"The Guild Wars community" seems pretty happy about this update.

which community are you in? i have spoke to countless numbers of people and i have only gotten a handful of people who have enjoyed playing this new pvp format. this is sadly yet another epic fail from guildwars live team. i'm saddened by the lack of understanding of the true guildwars community. the desires usually expressed on these forums are not the average players concerns nor cares. this is a forum of trolls who want nothing more then to cry and whine about when they get pwned and beg for things to get nerfed.
yes the rr days was a complete cheat, no it was not right, no not much that was there could be done about it, but who's to say that codex wont get rr days? it just takes a team of 4 people to leave and do you not think that there will be 8 people at a time who want to rr? look at how many districts there were during rr days in hb. the problem exists and there is nothing anet can do about it short of stop giving faction points for zaishen combats.
if it is the peoples will to cheat and discredit their own abilities then it will happen regardless of what format they are doing it on nor what skills they are provided with as it only takes the "m" button and a click to move back to the codex isle the same as hb.
think about it

Which community are you in? Pretty much every player I've talked to who hasn't played Guild Wars in months, both PvP and PvE players, have said this was the closest thing to fun they've had in Guild Wars for over a year. How is this an epic fail? They delivered exactly what they said they would. People were very interested in it when it was announced, and people are still interested in it, and will continue to be. Lack of understanding? I hope you are aware quite a bit of the community has been asking about sealed deck for a couple of years now.
CA isn't going to have RR. I can guarantee you that now. If it was going to, we would have seen it in TA, which we did not. Think it will happen if you want, but it will not.

I, for one, detested Hero Battles with a firey passion
It always brightens my day to see a person think they speak for the entire community.

the only reason we didnt see it in ta is due to the fact that we still had hb, you dont think there were enough players doing rr to make it happen in ca? if you think that then you are blind to the fact that people enjoy making a mil gold in one day... dont underestimate the stupidity of cheaters mate is all i'm saying. and secondly which town or outposts are you in that people are saying nice things about ca? i tried it> didnt like it> asked my guild of 80+ people and most that i've talked to dont like it, asked the alliance of 10 guilds and i didnt get a single nice responce from the alliance, went to do some vsf runs and it was empty for a lil bit then everyone came back from ca and most didnt enjoy it... later i asked in kamadon d1 i got a view good responces for it, but most there again didnt like it,,,,>>> i took a concensus of the people available to me, i even tried in gtob while i was there trading and still i havent found more then a handfull of people who enjoy the new changes vs what we had. so go smoke another bowl and actually talk to the community before you ask me which one i'm talking to...

this is reason "guru" is not official website for guild wars. admins writing their opinions and ignored minority players who enjoyed format instead trying to talk and unederstand each others. since "wiki" is major community website, we shouldn't expect anything from "guru" (this is just unofficial guild wars website). so don't even wrtie this kind of opinions here Also people love SD right now, because they have a chance to get highest title in GW and this is "new" for now. I wonder how many people will keep playing this when they figured out that old "TA" players staying 24 hrs for farming pts and keep owning them (reason people quit TA becuase there was not enough players so they kept facing good teams over and over again and this will happen to SD in 1~2 months) . A-Net said this will be win-win for both TA and HB, but too bad this SD is just for TA players.

This segment of the Guild Wars community couldn't care less.
Please remember to speak for yourself and, even then, only when necessary.

They really should have kept TA and HB instead of that Codex Arena which is a second RA.

I can completely understand someone not being interested in it. But, why does that automatically equate to obliterating its existance? If you don't like it, don't go there, problem solved. This thread just seems like a bunch of people gloating over raining on a minority's parade. I didn't play Hero Battles, but if there were people that liked it, good for them. I like a game that has lots of options.
I can also see that people might like sealed deck better, but again, can't both exist? Has the community shrank so much that spreading people out would cause all areas to be nearly empty? I didn't think things were in that dire of straits yet...

you can probably count on one hand the people that -truly- played, enjoyed and liked actual hero battles. the rest were there for easy rewards.

So you asked your PvE guild and PvE alliance, people in your PvE party and PvE players in Kamadan about a PvP format. Hey, I can talk to a bunch of PvE players about any PvP format, and I bet the majority are going to say PvP sucks. On the flip side, I can go talk to a bunch of PvPers about PvE, and the majority of them are going to lol. Hell, I can go talk to WoW players and the majority are going to say Guild Wars sucks.
You can ask a million players, but it doesn't mean shit if you're talking to the wrong players. Of course PvE players aren't going to enjoy a new PvP format, they're PvE players. Maybe you should stop smoking bowls and realize that asking PvE players their opinions on PvP formats is a dumb thing to do. Following your logic, the community does not like GvG because if you ask PvE players, they will say they don't like it. The community also does not like PvE, because if you ask PvP players about it, they'll say it's crap. Basically the community does not like anything in this game, by your logic.

better yet. smoke a bowl, go to a full loot PvP game like DarkFall, tell them you are a Guild wars PvP'er, and watch what happens.
