Unbearably bad lag!
The lag is ONCE AGAIN unbearable, causing me to lose a DD HM game right at the Disc of Chaos because the godamn RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing game wants to lag me out right as things get tense, it took me for RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing ever to get there and now I'm screwed over because of the shite connection.
What the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO are we supposed to do except bitch about it?

um.....deep breaths needed?
I've had no issues at all for a long while now so it may not be anets fault and could very easily be your ISP or your particular broadband line/exchange

No lag at all.

Oh im still having alot of lagg, that's why i don't really play much anymore.
My ISP says theres nothing wrong so, yeah. It's probably a network carrier that's the prob. What can you do?
Don't really need another thread on this though, just quit and wait for Gw2 = my advise
Good luck solving the issues though, mate.

Cant say I've had lag around about this time either
About a month ago, my friend who lives in America had bad lag for about a week and a bit, then me and some others got it in UK for about 4-5 days.
Seems to have moved on again.
Continental perhaps? Who knows.

If you're lagging at that same point all the time, maybe it's your computer not your connection? I know some of the things in eotn caused my comp to lag until I upgraded my video card. Possibly try turning down the graphics before you get to that point?

it's anets fault
i have lag quite often
i have a damn good computer
i don't even run the graphics on high most times just to conserve power
i can play ANY other game for hours on end no problems at all
anet is just too crap to fix their problems
i will never buy another program that they are associated with
the customer service has been that bad

What the heck is this "RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO" you people keep talking about?
Here is what you can do... read a book (not the in-game ones), have tried not playing guild wars?
The game will be there when you get back (its amazing, but its true)

"RED ENGINE GO" appears for each letter in a swear word that you type.
e.g if you put the f word with "ing" after it, it appears as RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing
But on topic, if they did shut down some of the servers, then that's probably the issue

The lag's always unbearable now. I really don't see the point in making a thread about it.
Hell, if I go 1 full play time w/o lag, THEN I'll make a thread....because, well, that'll be something to actually talk about.
This is just normal now :/

The only lag I ever have is when my actual internet connection is being problematic.
And if you're not having issues with other games, did you try checking your firewall settings and making sure that the ports for GW aren't blocked?
I've a feeling that that simple check would fix the lag for 95% of people...

checked that
got rid of all firewalls/anti-viruses and any other programs that use the internet one day
still had lag issues
as has been stated a million times it's a-nets servers that are the problem
but unlike other game makers/owners that come out and say yes we don't have sufficient servers and we are doing SOMETHING to remedy that... anet says... no no we are perfect you all have the problem... what a joke

LoneManWolf: I'll give you some tips to get your point out better. First of all, use proper capitals and punctuation. Secondly, try to make the anti-swear program trigger less.
On a more related note, while entirely possible it is a problem on ANet's side, this would be strange if you are the only one. Is it possible you are, for example, a proxy server which makes your IP-address change in the middle of the game (please excuse me if this is a completely wrong understanding of proxy server)?

I get no lag either, but I see people in my alliance complaining about it ALL the time. I don't buy into the fact that it is Anet's fault. If it was Anet's fault, it wouldn't affect select people, it would effect a HUGE number of people. It would also affect them at the same time.
Most lag is caused because:
1) your graphics card can't display stuff fast enough
2) your memory can't hold enough info
3) your ISP is poor
4) your modem/router is poor
5) your CPU is poor
6) some combination of the above
Yes, Anet can and does cause lag at times. Usually when this happens, it hits an entire server (Europe knows this well). I'm not saying Anet isn't to blame for SOME of the lag, but they are unlikely to be the cause of what I see people complain about.
