guys, I've read through a bit of this obviously I can't read though all 4x pages but I was just wondering how difficult it would be to mod the login screen, I saw in the first few pages someone did it, just curious how much effort it would take and could I a complete n00b when it comes to mods do it with some practice.
Otherwise, if someone would be able to do it for me It would be greatly appreciated and I'd probably kiss you, if someone wouldn't mind doing it for me, I could pm them with my idea or whatever else it is you need.
Off the top of my head, I would love something with a darker feel, kind of something that contrasts well with a necromancer or something.
Even if it's as simple as the text having a bone like skin.
Right now I'm using the Dark Glass UI mod, which is extremely great I might add and I plan to continue using it.

i would be careful with this guys, i tried it a while ago, using the packages from wiki and a couple of them contained viruses.
they didnt appear to be keyloggers, but you never know.
would be a bitch to have someone steal or delete your chars, no?
just thought id share and let you know that there are some dodgy packages out there, so i would advise, unless you're writing you're own mods, be careful.

I dont mean to be rude/mean in any way but could you post any proof to show people what was found? or even double check the ones you downloaded?
It is always best to be careful, that i agree on.

I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread that some anti-virus programs recognise the temporary files as trojans...correct me if i'm wrong. Perhaps it wasn't in this thread, it could have been in a specific cartography thread... So, the consensus is, it isn't a virus, it just created temporary files which will sometimes be flagged as viruses but in fact aren't.

This is true. Some (bad) AV's will regard textmod and its stuff as trojans because they modify your video (to change the display).
They are harmless though, textmod is safe and you couldn't make a .tpf file a virus if you tried.

texmod is only as safe as the place you download it from.
Obviously, it is a prime target for keyloggers who would like to steal your account information, so be sure to get it from a reliable source. It's an even better target because if it's infected, everyone will assume it's "the usual" false-alarm and ignore it. I heard that the links on the offical wiki (because anybody could edit them) got replaced with dodgy ones sometime in the past, I don't know if that is still possible.

I didn't mind the reskins, just that they were baed reskins (except for maybe norn), and concept art showed much better reskins.

not really my style, but very nice looking, Monument armor should have looked like this instead of the atrocity they made.

I still do it every now and again, but I never do anything major. I'll usually use topaz with photoshop to sharpen up my armor a bit. Then I'll change colors and what not. I've also given most of the henchies red glowing eyes. They are, after all, just mindless demonic automatons....

I haven't been playing GW for long, but I do like the items presented. Being able to alter appearances (for good or bad, take it as you like) only adds to a games longevity. How long a run did DOOM have? How about QUAKE? Also, look at Neverwinter Nights; fully supported as a user moddable game environment where the end users were in fact *encouraged* to create their own in-game usable content. That game has spawned a sequel and is still going strong.
@Mr. G: If you would either post directly, or via PM to myself, the process in which you were able to extract or replace the model/texture info, I would take up a mantle for modding GW. Sometimes the stuff the original creators came up with just blows and user-created content just fits better.
Sincerely,
-Velkyn

what's to stop someone modding the animation for when a player is activating a rez signet.. say they turn completely solid red as they are activating it...
interrupting rez sigs would be so much easier
