I got hit by the 72 hour ban bat for an inappropriate name. I have not gotten to log in yet to see which name it is but I assume it is "My Cunning Stunt" because I maxed the Kurzick title on that one, then logged off for about an hour and came back to find the ban. The character is well over 2 years old and I cannot for the life of me find it in violation of the naming policy:

Could it be indecent or obscene to have a character named My Clever Trick? For goodness sake Metallica had a live concert video called Cunning Stunts back in the '90's, you can buy that at Wal Mart (which restricts anything/everything at a whim).

Is it just me or is this a case of someone being overly sensitive?

I can see that, but is the policy to ban while the name is being looked at? I did tell someone in Doomlore that spamming for help on a nm quest is a waste of time, and he did call me a 4 letter word starting with C, I imagine that would be the reporter.

Don't assume; contact Support. Find out from them why your account was blocked. Argue your case with them if you wish, but be polite.

Don't kid yourself. You know what your name means, and you know why it was banned. If you don't want to deal with the inconvenience of a ban, there's a fairly simple solution: Don't try and test the limits of what you can get away with.

Are they too strict? Probably, but I'm not going to complain each and every time they flag an inappropriate name because their policy told them to.

i just had to deal w this bullshit 2 weeks ago....the good thing is they wont delete your character. you will get to rename him/her before you use them again.

TBH I didn't even notice his name meant anything as I only read it the censored way. the fact that he was whining my have influenced my opinion....

Now I really hate the I,L,X,V bullshit that leads to XxX Naurto Ninja XxX or IVI Sephiroth Killer IVI, but if they are going to start banning for that (which I wholeheartedly approve of) then at least be consistent with it.
