It's possible. Have you ever done software development? Some things take time to do, especially debugging. Estimating the time it will take to fix a bug is tricky, so I'd much rather have them give an indeterminate time as opposed to saying "fixed in two days! No, wait, sorry, two more days. While I'm very annoyed the XTH is down and we still haven't received points (and it's sounding like we may not get them next month either), I have to say something to the people who bought more accounts JUST for the XTH: How about while it's down you play the game? Fine, you want more keys every month, but to those of you saying your other accounts are now useless, you could play through the game and get money that way. Like missions, quests (especially the Kaineng ones), etc. add up pretty quickly. Just as a temporary issue. Play through the game like everyone else and don't spend real life money to get in-game money. That just doesn't make sense to me.

To the people who didn't buy the extra accounts or don't like the fact that others have bought the accounts for extra Xkeys.. QQ at ANet not me. I, we did not design the game features. You gonna have people self motivated to bash the XTH cause they only have one account and hate the fact that someone else may have 5 and get 5 times as much every month, that is understandable but why hate the player? do you blame them for buying a copy for 4.99 at amazon.com? Blame ANet for inviting it to happen so they can sell more copies. And by the way... who do you think is paying ANet employees for making other updates and generally keeping ANet employees paid? People who bought extra accounts, name changes, makeovers ect ect.

They did not promise that it would be fixed in a day, or a week, or whatever. They were saying "wait a day and hopefully we'll have an idea of what caused it and have it working properly." When it obviously turned out to be something that an overnight fix wouldn't cut it for, they changed the estimated time. And now, since it's apparently quite a large fix that's required, they're not giving an estimated time so that if it takes longer than they expect, people can't whine.

They've been giving estimates. Not hard deadlines. Do you know what 'estimate' means? It's an approximation. It's not a hard timeline and hardly anyone expects an estimate to be held to as though it actually were a specific timeline.

Anet does not set the price that amazon or newegg sell copies at, btw. And I certainly doubt that they tell them to sell for under their suggested retail price. Meaning? Those copies you bought on amazon for $5? Doubtful that Anet actually made any profit from that sale.

Seriously, though, since you have extra accounts - wouldn't you rather they take it down for a while to try and identify, hammer out, and fix as many of the bugs as they possible can, so it works properly in the future? Or would you rather it continue in its broken state? Or does it not matter so long as you get your z-keys?

Actually you are very sad.

One of those things are something that gw hope people do (buying more accounts) and the other gw will ban you for. So you think however you may, but sadness is your logic.

As for XTH, it's a bummer it's still down without a correction date, I would guess that the earliest it would go back into functionality would be after this months mAT so that they dont have to worry about everyone and their brother's uncle bumrushing it and destroying it.

Still, I ain't gonna ride them on it. Debugging is a bitch, especially when you have a bug like this, that doesn't manifest consistently (some players got all points, many got none, many got wrong amounts...). I can only imagine how bad it must be on the backend.

If I wasn't trying to hunt down just such a mandelbug in my own project today, my heart would bleed for them, and I hope they don't give up and scrap the whole thing. As it is, though, unfortunately, my stomach is doing all the bleeding for the rest of my organs. =\

its the retail business anet makes the same amount off every copy no matter whatrs its sold as the ones that take the hit are the retailers. the retailer may get a small kickback if they sell a lot of products. the sale is to bring you in then they hope you buy something else along the way

1) The people that are spending money on extra accounts have already beaten everything possible. Not to mention how boring playing a campaign that you've beaten 6 or 7 times depending on how many chars you went through. Also, for me, buying things is the only real fun thing to do anymore. Let people do as the want.

2) Don't tell people how to spend their money. Anet knew when the put up XTH people would buy more accounts and is the main reason why we have it.

I thought it would be today, but it's getting a little late for that. I also can't imagine it being to much longer considering they have all the information, so they told us.

Because you can generate more money by playing NORMALLY with more than 1 account, right?

Dual-boxing is painful and it doesn't necessarily generate more money for you. Besides, I doubt we're talking about 1 extra account here.

I think this is the best thing to do. Take it down. Fix it once and for all and only then put it back. I prefer to wait for couple of months for correct content than every time read those whining threads regarding missing points.
Anyway for those who bought accounts just for XTH. Is it anywhere mentioned on the box or instruction or wherever that XTH is standard part of the game you bought? I was checking mine and could not find anything...

The only point you bring is about having too high expectations. XTH issues appeared every (or every second) month. Many people did not get their points not only this time but many times in the past as well. Sometimes it was fixed sometimes was not. So why the hell you expected them to work this time?
Moreover if I understood your example you made your plans on the basis of a lottery, in which you assumed you will win? You could have got just 5rp per account. In which case making plans for winnings do not make much sense in my opinion. You could have got peanuts even if XTH worked properly... (not mentioning the cases that people got much less rp than they should)
