Do people complaining about kegs honestly think that paying 100g to spam infinite damage and knockdowns without equipping any skill, equipment, or using an item is remotely balanced? Now you have to put damage skills on your bar like any other build. Get over it.

I just ran up there to check. He was there. (I had the Z-bounty quest active) Check to see if you've got "Cold touch of the past" in your quest log, as that one will cause him to not spawn. If you've already done that quest, but not the follow-up, he won't spawn until the follow-up quest - "Hallowed Point" - has been completed.

Another idea would be for it to make damage from elementalist spells armor ignoring.

They could also add something to energy storage for a damage boost if you want to keep it to primary elementals only.
"For each rank of Energy Storage, your maximum energy increases by 3. Damage Spells you cast gain 2% armor penetration per point of Energy Storage in PvE."
or something like that...

I'm starting to think the Duke Nukem Forever team were hired by Anet to manage GW1. Things that need changing they ignore, things that no-one gives a toss about they change, things that should have been done, like skill balancing, are delayed without reason, not only was the XTH a massive failure with it being impossible to vote, but the distribution of points is now delayed.
Seriously what gives Anet... or is it too much to expect a response from Howler Monkeys.

You want HM to be even tougher? Then a Flare from a regular mob is a one shot kill.

My preferences?
Make CoP strip the feeder hex when used (so a single Mesmer can still use it effectively in a similar manner to Shatter Delusions, but so that cryway teams would need to pull of some impressive coordination to get their spike).
Shorten the duration of Shadow Form to it's PvP level, but remove the downside, making it an effective survival aid without making it permanent or near-certain death when it wears off.

Each profession was designed to have it's own strengths and weaknesses. Monks were intended to be the ultimate healers and protters. Eles were supposed to be the best nukers. Mesmers were supposed to mess with people. Necros were supposed to curse and support and MM. Warriors were supposed to tank and deal damage. Rangers were supposed to be versatile ranged attackers. Assassins were supposed to be squishy but powerful melee attackers. Dervishes were supposed to be melee AoE tanks. Ritualists were supposed to be midway between monks and eles. And Paragons were supposed to be midway between warriors and monks.
Instead, this is what we have:
Eles tank better than warriors. And Assassins, well, they are infinitely better tanks than any other character.
Monks can nuke better than Eles.
Eles can heal better than monks.
Assassins and Warriors are better melee AoE than dervishes.
Necros are better rits than rits.
Paragons just plain suck.
And you don't find any of this to be a problem?
EDIT: I do, however, appreciate the fact that Anet was kind enough to make statements to the community so soon about this. It shows you care about us, at the very least.
|
And in PvE at least...
Rangers are better at messing with spellcasters than Mesmers (hello Daze)
Elementalists and Necroes are much better at messing with physicals than Mesmers (Blind, Weaken)

Not a bad idea... I'd probably be inclined to have them be armour-ignoring at a slightly lower base damage, though - thus making it more of a safety net for elementalists in HM than completely breaking the balance between elementalists and armour-ignoring professions.
To stop it from being a downside, it could be made that with Intensity, Elementalist skills treat, say, all ALs greater than 80 as 80, but treat ALs less than 80 normally.

If i was this sloppy in my job id get fired. And as for Regina saying they can't discuss the actual schedules of updates. Do you want to keep players guessing for the rest of the games existence? Thats whats driven most people away, waiting and more waiting!

Every single month we used to have a skillupdate, sometimes not big, usually shit, but it changed the meta. The last update was a step in the right direction, so I kinda got my hopes up. Guess they will just postpone stuff a few months again, the usual PVE is more important/ GW2 excuse.

Did you even look at the changes they made regarding PvE? Compared to the glaring issue with RoJ not causing scatter and been miles better than every fire AoE out there damage wise, the changes they made were absolutely meaningless.
And of course to make things better i log on this morning to find they've somehow screwed up the Z-quests too. Seriously the GW1 team is RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing useless.

