I share OP feelings. Everytime I join European guild it dies in 3 months. I was doing my best in the one I am in currently to make it active and I give up. The problem is that there is really no good option out there.

actually no,

I know for certain that these guilds and alliances have friendly players online 24/7 because they have players from all over the world.

if you aim to join a guild that adhere to a specific needs cater to you, its pretty hard to find one, if you go for one that has players on 24/7 its easier. Why do one join a guild? so you get to play with your guildies and alliances, if you join one that don't have activities, even if its from your same region, its useless.

I used to be in a guild that is from my country, there's a lot of players, but only 2 ever log on! and 2 ever talk, me and someone I play with occassionally, even now. they are the only person ever to log on and has since become the guild leader

Novel idea for guild members: if you want activities, rather than waiting for the Guild Leader and Officers to devote their free time to setting them up, why not set it up for them. If you're worried you'll get shot down for it, ask. I think most Guilds and those that run them would be grateful for the initiative - after all if you're not willing to make the effort, why should anyone else. Overall the guild benefits from more frequent and varied activities from this kind of approach. Not saying it suits everyone, or every guild, but something to think about.

I find myself rarely disagreeing with you.

EU players have a hard time, but it's not for the reasons discussed in this thread.

The main problem is the fact a huge majority of EU players (except german and french) moved to American districts. There are now more Europeans than Americans in the American districts (except when it's late night 2AM+ in eu).

This has a significant effect on the comfort of play for us - I'm talking about latency - for me Euro servers have pings around 70-150 and American (incl. international and asian) servers have 200-300 ping for me. I believe the difference is as clearly visible for everyone else aswell.

There are other negative side effects to having the euro playerbase concentrated in US districts, like new players from EU experiencing empty Euro districts, not knowing they should move to American.

A solution would be making the Party Search system work cross-regions. Another would be changing the PvE instance creation system to work in the way it already does in PvP - every battle instance is created on either Euro or American server, completely *independantly* of outpost district where parties started. Instead the system counts which region has more representing individual players and creates the instance on that server.
It should be the same in PvE - when a team of Euro players who met in an American outpost district (because Euro districts are friggin' empty) starts a mission/explorable instance, that instance should be created on a server located in Europe.
It works in PvP, it would increase the comfort of play in PvE aswell.

...I'm so sorry, Yawgmoth, but I'm not sure if I should sympathise with you or fervently wish for 200 ping on an American server.

I think by and large everyone who can speak English tends to congregate in the American servers because they're the most populated - unless they want privacy, in which case the emptier districts will serve just as well. But those groups aren't going to care about taking people in.

I like this idea.
