Rankless PvE noobs who think they know enough to balance the PvP game and constantly suggest nonsensical buffs that would break the game.

One thing I really hate are people who think that people who play PVE are all "noobs".

This. I hate reading all those suggestion threads about how some random PvEr thinks they can solve PvP by buffing everything.

1. Calling me cutesy names when buying/selling. No, really, I'm not your baby, your bb, your 'hot baby' as someone called me recently. stfu.
2. Requests sent via whisper to take armor off. I mean, really.
3. PvE-er suck! PvP-ers suck! Chances are you both suck, shut up.
4. People who completely freaking fail at timezones. They stand around in LA/wherever for hours going WHEN EVENT START?! instead of, yanno, learning to effing tell time.
5. American districts. I go there to sell and then quickly gtfo.

i have no problem with people in those guilds but i do find their recruiting ads rather annoying with all those extra characters like that weird S thing that any one can find in a little thing called character map
and im not even gonna comment on the pve'rs suck cause i would like to think i can hold my own in pvp or pve.
and i thought of another to add in, people in TA who get a random combination of 4 and start without even getting a balanced team going or getting a specific team build set up

1. NPCs in factions who refuse to do business with you because you have too much of the wrong kind of faction. (Far and away my biggest pet peeve)
2. Gate Monkeys who, after being paid, say "Can I come along?" - NO! If you want to get into a Charr hunting party, find someone who is not trying to sqeeze out a few XP for LDoA.
3. "Pro tip" - Actually, this doesn't bother me, since it is only used by D-bags. Thanks, D-bags, for warning me that whatever you've got to say is probably not worth reading. Saves me a lot of time.
4. People who make right turns from the left turn lane!

There's two reasons this bothers me, actually
1) They think I'm going to dismiss them because they're from some no-name guild or bought their invites to whatever guild, so they're gonna lie about who they know or what they did.
2) They don't think I can just go and ASK their false references if they've ever heard of them, or think I can't specifically recall who played for what guild and when.
In reality, I don't care what guild you're from or what rank you are or how you got it; everything shows true in the end.
My most recent encounter is this guy who bought Easter The Monk's account (from mkay, dP), and has since tried to assume the identity.
Oh, and some other guy named "Il Andkun Dust Il" trying to convince people he's a hot japanese girl from HAnD, but has a "broken mic".
Seriously. -_-
|
I never had anything that extreme because I was never good enough, by my biggest pet peeve is something similar. Pretty much after every game I'd play that would show up on obs I would get PM'd by people telling me they are a good player and I should let them join my guild.
#1, I wasn't recruiting.
#2, Even if I was, why would I randomly let someone I don't know just join?
#3, Half the time I wasn't even the Guild Leader or in charge of recruitment. I guess people just assume that because I was a warrior in the #1 slot that I automatically am in charge of everything (although sometimes this was the case >.<)
Basically random people should never ask a person they just saw on obs if they can join their guild. The answer is always no and we are less likely to be nice to you because you aren't asking a question or looking for help, you're trying to lie about your abilities and looking for us to do you a favor and give us nothing in return.

Players who spend all the gold they have on a run from Ascalon to Droks/The granite Citadel/Marhan's Grotto for Elite armor. Only to realize they don't have the gold or material to buy it after they get there.

He never said PvP is pure and all PvErs are scrubs. He said PvE players with no experience in PvP trying to give their retarded opinions of how to balance PvP is a pet peeve of his.
That isn't lumping every PvEr together. That is lumping every "PvE player with no reputable experience in PvP, yet still think they know how to balance PvP" together.
Maybe you should learn reading comprehension and stop getting butt hurt every time a PvPer mentions something PvE related. It is you who needs to get over yourself.
and another pet peeve of mine is people requesting skills to be buffed to overpowered levels to counter what is already overpowered and not nerfing the overpowered crap. They tried that in August and December of 2008. They were quite arguably the two worst skill updates in the history of the game. We spent the months following those updates nerfing the update we just had, and when that problem finally got fixed (it actually still isn't fixed completely) we were back to square 1 and trying to balance crap that should have been fixed a year ago.
Anyone suggesting adding more skills to the already large cesspool of overpowered skills needs to shut up and never express their opinion again. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about and every time you give your opinion you make everyone around you more stupid for having read it. Stop it. Shut up. Yea I'm an asshole, deal with it.

Totally off the topic of PvP vs PvE hate - my latest pet monking peeve has gone from people who bring resurrect to people who bring monks with charm animal. WTF?!
A more general annoyance is when you're doing a zquest or bounty in normal mode cos you already got it HM, and you advertise it as such quite clearly in chat and party search ("LFP ZB *normal* mode") because you're bored with h/hing everything and would rather talk to real people... and people invite themselves via party search then say "Is this HM?", and instaquit when you reply "no, NM". L2read, dipshits. (Ty to today's NM Raven's Point team if you're out there reading guru, it was a fun run once we gave up looking for the last four players who knew what "normal mode" meant. )

I think Zipster was also referring to earlier posts in this thread where people clearly just say "PvErs" and not "PVErs with no experience suggesting things they don't understand, etc.", in which I totally agree with him. The whole PvE v. PvP thing is just stupid, anyway. You like what you like and everyone was a n00b at some point. Clumping everyone together is just arrogant and counterintuitive on everyone's part.
Here are some more peeves from me.
1) People who beg for gold, especially when it's in really minuscule amounts such as 1-50G. Just go outside and kill some monsters; it doesn't take that long, and you can sell all the crappy drops. In the time they spend asking Ascalon to give them Xunlai Storage funds, they could've killed the monsters themselves.
2) People who troll runs, oftentimes by zoning while the runner is still going, or by purposefully luring mobs to the runees while they wait, etc.
3) Runners that just give up or disappear right in the middle of the run, leaving you stranded and having to look for another one.
4) People that just stand there while PuGging, not sending off spells or slashing at monsters or anything. I can give some leeway for monks or if this is a stragetic tactic, but when you just see an idle Warrior or something just standing at the back, watching every mob go while everyone else is haulin' ass, and they are clearly just leechin' off of you... Get out!

He may have been talking about other posts, but he didn't say he was and he specifically quoted that one, so I was just going off that.
And I agree with you completely about the PvE v PvP thing. And it works both ways. No one likes people who generalize everyone under one label. I hate it when everyone considers all PvPers to be elitist a-holes when the majority of people I've ever played with are some of the nicest and coolest people I've met. And I can understand where a lot of people would get upset when people call all PvErs bad. I just think people who take things personally when they aren't even part of the group that was being complained about are just as bad as the people who generalize everyone together. It just leads to a lot of unnecessary conflicts that divides the communities even further.