I don't know why Anet would bother to nerf title farms this late in this game's life. Just let the people get their titles fast and be done with it so we can play better games and have something special in GW 2.
I mean if you're going to allow them as long as you did, don't just go and take it away. Taking it away right away is one thing, but almost 2 years?? ..jeesh.
Oh well.

Regarding the AB rez orb

i don;t think it was a cheat at all. i thought it was a beautiful mechanic that not many people used. both teams could do it and it required that you had either the elite ele or elite warrior with you when you had control of the rez orb. when the other team took the warrior or ele shrine and your elite npc died, you rez it and then you go back to the shrine and take it over. ta da... you now have 2 elite warriors etc etc.
it was not a cheat, it was a skillful tactict that worked for both sides. the idea was to make sure you got back to the rez orb shrine in time so that your elite npc didn;t die to early when the other team capped it again. it took skill. ANet has killed it cause too many noobs were not smart enough to work it out or not skillful enough to be able to make it work.

I wish someone would actually explain your chaotic process of coming out with an update. Is it like making an Amendment to the US constitution? That's how you guys working over at A-Net make it seem.

I want to know that too. And I want to add another question I asked on the other forum: Can someone point me to what Regina is doing all the time?

RoJ Nerf in the Making: Instead of thinking of nerfing RoJ, they need to nerf Mind Blast Distortion nubcakes. They all are running around everywhere in pvp, i noticed that they have some in FA and JQ now. Its just annoying that they run spamming the elite, and every time a Sin/War/Derv goes to attack...Distortion= Cant hit me Ha Ha Ha!!!
Keg Farming: This was the only thing really that beginners had that was easy to farm. I mean, its not hard, you get 7-14k in drops, golds towards the wisdom title, and everything else above.
To be Honest, this game is getting so boring and not fun with all these skill nerfs. But its whatever though, its not like any of us can change it or do anything. Cant wait till they nerf Shadow Form though, gonna be alot of mad people

Good to see RoJ nerf being looked at, no doubt it will be nerfed before xmas 2010 given the devs answer of having to look at numbers, pass QA and then be reverified before any nerf (what have they been doing for past 6 months when ppl have pointed out how OP it is???)
I see a few ppl have mentioned SF nerf (as nothing mentioned by devs yet again) maybe a viable nerf would be to make it the sin version of Mist Form? cannot take phys dmg but can still be targetted by spells, that alone would kill a lot of perma tanking as they will have to rely on an SB monk per sin.

Nerfing 600 is harder, as it actually depends on the symbiosys of skills (Prot Spirit, Spirit Bond) and the whole way damage is dealt and calculated. As neither Spirit Bond nor Prot Spirit is broken in itself, there's no reason to touch those.
About nerfing 55s ... go ahead, remove "Cities of Ascalon" Cestas from the game. Retroactive. I'd support it, even though in the face of 600hp and PermaSins it's hardly a shadow of its former beauty.
|
You show yourself to be really dumb since you dont even know how 55 and 600/smite builds work. If ANet wants to nerf farming the best way to go about this is to just nerf Protective Spirit like what they did for Protective bond. Both 600 and 55 should be made obsolete since their goal is to really prevent people from farming as much as possible.
PS is way overpowered. A single monk is not suppose to be able to solo UW, people are suppose to team up for elite areas. BOTH these skills should be nerfed IF they are serious about stopping farming otherwise just nerfing SF wouldn't stop monk farmers at all.
And please stop with the stupid "oh...nerfing 600 is really really hard" bullshit. If ANet seriously wants to kill that build, it is really easy, just nerf pve PS to oblivion and it is gone.

Why even bother anymore? This game gets no care at all, it's a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing joke. I'm tired of all this bullshit, reroll to Proph only and go back to when the game was actually fun.

PvE balance while consumables, (nerf RoJ pop essence of celerity and voila Feast of Corruption everyone. Of course it wont happen because Cry of Pain is still there), monster and PvE only skills and, environmental effects (including the HM mob buff) exist is a utopia.
Most people don't want balance btw - they want a harder game and especially make titles harder for those that don't have them yet.
Balanced games are quite easy vs a stupid AI.
