Where exactly are we supposed to read above? All they've said is that there's some sort of legal issue with having minors help out, but no actual details regarding what or why.

My beta experience sections is 80 words and my reasons to join is 110 words...I don't know if it's a length thing or what. However, if they're going to restrict length, the application should say that there is a limit and what that limit is.

I've tried multiple times too with the Bad input error message. My posts were not all that long and didn't have any bizarre punctuation. Maybe the first test for this is figuring out what's wrong with the application.

Just for the record, it is very common for (succesful) MMOs to employ a test server program to help iron out issues in upcoming patches. And trust me; it has nothing to with any inability of employees to test their product.

Yeah, i'm getting the same error message as well. Don't worry folks, I doubt this many are typing a simple application form improperly. Just give ArenaNet some time to get it all fixed up.

i dont think you read my whole post.
i think the legal issue might be that minors would be more likely to brag to friend's and possibly leak info, im not saying it WOULD happen, just saying it COULD, then again, it could happen with anyone.

Well, over at the website I volunteer at, it's the fact that those under 18 can't legally sign an NDA. I would bet that's what it is.
Haven't tried submitting yet, but am copypasta into word just in case >_>

Participants must be 18 years or older.
Participants must sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
Minors cannot sign legal agreements.

I'm no labor law expert (a business partner of mine is, but I haven't asked him with this trivial affair), but I have a feeling the real legal reason is this:
a minor cannot work unpaid for a company or corporation.
alternatively, it may be possible that a minor cannot be legally bound by an NDA. A minor could sign one (that's not illegal), they just can't be legally bound by it.

Hmmm, 29 words in beta experience, 79 in "why" and it was still failing. My only punctuation was ',' '.' and one '?'
Then I got it to work. The last things I removed were the '?', but, I think more importantly, I removed all end of line/returns - so, basically listing things and hitting return may be messing it up (despite lists being a natural thing for stuff like 'beta experience'). You may need to write each section as a single paragraph.
