dream wind, that not fair, one thing i loved about nightfall is how you could move around the map, but only to a certain point. While with factions it was the opposite of prophecies where you had complete movement, factions had finish the quest before you can come in, you might be afflicted who can be sure. I for one hope that the nightfall model is used so that if you are exploring, you can still go to the city and it isnt wasted. One other thing i hope they do is have unmaxable money titles, with only 1 rank
example
nothing
party animal(1000)
party animal(2000)
party animal(4256)
where is shows beside the title how many you have used. But only if they are having titles, and only if they are having money titles.

I will wait for ANET to beg me to come back to Guild Wars. Only after that, I will spend my hard-earned money on their products.

Anet has handled GW1 to the best they could with such a small live team. I'd love to see anyone challenging them to do any better.
I'll be buying GW2 CE without a second thought. I've never, ever had a problem with support (Except when they falsely perma-banned me for hacking, which promptly got revoked), but I will not compare apples to oranges. From what I've seen, they'll be two different animals. They're going to have much more support for GW2.
I feel that's the unfortunate mistake people are making: Thinking that GW2 is going to have the tiny support team GW1 has.
I'm going into GW2 with no expectations: It's a new game and you'll make new expectations out of it. GW1 has given me two years of enjoyment and I'll happily continue that enjoyment well after GW2 is out and about.

Question One: I believe they've handled GW adequately considering their reasons, resources and ultimate goal.
Question Two: does not really apply
I feel like I've answered this question put in similar words a dozen times. The more time goes by the more certain I am that the CE order will be in on the first day it's available. That isn't to say that "more certain" is even possible or ever has been. I honestly don't understand why anyone that does or has even mildly enjoyed GW would not pick up the standard of GW:2. Even if it's not exactly to your liking I'd wager that you'll get at least as much playtime out of it as the run-of-the-mill garbage solo games we've all bought time and again.
I continuously wonder if many, many people have little experience with mmo companies outside of ANet. ? Have people forgotten the amount of attention, game additions, fixes, changes, extras, that GW received as a game of primary focus? Are people aware that even in the 'stagnant' state of GW it's still being taken care of in a better fashion than some current 'big name' games?
So yes, when ANet gets GW:2 ready for release, the game they've envisioned for so long, I won't hesitate to buy it and support them. One of the reasons being that they'll be supporting it like I know they can, well.

No, based on the quality that Anet has been given GW1 and the silence from GW2, I'm not too happy right now. I'll probably buy the CE edition anyway and wait for the wikis to come out, then make my decision to resell or play the game within a month or two based on how Anet handles the game.

No. The unfortunate mistake people in this thread are making is assuming that even with a full support team GW1 was run perfectly, or even better than a lot of other games.
Anet has made a LOT of extreme errors that people have simply forgotten about. Perhaps people have forgotten due to the good Anet has done, or perhaps they have forgotten due to the fact that the community and people that realize these errors aren't playing anymore or posting here, or perhaps they have forgotten just due to bad memory.

No game can ever claim that they haven't had their fair share of problems. I don't think "extreme" is the correct term to use only because what is extreme to one man isn't to another. That isn't the point, though. Every game and game company is going to have issues, and some of them are going to be far monumentally worse than others.
But you can't hold that against a company forever. If someone finds these past mistakes are so horrendous, and suspect they're going to happen in GW2, it's an easy solution: Just don't buy the game.
Later on, if/when these fears are proven wrong, the solution is just as easy: Go out and buy it.

i will buy gw2 but the way they handle gw 1 might make me reconsider my decision. (bots + cheating - syncing, goldbuying), imbalanced skills (sf,ursan,600), announcements mostly done on journals instead on the official site, e.t.c I understand its a free subscription game and no company is perfect but felt they could have done more. Above doubts makes me wonder if gw2 will go in the right direction.
For the record I quit WoW for GW as GW allows solo gameplay for pve so i dont have to group with idiots, even spent a decent amount of money on gw, prob more then the avg player would buy and i hate to see all that money gone on gw2. In fact i think introducing heroes was a right direction cos most players i grouped with to do zaishen missions were competent, unlike those i grouped with for example, urgoz and the deep. Thinks EOTN was well done and factions the worst.
If gw2 turns out to be a WoW clone its goodbye GW, back to WoW.

