I have pretty much reached the point where I don't want to play anything other than warrior.
In PvE, I will only play warrior (one of my three) unless a specific location calls for something else (SF etc.).
In PvP, I will play any other profession if asked to, but I really would rather play warrior . Load up one of my 3 warriors (who are all PvPready) and let's go kill stuff! I love the feeling of being in the face of another team, being a leader on my team, and knowing that my good performance is crucial to a win. Oh, and I love yellow numbers and eating red bars for breakfast. No other profession even competes with the damage output of a good warrior.

My favorite class depends on where I am playing. My "title chaser" is an Ele. She can deal damage and play support as needed.
Should I decide to spend my online time in presearing, it could be any class. I have all 6 core classes and play them all. Account #1 has my W/R Charr farmer. Account #2 is my 'mule' account and has a W/ chasing gifts from Nicholas Sandford. Account #3 has all 6 core professions, a necro for the gifts, and the others for just killing things. All 6 are "perma pre".
Before Factions was released, I would have said Monk was my favorite class. How the game has changed.

Necro - Most versatile class
Mesmer - Most challenging all around and best looking!
Monk - Always in need, second most challenging

Mine is my Ele. Shes my title hunter and the one who ive put by far the most hours on. However, recently ive been getting interested in PVP and now am thinking of working on different chars like my ranger, mesmer and others

Warrior... because I like the idea of the cold reliability of strong steel in my characters hand and the anticipation that goes with the slow build of adrenaline on attack skills.

In all other games its the Elementalist sort of character, which is why my Ele was my first char. In GW though my favourite is my War because it takes a lot more skill to play the primary frontliner than in other games (from what I've seen anyway). It's also fun because I'm at the front of the action and can see everything firsthand, instead of being back out of the mess.

Ritualist.
Best-looking armour sets in the game; even their regular armour looks better than all other classes' elite armour.
Awesome animations.
Extremely versatile.
Challenging to play, sometimes.

Ranger for versatility and the fact that a ranger is a regular guy in a land of magic surviving with only his finely honed skills.

Although I don't play it, it has to be the Mesmer. It is very unique, as I have not seen it anything like it any other MMOs. But the main reason is that it's very powerful, especially Power Block, and it can shut down an entire bar or player.

Warrior. I am a melee type of person. I like the whole "fights bravely with his/her life at stake for the sake of his/her goals and/or comrades"
Not to mention the cool armor, weapons and well balanced damage (not weak or overpowered).
It's a must for me that she is female though. I truly admire strong and willful girls (and the heavy armor fetish kind of kicks in too lol! Vabbian armor ftw!!)

I know what you mean. I have a mesmer that I really don't play, as I never got my head round the style. But that doesn't stop me admiring those that can make it work - it's an awesome class.
For myself, in terms of playing enjoyment, I love Ritualist and Necro, though I mostly play as Monk. That's very satisfying playing too. I never got to grips with Warrior. Too much Melee. I prefer to stand back and get the overall picture. Ele is good but I haven't played it properly in ages. The others I play every now and then, but meh.
Summary: Probably Ritualist overall, but Monk is more team-friendly to play, as AI monks often suck, and I tend only to play alone or with my brother. (Who, bless him, is a 'rush-in-and-die' warrior. He's even played Ranger as primarily melee. I'm teaching him strategy now coz I just felt sorry for him.)

I'm going to have to say monk.
And it's not for a specific skill, its for the class.
I've always been more of a healer/party support type person.

I love my monk for different reasons:
first because i like (from a "fantasy background" point of view) to play a character who can heal, save teammates' life etc;
second because i prefer to stay in the backline, being able to control all the battlefield and to coordinate my team;
third because i think it's the most difficult and challenging profession to use (in PvP).
My second choice is probably the necro, for the huge damage he can deal (when used properly).

Have to say Ritualist. they may not have one clear spot where they shine, but they are can be used for many things such as healing, knock-downs, off-tank spirits, and melee DPS. they are probably the next best Hybrid class compared to Rangers.
