Well it's obvious that the Dhuum quest was supposed to happen about a week ago and that they having issues implementing it. This Waiting Game quest is just something they've quickly thrown in to buy more time to fix the real quest.
So yeah the first part of the comic doesn't exactly apply, but still do in a 'invisible way', we've not seen the error codes, but they are obviously there and the QQ is on.

How so?

I must have missed something.

What was the real quest? Was it given by the Steward?
And why are people QQ about a bad quest? It's just a game.

Because it was the 4th and final quest in the Mad King chain (Regina stated there would be 4 before the first one even appeared)

Uhhhh.....that it's taken an extra week to get it working? The disappearing and reappearing Steward?

The real quest has yet to arrive, hence The Waiting Game

its not so much the problem as that anet wont just come out with it and admit they had problems with the game. its not just this quest but a collection of minor problems with the game and anet will not admit they are having trouble with any of them, which is pissing people off cause they suck at hiding it

Here's the thing. Previous posts have mentioned problems with this quest or with the game causing people to be angry with Anet or whomever they feel is responsible. I would like to remind these people that:
1. You are playing a game. It's a great game. But it's still a game.
2. People who make this game don't owe you anything; if nothing else, they have bent over backwards to provide continued maintenance and support DESPITE the fact there is no monthly subscription fee.
3. If you know so well what they are not doing "correctly" or "fast enough," then where is your game that you have made? Put your money where your mouth is.
I think it's a shame that the community finds ways to complain about things when it's meant to be fun and exciting. It's like childbirth in a way. Spend a lot of time waiting for it to happen, which granted can be a little frustrating, but then when it finally happens, it's like nothing in this world; and it's a little more special because you couldn't just have it happen right when you wanted it to.
Appreciate what you have and that these people have given of themselves to make a game we still enjoy playing!

+1
Everyone on Guru is all "gimme gimme gimme, tell me whats gonna happen or you suck at doing your job" thats not how it should be. This quest is meant to be suspenseful, hence the name, and the wait time should have never been revealed.
The fact that it is a cliffhanger should give the message to players: "oh we have to wait, I don't want to wait but I guess I have no choice". Maybe it sucks, but you shouldnt complain or whine if you dont get your way. Like Sagra said, there is no monthly fee, that reason alone should allow you guys to have enough respect for ArenaNet to not complain to them about something you disagree with.

Trust me, the only people complaining are those who felt like they were promised everything just for being involved in something. When Anet (or the 4 or 3 people still working on GW1) announced they were doing something new and fun and even lore-wise with Halloween this year, people expected the quests to have no flaws with them. But, we are living in a world of humans and not genies (new content is bound to have problems with it and when these problems are found, people instantly blame the programmers for hating them).
Also, these are faithful customers that Anet is trying to hold onto until GW2 comes along. Kind of a catch22 if you think about it (Anet wants to keep players interested, so they put a very tiny group together that has to fix the problems that the old team created...and still provide content...)

This is a stupid argument, and so is every permutation of it. Do I need to be a professional chef in order to know and tell someone they can't cook worth shit?

No, but is someone does something kind to you, like making you a nice (and free) meal that they honestly think you would appreciate, it would be very rude and ungrateful of you to say they "can't cook worth shit". After all, they gave you a meal out of kindness, not because of money.
Same thing with Guild Wars. We don't pay monthly fees. However anet is STILL giving us new things to do. They are doing things for us for free. And for that I can't thank them enough, even if they make mistakes once in awhile. (not saying they do or do not)

Well if you say something like that you obviously think you can cook better than them, and if it were me personally, I'd call your bluff

Yep I am sure most players appreciate what there doing when it comes to some more content, the bottom line is though there doing it for the business and naught else, there payed to keep us the players happy and ticking along until GW2 is released.
If ANET did nothing and no content was released then this game would be dead and buried within 6 months.

So one tiny, tiny little quest is going to make you grin and play GW again, when you're already bored and unhappy with it? I highly doubt it. A quest probably takes 15 minutes to complete, maybe 1 hr max. What then?

I am fully aware of how many "hardcore" players they are, I have played the game for over 4 years so I am not delluded. The bottom line is most people I know who have played the game since beta come online every now and again to do one thing and thats to talk to the people they have met over those years and do the occasional dungeon run, title hunting etc
You would be visibly blind not to realise that the game is old and decaying and in need of GW2 to keep the players who are not "hardcore" intrested in the series. You might not agree with me but that however is your perogative.
Anyway back on topic, looking forward to the quest, I am hopefull it will be this evening.

You are mad that quest is a bit late? /boo to you I say.
Well, I for one, am quite happy about it.
Why? I had next to no time to participate in event, so I pretty much missed all the quests and even logging in to AFK for hats stressed my schedulle. Ability to get at least one last quest is awesome.
If I would have to complain about something it would be the fact that Four other quests were right on time and that they were avaiable only once, so I would never experience THOSE. Which is /boo; new content is scarce as it is, no need to make interesting quests only to throw them away after one week.