Sure every game has problems. But I know a lot of people (frankly almost everybody I know who used to play) who have flat out quit over Anet decisions. To them those errors are enough to be classified as extreme.

As it looks, GW2 will mainly be a PvE game. Probably decent. At least better looking and with a persistent world. There is a pretty big difference between how Anet have treated the PvP community and how it have treated the PvE community. At this moment PvP players are way more resentful towards Anet than the PvE players, and rightfully so. They initially made the game as a PvP game, with GvG as their pride and most competetive format, and PvE was basically designed as a tutorial/intro to the game. With time they realized that the vast majority of PvE players are.. well, PvE players. They do not make the transition to PvP. Since they are in majority, PvE is where Anet (and NCsoft) can make their money. So they completety changed course; stopped caring about PvP and focused on PvE - expanded it and made it easier. And since around the announcement of GW2 they stopped caring much about PvE too (they have just thrown in some mindless grinding and consumables).
Personally, probably not buying the game. It depends. Apart form my general contempt for how Anet handled the game and its community, and the suspicion that GW2 will meet the same destiny:
1. Not particularly interested in PvE unless it is awesome.
2. PvP will likely be a different game, maybe very different. Not sure why I would consider it. Could just as well play HON, TF2, BLC or whatever.
3. I suspect that the PvP will be poop.
If the PvP will be more or less the same but improved in certain aspects (better skill balance, no P, D or A, fewer maps, considerably fewer skills, only Elites from first prof, much, much better servers etc), I will consider buying the game.

will their handling of gw dissuade me....no, however; what they are changing of the game I can play will. (its a form of vertigo----if I watch homemade videos I get nauseated ......lots of games do this as well----gw did this minimally when I first started playing, from what I have seen in the previews and what has been expressed on movement, I theorize that it will be unplayable by me therefore no reason for me to spend my husband's hard earned money on it).
will I buy gw2---NO as I will not be able to play it.

Well, that's their decisions, as much as I find them rather poor decisions. I'm not the one to tell them how they should and shouldn't feel. It's simply a game. Especially in games like this, you adapt and move on. That's what makes games like this unique. I agree, they haven't handled EVERYTHING as I feel they should have, but I'm not going to quit over it. The game has given me far more enjoyment than it has disappointment. I suppose that's what has me shaking my head at some people quitting. You've played for X number of years, but Y and Z happen and you suddenly quit? A few mistake (Whether you like how they were solved or not) are going to nullify years of enjoyment?
Ah, well. Like I said, it's not my place to tell people how they should or shouldn't feel. Just my two cents, take it for what it's worth.
I don't think Anet has done anything, in my opinion, that could make me quit a game I've thoroughly enjoyed for two years.

I think some people need to recognize that they are no longer (or never were) the target audience, and that GW is simply not compatible with their idea of entertainment. Thinking about the game in plain good/bad terms is oversimplified and ultimately unproductive.
I won't be buying GW2, but that's only because I've given up gaming altogether. The industry is increasingly focused on mainstream, "quantity over quality" attitudes, which gives me absolutely no confidence in their ability to make games that are worth my time to play.

If they handle GW2 like they did GW1 I will obviously be playing it. I don't think I can be playing a game as long as I have Guild Wars (since release) and say they did a piss poor job of handling their game.
In the end, through all the rage and bs A-Net has done a great job to have sold so many copies and keep players playing this long.
Expect GW2 to be another hit.

Definitely buying GW2 and I'll judge it from there. So question is not about buying GW2 or not, but if I buy any more expansions once they're made.
