I'm sick of this now. It's NOT my connection.
I vanquish 70%+ of an area then get error 7'd out without the option of reconnecting. Can someone at anet please tell me when I can start reliably playing again without wasting time and consumables?

Its getting to the point im not going to log into guild wars no more, Anet need to pull there finger out and sort this, trying to GvG tonight, 5 members got err 7 came back went again then got 60k pings followed up err 7, this has been on going now for 3+ weeks,
If this is Anets way of making people want to jump to GW2 its not working, if they dont sort this, i wont be bothering with GW2 either as i cant see anything improving.
Come on ANET get it sorted, acknowledge the issue at hand then fix it.

Today has been especially bad here in Columbus, Ohio. Massive lag spikes and plenty of disconnects. So many I could not play. I was in the Asuran zones when most of it happened. But I did not check the rest of the game.
Not my connection or ISP. I fired up WoW, got on my Hunter and spent about an hour questing and rambling around conducting great massacres of the wildlife in Borean Tundra. Not a hint of lag, solid fps, 100 ms or so average. Flawless performance.
Maybe ANet is doing some server work, or maybe their ISP has problems.

Heh. Same here. Though occasionally I get a 1k ping at times when I'm not rubberbanding.

So i contacted support last night to ask them about this issue, they asked me to run a game advisory tool they use, send them the results,
There answer to me was
Your GFX drivers are out of date.
So this to me clearly shows that support either have
1 no clue whats going on, or what a Ping is
2 know exactly whats wrong, but just look for any excuse.

Had it during HA last night. Very annoying . No indication of lag (green ping) and then all of sudden you just freeze for 3 seconds...

I too contacted support.
the first email i sent i decided to attach the results from the "test my pc" link on the login screen.
it appears they ignored this as they asked me to download the game advisor tool as well and send them those results which appear to be the same thing anyway....
then they told me to disable services and stuff and restart and try again....
I was also told that as i stated in my first email "ping spiking up to 40k+ before another disconnect" ....
"If your connection's latency was actually that high you would never connect to the game servers at all, much less be able to play for a bit before noticing lag and being forcibly disconnected."
yes im pretty sure i was in game when i noticed what my ping said....
/sigh

I have several screen shots of the game showing the ping indicator at 50k+ so they will be getting sent them today, maybe just maybe that will let them see the issue at hand, in failing that, im just going to give up on GW completely.

A Gate To Far.
I crashed two times (I started the mission two times!) when entering level2.
No reconnects.
I also wasn't able to log onto my rit after today's crash, but had no issues logging onto my mesmer who was sitting in my GH.

Here's my day with Anet support, firstly i contacted them
There 1st response was
Download the game advisory tool, so i did this, and sent them the file they requested.
**********
There 2nd response was
You have an outdated graphics driver, update this driver and problem be solved,
I replied to them stating, i did not contact support with a GFX issue, i reported a network lag issue. I also sent them 3 screen shots with the pings over 50,000
**********
So there 3rd response to me was asking me the following see below
-How do you connect to the Internet?
-Do you use DSL, cable, dial-up, satellite, or another connection method?
-Do you use any routers, hubs, or switches? If so, could you tell us the make and model of that equipment?
-Who is your Internet service provider?
-Are you on a home, campus, business, or military network?
-Are you using a firewall application? If so, which one?
-Do you use any Internet Security Applications (ISA) such as CYBERsitter, "Net-Nanny," ZoneAlarm®, McAfee® or Norton™?
So i filled all the above in,
*************
There 4th response was *see below*
To do this, please perform the following:
1. Locate and remove the Ethernet cable that is plugged into the back of your router from the modem. This cable may be connected to a port marked as a "WAN" port.
2. Replace the Ethernet cable currently plugged into your system with the cable you removed from the router.
3. Confirm that your Internet connection is working properly by visiting a few websites. If you cannot browse to a website, please reboot your modem by unplugging the power cable to it and plugging it back in.
4. Reboot your computer, and try the game again.
I replied to them stating that i was on a dedicated 8Mb line and my modem/router was the only way i connect as its an always on internet connection.
************
There 5th response
I am escalating your ticket for further assistance
I then got this pretty much 10 minutes later.
The servers are currently operating quite smoothly. There is a free trial program called PingPlotter Standard which may be of some use to us in determining the health of your active Internet connection. We ask that if you are using a router, hub, or switch, to first disconnect this device and connect directly to your modem before running this utility. You may have to reboot your modem and/or computer to reestablish your Internet connection.
I did not respond to them after this, its pretty clear its 1 big text book, i told them several times that this was not a local issue and than many 1000's of people are complaining, everyone in my alliance is having issues and they are all over the world.

Lol, I use PingPlotter and last night I had RIDICULOUS lag. It was so bad, I finally just gave up playing. I checked PingPlotter....basically verified that it wasn't on my end
I know we've fought and fought to get an answer on the most recent lag issues, but we're not going to (at least, I would sincerely doubt it). I just hope all this recent server maintenance will actually do something.

you know whats really pissing me off? it aint the lag, its the TOTAL "it aint us" attitude from anet regarding this situation.
my ping has been awesome in guildwars for 4 years solid, never have lag, occasional rubberband, but these last few months its been absolutely appauling.
ill be in underworld with my friends with my 60-100 ping, then just freeze, on the spot, for like 20 seconds, then BAM, 40-50k last ping. ill be on vent too talking to people and they will have the exact same spike at the exact same time for the exact duration.
Now, this is NOT coincidence. Anet, sort your friggin servers out please, release a statement to say youre looking into it because ATM, its an absolute joke.
Oh, and i contacted support, and although they are pleasant enough, they are a bunch of monkeys who have NO CLUE what the problem is, or even how to fix it.
What would a graphics card driver that was out of date by a few months, windowblinds running in the background or having 10 items on startup of windows have ANYTHING to do with my ping and lag issues.
please, sort it out.

Whats funny is, that, on at least 3 responses i sent to them i said, if it was my hardware or ISP, how are all members of my guild/alliance and 1000's of others complaining ingame and on fansites about the lag spikes being affected to.
They just go threw every text book answer until you get pissed off and dont bother contacting them again.

Really bad lately, been getting 20 second lagspikes, half my guild get them too! It's almost funny, right after one alliance chat is filled with "Woow, massive lagspike!" etc. etc.

Still waiting on a fix.
80% in to my vanquish I disconnected and it wouldn't let me back in. Funny how it takes me back to the log-in screen and I can sign back in immediately, but it can't just let me back in to my explorable.
It's happening too often. Cutbacks, anyone?
