I don't think we'll get new content for a while, since most of the team are working on GW2.

Who knows for sure. If ANet know (and they should, if no one else) then they aren't telling us.
They said back in January, larger 'content updates' would appear every 3-4months, separate from the regular monthly maintenance build. I guess we'll see by the end of August if thats true.
Sometimes it would be nice if a CR could confirm ahead of time something like this, but again as we've seen, that's not how they roll.
Companies do announce announcements. "At this event we're gonna reveal something big!". That builds up excitement and anticipation, but that's not how they roll
Apparently silence is the new fun.

I sincerely doubt anything is coming this month. We'll probably get some news/hype when they have an actual timeline, which would be at least a month before.

Should be a new update that adds something because they did say they would add something major every "quarter" and the last one was like 4 months ago...

A.Net says a lot of stuff that they find out they just can't do. There is a lot they would like to do to this game and get done by certain deadlines. It is actually very rare that they have been able to deliver things on time or at all though. This really shouldn't be a surprise to people if there is no content update every 3 or 4 months. It isn't the first time a.net has failed to live up to their word and it won't be the last. Take everything they say with a grain of salt.

There's a chance of a small update that might fix anything the previous August update broke. Other than that I wouldn't expect anything major unless XTH gets fixed anytime soon.

This month should hold the "PvP loving" update from the live team.

theyre 'supposed' to, but the current update addressed some major issues (mel shot, MB eles in gvg).
unless its something like a longterm fix to lifestealing, i honestly dont know what more they are supposed to be fixing.

Tbh I'm expecting only 1 more big update this year, probably 1-2 months from now. ANet won't give us massive content updates every 3-4 months, so don't get excited about them until ANet confirms they'll have one on the month they announce it.

Dude don't you know by now Anet LIES and has been lying since origional release. Gaile lied Regina Lies Martin lies they all lie to apease the mob. They said new chapters every 6 months well that was a lie now wasn't it? New skill updates every month well that was another lie now wasn't it? New content update every four months well that was another lie wasn't it?
The working around words of that Gwen content that if you didn't buy it when it was a special you wouldn't get it. Those weren't the exact words but 99% of the people here will tell you that's what they thought it meant. A play on words is just as bad as a lie to me. They marketed it as FREE if you preordered GWEN from THEM and then everyone else has to pay $10 lol. Then these storage upgrades for $10 each lmao. Didn't they say they would never put CORE content in the Store for sale? Huh? Didn't they? yes they did. Last I recall storage is CORE content.

Extra (keyword being "extra" here) storage isn't core content.

The quarterly update is still to come, and a good sign that it will soon be released is when a monthly update is delayed. Probably next month or October.

Stating your intentions and then being unable to carry them out is not lying.
ANet delivered new chapters on a regular schedule until they changed their plans and decided to develop GW2. They never promised new chapters every six months for eternity! Where is the lie?
Skill updates have, by and large, been done on a monthly basis. How many times in the last few years has a month gone by without a skill update? Not many. Again, where is the lie?
They said they wanted to start producing larger content updates every 3-4 months. It appears that this idea was a little over-ambitious for the resources available to the Live Team, but these are not the first developers to miss a deadline. Where is HL2:Ep3? Where is Sam & Max season 3? Missing a development goal is a common thing, and it doesn't mean the developers are liars.
Unless you have some proof that Gaile, Regina, or Martin KNEW FOR A FACT that their statements would prove incorrect, then you are way out of line for calling them liars.

I'm really not expecting anything PvE related. Though if I were, I wouldn't mind the following:
1. Elite Areas for the other Gods (Dwayna, Lyssa, Melandru, Kormir): I know DoA seems like the Kormir realm, but I put that on the same level as Sorrow's/Urgoz/Deep/Slavers which are campaign specific. The God Realms to me are beyond the campaigns.
2. Elite Area Staging Grounds: I think each God's area should have a core staging ground that you can go to. If you only have Prophecies, and your friend only has Nightfall (I don't know how you became friends, but go with it), then you could go through the ToA and he could go through the CoS to get to the UW or FoW staging area and you could play together. Maybe even just make a new shrine room at the GToB as a core location so that everyone can get to the God Realms together.
3. New heroes: We still need another Mesmer, Assassin, Ritualist, and Paragon so that (at least in PvE) there are three of each profession. We also need a PvP-exclusive Derv to make up for MOX being PvE only. I say put them in the two campaigns with the least amount of heroes: Prophecies and Factions (help breathe new life into them as well as give characters more options if they just go to NF to get the basic heroes and go back). Based on what I've seen on forums, some popular choices include...
Kurzick Mesmer (Factions)
Margonite Paragon (Prophecies -- Can be found in the Crystal Desert, quest given by a Forgotten)
Grawl Ritualist (Prophecies)
Tengu Assassin (Factions)
Zaishen Priest Dervish (Core, unlocked only through Balth Faction)
4. The ability to trade in skill points for something. I wouldn't mind if it was makeover credits, zkeys, money, reputation points, whatever, something that wouldn't break the economy.
5. Support for other high-end weapons in the Hall of Monuments (Gold Deldrimor Weapons, BMP weapons, etc.)
