Does anyone else have the urge to shout AEGIS REFLECTOR very loudly?

Yeah I'm sure heros can use those skills
And motivation is totally useless now that there is no way to provide healing while waiting for your 20 sec recharge skills to cool down
Paragons did have a viable healing role next to monks and ritualists thanks to Finale of Restoration. But what healing do they have left now?
Song of Restoration [elite]
10 energy, 20 second recharge, heals for 114. I remember the days when this wasn't nerfed to hell and cost 5 energy with a 10 second recharge, like it should be!
Mending Refrain
10 energy for +3 health regeneration, it used to be +4 and it used to have a 20 second duration, now it's just 15. Yes this can really compete with Healing Breeze, hah.
Aria of Restoration
10 energy for 94 health if a spell is cast. Okay I guess. Wait, 20 second recharge, forget it!!!
Ballad of Restoration
10 energy for 79 healing if damage is taken. Got a huge nerf. Again 20 second recharge makes it useless.
Chorus of Restoration
4 adrenaline, 5 sec recharge, heals for 94 when target uses a shout/chant. Pretty awesome but unfortunately not everyone can use a shout/chant. Basically the only unnerfed paragon skill due to it never seeing any use due to the situational nature.
As you can see, without Finale of Restoration, the healing role is dead as all the healing skills are already nerfed to hell with their extreme recharges. Finale of Restoration basically transformed useless skills into healing skills made both those useless skills and healing viable.

Works fine with GWx2. Load a single copy of GW, let it update. Then copy the updated .exe to your second GW folder. Run GWx2... first copy works, second copy downloads .dat updates and then works. No problem.

those were mostly nerfed (killed ?) before the pve/pvp split, and should be added to the long list of skills that should be reverted for pve, but things are going too slowly

Better teams always put aegis on song guy, because song+stab > aegis. Also, leech sig or cry > aegis. Its all the same after the "nerf".

Yeah, the old Sand Shards was one of my favourite Dervish skills. Niche, but very powerful in the right circumstances... and isn't that part of what Guild Wars and the ability to reconfigure your build for a particular zone is all about?
The new version... could be interesting, but I'll certainly miss the old.

I've been playing with the new Enraged Smash lately, too. Is... interesting. Not quite at the level of Earthshaker, Dragon Slash, Warrior's Endurance or Hundred Blades, but certainly playable.

I was wondering who'd be the first to notice that. Level 20 minions, anyone? (AotL plus this...) Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. As people have said, MMs are powerful enough already.

Hrrmn. If you're using this in PvP, this could be a prelude to un-Smiter's Booning Smiter's Boon - they can figure out what they think the right amount of Booning should be allowed with smiting and give that to Smiter's without worrying about it being combined with Divine.

Because it no longer stops after triggering once.
My own responses:
Pets good.
Lack of permasin nerf bad.
Dervish buffs don't seem to be enough due to the reasons Reaper stated, although they are on the whole a step in the right direction.
Hopefully they'll be looking at Mesmers in a month or so.

I disagree really. The bigger skills are just overpowered. Crippling Shot is a pretty balanced skill, but how easy is it to hit a Melshot?

The good:
* Pet love, just in time for me to start levelling my skittle chicken. Woo hoo.
* Dagger Sin buff FTW. It was always more fun to do the "ninja flip-out" with daggers than to swing a big ol' farming tool around.
* Shielding hands is... interesting. Not sure if they fixed the bug yet.
* No more gorram yeti roars and rabbit squeaks! Linsey, have my children!
The Bad:
* Mel's Shot PvE nerf. Not too bad though. After the last nerfbat, it was pretty meh in PvE anyway (probably why they didn't bother to split it)
* Finale of Restoration PvE Nerf - RIP Motigon.
The Ugly:
A special hugz and kissez to the Perma-ranters:

If you really wanted, you could have 12x lvl22 minions already before the update (pve) with aura, grenth blessing, a grail, and a sugar like golden egg. Now its easier to get since you can take masochism and skip 2 of these things. In my dreams i have 13x lvl 24 minions, but there is a attribute cap of 20 so you cant get that. It would be fun but obviously too strong lol.

Mel shot? What? With this change, Expertise description should be change in:
Expertise - If you can spend points on this attribute, you are a Ranger so you will deal 0 damage in PvP while using a bow. You may inflict poison with your arrows and you have 25% to interupt a foe, but most likely you will be blocked and nuked by a Mindblast/Distorsion Ele.

All together i like this update. I do agree with a couple of the posts i saw that ask, what about my warrior??? ... Out of all the characters i have used, the least versatile would have to be the warrior. Hammer warrior is almost completely useless (from a PVE stand point, maybe better in PVP but i am not sure). I would love to see an update that balanced out the warrior a bit.
Having said that i think this update is nothing but beneficial. No more noisy drunks... woot woot!!
Also the bug fixes where on point. There where two on that list that i have come across first hand.
Keep in mind my opinion on the warrior is strictly from a PVE perspective, i am not as familiar with PVP as i am with PVE.
Also 33% damage reduction on pet damage intake, and a matching increase on output damage.... is it just me or does that seem a little drastic?

At first blush, perhaps. But keep in mind the relatively low stats of a pet, the fact that they're not party members (comes into play considering popularity of party buffs), and braindead AI. They lasted about as long as flesh golems in HM. It was very sad to watch Fluffy die every 12.7 seconds.
