I am sure Regina, Linsey, Mark's, ECT inboxes are going to be crammed full of players trying to get into this testing thing. ANET has to be sure they get the right peeps for this "job". This will basically be a job hiring process they will have to go through to accomplish this. And on top that, there is going to be a lot of pressure and trust placed on everyone taking part in this thing to get the job done right. So I do hope that this process is handled like a job process, and not a weapon design or Halloween contest. Or this will reflect badly on all the parities involved with this proposal.

If so just remove the option.

My thoughts too.
First they need to decide what exactly is the problem with heroway that henchemen will solve. Is it that heroes are better than players? If so, then are they just pampering to the requests of poor players?
If there are specific build combos on heroes that are the problem then I would rather they restricted hero builds a bit, but reverting to hence is such a retrograde step I really don't think they have thought what the problem is, or even if there really is one?

I think that you're mising the wider point behind what Regina posted to be honest.
I'll look forwards to applying for the Testing once we have more information/ that there will be a few extra suprises alongside the update.

I was under the impression that a select group of players already tested updates before they went live. (see izzie's forum) Is that not true anymore?

I hope you like what we have in store!~
lol'd
anyway,
ntroducing a Guild Wars Live Test Krewe to help test upcoming updates and skill changes. We’re opening up the testing process to players, and if you are selected you will be able to access our test server and directly interact with our developers! We’ll put up an application form on our website once we finalize all the details. Two things in advance: due to legal reasons, you need to be at least 18 if you want to apply, and you need to speak and write English fluently.
Sounds pretty awesome, testing skills that will crash the client before it gets released ^^

I suck really bad at English, but I have learned that the word 'got' can be dropped from the English language as it has no real use, and sounds yucky.

Heroes were a problem a few months ago but aren't really a big deal anymore. The damage has already been done and anet was slow as HELL acting on it so all in all the hero/henchmen in pvp update is for the most part worthless.
Kind of like now how everyones complaining about bspam/iway, but they will let it thoroughly screw with pvp for a few months then will act on it when it's way too late. Nice.
As for the players being testers, you know why they chose to tell us that now. This last update showed that the dev team for GW is clearly having major issues doing their jobs and players will now take their job since they're about to go to rehab or some shit like that.

It's just a very informal word, nothing you'd want to use whilst writing something of importance.

the player tester krewe does sound interesting. however, i feel like it will just turn out like the alpha testing program of old: everyone pushing their own agendas and not really accomplishing much. it all depends on how clearly the roles are defined.

Is it official and everything? (As in, legal bullcrap and everything?)
Or is it really a player made committee that can comment and test skill updates?
If so, I'll be applying for HA (I'm over 18, and I have EXTENSIVE HA experience). God, Can U imagine, me actually balancing all that OP crap?

Will there be a NDA on skill tests or other things that the testers experience on the test server?

How about Krytan Shakedown?

Reserving judgment on what comes from the test "krewe" but could work.

If henchie bars look something like:
Empathic Smiter
Tainted Necro
SF Ele
Curse Degen Spam
They wouldn't be completely useless. Of course, that's because it isn't far from being a decent hero template.
I'm all for rolling scrubs with 4 people, ogden and co, so pretty pissed at this, but if Anet wants some actually good hench bars like above this can be workable.

The cynic in me feels that any bugs that get through after the creation of the live krewe will be blamed on said krewe.
Nevertheless I can speakth the english, and am old enough so I will consider applying.
