The transatlantic connection problem doesn't explain why players in the US cant connect to US servers or players in Europe cant connect to European servers seeing as they don't need the Transatlantic connection.
It also doesn't explain why players can connect to chars in towns, bot not to chars in their GH in the same sitting (not logging out of GW and back in to change characters).
Quoting Regina's post over and over again wont solve anything. This is a situation where Anet is probably saying, damn was a nice try, lets go back to the drawing board to find the next part of the problem/excuse.
I just tested the Germany / US theory and can deffinitely say that this is utter BS. I connected to a US Eastcoast server from Germany in Half Life 2eathmatch with no unexpected high latency aswell. This means the internet connection between Germany and the US is NOT at fault.

I experienced several Code=15 errors when connecting to Fort Aspenwood. I also was 'guildless' for some time but it seems that was caused by a connection error to the guild server.
Connecting from The Netherlands via Zeelandnet.nl ISP. I'm also experiencing lag and high pings. Normally my connection to the Guild Wars servers are excellent, but not today.
I play on European English servers.

It would be nice to know when we can expect to play again. Anyone has a rought idea how long it takes to "look into it further"?

Are you serious? ANET now must have total control of the internet so you can keep playing. Just to let you know there is life beyond GW, use this as an opportunity to find out.

Does it strike anyone else that Regina would be well served to find out the truth from the network people and follow up with us?
It's possible that Regina is taking the heat for someone else's lies...but if that's the case, she should be more zealously guarding her own personal reputation. Following up by telling us what happened, what was done about it and apologizing for misinformation would be a good start.
Letting breaches of trust stand without follow-up only confirms the expectation that ANet has no regard for the player base. At least Gaile apologized when she told us mini Polar Bears didn't exist, right?

Our network engineers are reporting that some of the latency problems are clearing up for a few players (and a few players have confirmed this both here and in communications to me), however they're continuing to investigate the network issues. They're taking a look at traffic flow between the servers to pinpoint the place where the network issues are happening.

Hey,
I was at work from the afternoon till late evening... and I tried to log on my husband's characters when I came home ( I managed to log on earlier in the morning the same day)... and I got a message that my account is suspended because someone unauthorised logged on...
To make things clear, I do take care of computer and I do my best to keep it safe and I even scanned it in the morning... and nothing found.
Then I see you all compalining about huge lags and problems with GW.
And the weird thing is that my husband's account is suspended and mine isn't, so how come? We use the same computer.
Is it possible that someone hacked my husband's account due to this problems in GW?
Thanks for any replies

I haven't had any problems for a while now. I've been getting into HB's quite a bit faster compared to 9am this morning.

well, whatever DID happen (or is still happening, but if so, too a much lesser extend already), has somehow, somewhat been resolved. for our (all-german) alliance at least, that is. which means, at this time of day (10 p.m. here) about 30-50 ppl. of which ~20ish all complained via Teamspeak about error, and all of us have stopped getting errors around 9:30-40ish. (GMT+1, that is).
dunno what happend, but one of your engineers did sth magical around that time. if it was their fault in the first place, that is

You do not know what you are talking about.
There is a fiber line between the US and Spain, yes, but that is far from the only transatlantic link and most transatlantic links actually go via the UK and the France. I believe the current number is 8 transatlantic fiber links running between the american mainland and Europe plus a few private fiber cables that are not exactly known.
Second, MPLS connections do not care which transatlantic link they use, it doesnt show in the routing anyway, however, if Anet's carrier has latency issues, which is what Regina was saying, it would impact the connection between Germany and the US. Anet's carrier is most likely the cause of the issue.
You cannot test Anet's carrier connection so please dont pretend you can, all you can do is test whether a different carrier has the same problem, in all likelihood that would not be the case since all Internet traffic between Europe and the US would be impacted then.
I've already given a possible explanation why the described fenomenon can exist and I've also just done a mission, from NL on EU servers, without any issue of disconnects of any kind.
Now, please people, do not spread FUD on matters you are wholly ignorant of.

Glad to hear that but the problem is not new - connection problem for last 3 month (heavily). Quite often can't enter GH but can enter other locations. Last week, it took me a few tries to log into game (always rejected) and DC's were quite often (after trial to log into to existing game got info that it's impossible - quite annoying at the end of VQ).
Ping problem is quite often (perfect atm - 188ms ) but last weeks were quite disappointing.
Hope that my post about putting more effort in GW2 than in existing player's comfort was not true
I do not have to say that I really like that game (4 300 hours played) and I hope that you can fix it
P.S.
Working atm (Shanghai, China ; Am servers (lower ping than Eu)
