Be sure to PM me when that gets up. I'm really wanting to listen. Butchered out music or not.
But on topic, they could have done the info and announcement better, but what is done is done. And if Anet wanted to increase the Live Team (which they are continue to do) to the point of being able to add new areas or even harder to do, new expansions (let's just leave out the idea of campaigns, no need for new professions), then either it would take a bit off of GW2, or cost them much more. Yes you need to spend money to stimulate the economy, but that phrase, right now, is going to the buyers. I.e., people need to buy more, not pay employees more, to stimulate the economy more.
If there is ever an intention to add more content to GW1, then it would/should be done after GW2's initial release. Say, after all the concept art is done, the artists work for the Live Team for a new EN-sized expansion/update. Whether they do or don't add new content to GW1 at that point, though, wouldn't matter that much.

The music was nice too! I liked both sets of our CMs and would like it only for that. Linsey's interview was the climax ofc, she has a very sweet voice .

Such a decision would have been made one or two years ago, because of all the planning required (budget, work, recruitment, etc.). The Live Team expansion is the result of their actual plans, so don't expect more, given that in a years time (the time it'd take to action plans decided now) there'll be more info on GW2, so less incentive to discover new stuff in GW1.

I only said that the Live Team is still expanding because Linsey has said (multiple times) that they will hire a writer. And unless they found one without ever putting up applications, they don't have that new writer, just a new designer.

I fit into this description. If some indie-shop were to put out a blatant GW clone and charge $15/mo for it, I'd be done with GW. I play because I like the GW style, not because it's "free."
I voted #1 because I do beleive they are handling it badly; not because they are taking so long with information (I love how people think "innovative" features will appear like magic in competing projects though. Who needs programmers?), but because they all but abandoned a good game for, based on what little information they leaked, a not-so-good game that may never see the light of day.

What's a GW-like game? Cus, DDO comes awfully close without the good PvP... I don't feel like any other MMO has PvP as good as GW.

You would be surprised at the turn-around time between design and implementation at a company like Blizzard. And trust me, the games industry is ALL about stealing ideas.

I believe you are in the minority.
I wouldn't pay monthly for Guild Wars, it's a psychological thing. I hate feeling that I have to play, or I'm wasting money. Guild Wars is the perfect casual MMORPG for me.
As long as GW2 remains free to play, and is casual friendly I could care less about level cap or lack of henchies/heroes. It's all about how these things are implemented, of course, I'm not going to pay for a grind-heavy WoW clone (does anybody expect it to be?)

Agreed. 5 bucks says that WoW will implement wings and steal Aion's main gimmick if Aion becomes a hit.

They have already had flying mounts for a few years, which are the same thing, just a different graphic.
I wonder if GW2 will have flying of any sort though, seems to be in the in thing these days.

i would pay for a perfect gw clone with excellent support and monthly content updates. if i am not confident with the changes being made, i just cancel my subsciption and the devs will notice it.
don't get me wrong. i don't blame anet for reducing the support in any way, since i know the reasons and prefer a new product with all-new features over an old one which has a limited potential.
i am expecting anet to learn from their past mistakes, because they told us that they made many and that they've learned - nothing more and nothing less.

What was the reasoning behind this anyway? Is it just because lower level players don't "deserve" to have them? Because if so, that's hilarious.

I think its a good addition, however personally I think its a run up to whatever they add in the new Cataclysm expansion

I meant what was the reasoning behind people getting mad about it - it sounds fine to me - but I've been off topic for long enough by now.

Basically because for all those that ground up the cash to buy them and had to wait longer got pissy that new people can get them earlier and for cheaper
However there are different levels of mounts with faster running speeds now as you get higher in level, so it does balance out

Just because a bunch of people bitch and moan for something doesn't mean they should get it. That would make us a bunch of spoiled brats.

That's not how a petition works. As for the fan thing, what?

While while that question is answerable, it would be a very rough estimate in which you're not really going to learn much seeings how the game, while playable (according to them) needs a lot more work seeings how it won't come out for at least 2 years.

@ Legendm - agreed
Ya know, a year ago I felt the same way about this long wait for the game, but then I realized something: GW2 isn't the only game that I've been waiting a long time for. And besides, if they're taking this long because they want to make sure it's right, then more power to 'em... I'll wait for "awesome" rather than settle for "okay". People have debated the reasons why ANet/NCSoft have withheld information about GW2 since the last tidbit of info hit the wiki a year ago. Who cares why? Yes, I can't wait for it to come out... I'm ready to preorder my copy as soon as it is possible. But, I can wait. Maybe because I'm old, cranky, and pokey. Nevertheless, if they had to adjust things because of other projects, or didn't want to interfere with the release of Aion, that is just business folks. Thats how it works. It doesn't mean they're not working any less on GW2... timing is everything in gaming. I am a systems administrator in a huge company, and work beside programmers daily. These things take time.... when one little bug comes up, its anywhere from a few nights to a few weeks of nights searching through code to see whats causing the bug.
At any rate, people just need to be patient. And I know all the young folks have trouble with that word, but trust me, patience does pay off. Besides, it looks to me like some things are starting to happen. I have the feeling that after the release of Aion, we'll start to see some GW2 information either trickle in, or barge in on us. My gold's on PAX being the first of it... but who knows. You can never tell with these things.
Anyway, to get back on TOPIC here: I chose the 3rd: "The lack of information is understandable, and I think ArenaNet is handling the situation well".
Although, I think they're "handling the situation" as best they can considering the timing necessary for multiple releases from one company. I would agree that they could handle it somewhat better, but I'm not so frazzled about it as others seem to be. It will get here, and we'll still be here. Then these threads will fall into oblivion, replaced by new discussions about what we've seen.
