Severe LAG Issues
Has anyone else been having some serious issues in Kamadan, America Districts 1-3? I am currently in 4 and there is barely any lag at all. I've noticed 1-3 has serious lag and has had it for 2 - 3 days now. What's up with that? Its worse lag than in EoTN (Outpost)! Lion's Arch doesn't even have lag....

Sadly its not just you - last 2 days its been lagwars in many districts.
Other day in kamadan usa the whole dist was hit by the god of all lag - 5 mins of 20k+ lag and weirdly it took 5 mins before i got lost connection.Euro eng seemed fine that day as i switched but yesterday it seemed lag hit usa/euro eng/int districts as several guildies were hopping like mad to find a lag free dist.
Eotn was also lagging but isnt a surprise as many snowball dominance farming.
Also something i find is all major outposts the main 3 districts are always laggy to some degree - 1-3 is always the trade hotspots and often just tryin to get in takes a while.
Btw my wife spent a while yesterday just trying to buy some ccs - she and the seller ended up going to her gh as lag was that bad.

Wow, that was bad. I was just in Dis 1 kamadan and I noticed a lightning bolt inside my circle. I checked my ping and it was over 20k! Ye-owch. I hope Arena Net can figure out something to do about this major lag problem.
Sorry to ask but since when did Kamadan become a larger trade area than Lion's Arch? I haven't played GW in over a year.

I cant even LOG INTO my dervish because i parked him in kamadan before shutting my computer off for bed last night. Now whenever i try to log into him, i wait for 10 mins for it to connect, then get an error message and guild wars crashes.

We're aware that many players are experiencing increased lag and rubber banding issues. The high number of players in districts is causing increased load on server CPU, despite the efforts of the load balancers. There are a few things you can do on your end to try and improve play experience. First let me explain what's going on. Each district of a map is likely to be hosted on a different hardware server. Higher numbered districts are generally going to be newer instances of the map, and will be less likely to have accumulated whatever is slowing down the older/lower numbered districts. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you try different, higher numbered districts, if you're experiencing rubber banding or high pings.
We're also monitoring increased game client crashes, and investigating the issues. Our programmers suggest that trying different/higher number districts might help avoid client crashes.
We'll continue to actively monitor the issues here and continue to take steps to address them.
Thank you, and we apologize that some players' game experience has been impacted by these issues.

Cross-posting...
I've been relaying the concerns about disconnects and server issues. There were also some issues with lag on a couple of servers. Two of our programmers have been taking a look at the situation and they've determined that the best way to try and resolve this is to do a new build. The new build will place everyone back into a properly-functioning server when they login. This will happen within the hour. Because it is a holiday, and the offices are closed, you probably won't see the usual Game Update note on the web site. Due to the holiday, will be difficult to get the game update notes localized and turned around quickly, etc.
When you log back in, we anticipate that players will have a more improved experience with regard to the lag, rubber-banding, and connectivity issues. However, we will continue to monitor the issues and address them as we can if the issues persist.
Thanks so much for your understanding, and we apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

Also @ Regina: Driver updates for Server's Network card ftw?

not much you can do about servers being packed to their limits. saying try to work on them ahead of time does next to nothing.

You say that as if there's a lot that can be done, and as far as i know, the only thing to help with the servers trying to dispense a shit ton of information would be to get more servers to balance the load, and that isn't entirely feasible, because servers cost money, and i really wouldn't expect anet to just buy servers for a dying game just because some whiny kids want to bitch about lag.

My point was that several people told her just a while ago.At other points her talkpage was one !!!fest about how laggy the place was.It means she knew and the "I'm sorry,we'll fix it story" is bull!!!!.

and my point was that there's only so much that can be done. so shut the hell up, and accept the fact that there isn't much that could have been done. and from the star of the even to now there's been an obvious improvement to the lag, which proves to me that they did something, which i'm thankful for.
tl;dr shut up, stop whining, kbai

... There was nothing they could have done
... People asked them to fix it before the event
... Lots of people ask them during the event
... It gets fixed
... There was nothing they could have done

Yes your right, that completely changes my point.I'm sure you didn't fail to comprehend the point at all.Keep covering for Anet because they are Anet and not because they did things right. Its the way it should be done!

Stop nitpicking about things nobody in his right mind cares about.
The lag issue has been fixed, move on.
