getting the LDoA title on a war and then I will move on from there. Also they are making the titles account based so that You ca see all of the titles on an account so that is good since LDoA and Survivor are mutually exclusive.
I am sure that I will be getting gw2 as there will be some things that are fantastic about the game when it first comes out. I will not make the mistake of deleting some of the stuff that I have gotten in gw1 that is for sure.
