Minion Factories rolling over people in HA. I'm sorry, in the Tombs.
Pre-made templates that were better than a lot of today's builds in RA.
Developers giving a damn about promises and keeping their word.

I hear you, man. The majority of players are all about efficiency, and while I understand it has its place, the game is really about having fun. I run through the Quarry all the time with my warrior, and a pet, and get laughed at because I'm not using this week's most popular build. Who cares? I'm having a blast, and that's what matters. And I guarantee you that all those fools who insist on only the most hard charging builds are PvX addicts who haven't taken the time to experiment with the game anyway. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Remember, if you were being attacked when the cut scene occurred, you'd be dead when it was over, because the baddies still inflicted damage?
I remember starting the game, LOVING Pre-Searing, not knowing there was a Post-Searing.
I remember reading about a bug fix in Yak's Bend and thinking that must be in the more advanced areas.
I remember FINALLY finding Piken's Square, and seeing a bunch of characters with letters and numbers over their heads. (I even reported that as a bug. The CSR was kind enough to point out what that all meant.)
I remember the Monk Strike, and how hard THK was.
I LOVED "the book trick" in FoW.
I LOVED the minion factory, watching that marching wall of death.
I remember taking 1/2 an hour to kill Glint.
I remember how hard it was to find a monk in THK and the Fire Islands, so I monked solo with my Mesmer and Necro, amazing the group (and myself!)
Good times!

Definitely. It's nice because it's easy to find the answers to your questions, but it takes away from a lot of self discovery.

I remember back in the days when I used the Healing Hands elite on my warriors bar and that final thrust was the most awesome skill ever and trying to find any PUG group when all I saw was "LF monk for mission" everywhere. I also remember back when mods and Superior Vigor runes were worth a fortune and that my purple hammer with an undead mod was pretty awesome not to metion my white fiery dragon sword I was the shizzle back then.

QFT. From old times I missed this RPG part. When It was possible to go with a group of 4 lvl 7 warriors in fort ranik and nobody cared about builds but was eager to see how the history develops.

when i first started, i didn't know that presearing was the tutorial area, and is not connected with the rest of the game. in fact, i spent hours looking over maps online, to see where i was. i was quite surprised after i found out there was nothing south of foible's folly.

We were truly the only ones winning favour for europe in those days
http://rip-dw-healer.ytmnd.com/ >> God our monk template sucked.
I remember a lot of cool stuff from the first year of this game. Things were all fresh and new back then. Good memories ...

I remember being in LA and watching the parties forming for Villainy of Galrath quest and thinking how pro those guys must be.
When your friends would pm you as they were about to face their doppleganger and you would wish them good luck, and not to get discouraged.
I remember them Pmin you back hours later saying "I give up"
The Prima Strategy guide was FASCINATING
I remember deleting my first Warrior (W/Me) because I wanted to be a Monk secondary, I was unaware that you could switch secondaries. Hey do you remember the secondary profession changers in the outposts in the desert, had to trek for hours to get to those places.

Hmmm....
- Finding ToA by accident and wondering wth was going on
- Being proud of my firestorm and flare build in FOW .. and wondering why people lolled at me
- Discovering 55 monking for the first time.
- Discovering how much money I needed to MAKE the 55 armour set (fortunately before 55ing became widely known)
- Making Griffons the early ancestors of Vaettirs slaughterfest
- Proudly being a striking monk in the THK strike event
- Getting to the Desert on my first char (ele) and someone politely pointing out pre-searing armour might struggle...
- Being persuaded to create a warrior for a certain thing called... erm, ah yes Droknars Running. Kerchings
- Being in a guild for 5 months without having "guild chat" turned on...
- Grrring at the introduction of Dying Nightmares in UW. Swines.
- Whooping in delight when finally I completed The Villainy of Galrath. And 4k XP too! Woooot. If only I knew how redundant skill points would actually become lol.
- Spending 40 minutes in a PuG trying to kill Willa The Unpleasant in Abaddon's Mouth. Oh the pain, then waiting 100 years for the bonus to finish - think it took 3 hours to do that mission hahaha
- Getting a Crystalline Sword and, thinking it looked rubbish (which I still do), politely handed it over to the merchant for a few gold. Still have cold sweats over that one lol.
- Sorrows Furnace being released. "Hot-Damning" when my first green dropped (Brohn's Staff, which I still have for sentimental purposes). Cue a Necro being built so I could play with as many Bone Fiends as I liked in there (and Tombs). Happy 5 man times.
Fond memories, the game isn't like it used to be! Now where is my walking stick...

I remember when I found my first superior absorption ever (ettin rune farming). Sold it to the rune trader for 80k, and promised myself I'd never lose that money.
The monies were gone within the week.
