I'd pay $5, not $10. But, that's economics. I bought 6 full accounts of GW for $5 on Black Friday, like I'm going to pay double that just to get 20 storage slots? Not only is it half the cost, but I get 100k+ in in-game gold from those accounts every month, which if that's converted to old time money->gold schemes, that's what? $5 a month? So yeah, it would be stupid to buy extra storage panes for $10. $5 I'd do, not 10.

But, trying to boycott something when maybe 1% of the GW population that would potentially purchase these extra storage panes visits these forums? That's just naive.

I'll /sign on the price being stupid, and /notsign on a "boycott" because it's just not going to happen.

While yes it is overpriced, people will pay the same price for an extra character slot to have more storage. The same people may even pay for extra storage tabs. If ANet wants to charge for it, let them. It is there game they are just kind enough to share it with us and let us play it online for FREE. They do need other sources of income to keep the servers up and to pay those who help keep the game updated/work on GW2.

If you search this and many other GW forums and fansites, you'll find that a lot of people stated their will to pay for more storage.
They price may be a bit way off, secially under this crisis we are, but any sensible person would agree that paying for more storage is acceptable.

GWO is NOT a "FreeToPlay" game, it is a "PAY ONCE" game.
You pay once for each key, and you get the content and features the key unlocks FOREVER (as long as you follow the rules and people play the game and aliens don't decide to invade us and end the world and things like those and yaddayaddayadda).

There are some special bonus items that are created only once, but you don't pay or those. So they aren't even an exception to the rule.

But - well, I still don't see the issue at hand. They are giving us free stuff - the fifth slot is still free, is it not? They're charging for stuff that you might want to get, things that are optional. I don't see why there should be a boycott of something that is optional in the first darn place.

Anet needs to make money one way or an other.

The price for the extra pane is more then cheap is a dam gift from anet only $10.

And come on you are going top get a free upgrade plus the extra one that you can get if you keep a close eye on the GW site.

Plus if enough people buy the extra panes, anet may be able to fix some the nasty graphical bugs they are to lazy to fix.

On a more positive note: if this thread was about a petition for the storage tabs at $5, I think it'd have great success!

From Linsey's words, I get the feeling the equipment pack is free (maybe through some kind of quest? zcoins?), but it's not sure.

I balked at buying my first copy of prophecies because it was $50. I didn't post on every forum suggesting a boycott of Anet because I felt they were charging too much for the game.

I posted my little spiel on a couple threads on how it was more cost effective to go buy another account. To those saying they would buy if it was $5, guess what, buying another account is still more space for your money. I said my reasons, and I moved on.

You are protesting the price of an item which you DO NOT NEED, NOR ARE YOU REQUIRED TO BUY. I would love for you to go boycott a car dealership because you think their prices for a bodykit for your car is too high.

So what does that make WoW? A pay with your soul game? You have to pay to buy the game then pay to play the damn thing. So as far as I am concerned GW is indeed a free online game because you don't have to pay a cent after buying it if you don't want too.

Don't wanna buy more storage? Don't. A-Net isn't forcing you to buy more storage. Sure $10 is a little overpriced & $5 would be better, but A-Net probably needs the money. Imo, if you're in a uproar over paying just $10 for storage, then *maybe* you should get your priorities straight :I.

i suspect no one gets one single slot of storage for free glacialphoenix, you know how when you only have one backpack and the rest of the slots is empty until you buy a bag to put in the slots, the free slots is that slots, to hold the equipment packs (i think thats what it is) so there's no free storage what so ever this update.

I wanna know where everyone is reading that we are all getting 1 free Xunlai tab, because I'm not seeing it. All I am seeing is one extra slot for an equipment pack. I don't see 1 free tab, then $10 apiece thereafter.

I won't be buying because I don't want to link my game account to PlayNC but I have no objection to them selling extra storage or to the price.

Frankly I think the price is fair and I have no problem with the idea that if you are going to insist on storing more on their servers you can pay a one-time fee to do so.

If they ever offer this as a code for purchase that does not require linking to PlayNC, I will probably buy immediately.

Charging for extra storage tabs in your Xunlai Chest is not a game decision, it's a BUSINESS decision. A-net is a Business, and in order for that business to survive, it has to have a thing called "revenue." Without "revenue" they can not pay the bills. If they can't pay the bills, they wind up shutting down. If they shut down, they won't be providing their product (Guild Wars) to their customers and they won't be working on GW2, either. If that were to happen, ALL OF YOUR IN-GAME STORAGE ISSUES WILL BE SOLVED!

As for the price, if people don't spend the $10 for the tabs, then the marketing guys will figure it out pretty quickly that the price needs to come down.

Free extra storage is an extra bag per character. You don't have to buy the extra storage tabs if you don't want them, and not everyone has the option of being able to transfer stuff from one account to another (e.g. not having two computers available or not having a computer powerful enough to run GWx2). If the storage tabs don't meet your needs, then buy another account or a character slot.
