It would probably be more worthwhile just to contribute to existing information on wiki, rather than make your own independent source of information. It's going to take a LOT of work, and I know you won't want to keep it updated for very long.

Use this as an opportunity to think about what wiki is missing, and fill in the gaps over there. Do you know how many missing information/stub articles it has?

Not to mention that some of these things shouldn't have guides written about them.

Speed Clear, oh yeah baby this has done nothing but good for the game.

Guild Starup, doesn't matter people won't listen, besides there is really no point to starting a new guild, the closest that will happen now is a PvP reform, but that isn't really starting a new guild

Gold, awesome, now a bunch of new people are going to saturate that particular area and things will get shat upon.

Powertrading, good god man have some human decency. I try to buy something and get bombarded with "offer" "offer" "offer" and if I put in a reasonable market price I get "haha" or "too low nub". I try to sell something and I only get low ball offers followed by "nty" and not one person even bothering to give me a counter offer. There is your powertrade guide there, call people nubs until they accept your grossly self-sided offer.

This can only end with good things.

How about instead of throwing all this negativity around the thread, you just answer the OP's actual question or don't bother posting at all.

On that note.

I would also like to see more comprehensive guides to elite areas.

If you are suggesting something similar to that along the lines of RuneHQ/Zybez for Runscape, I'd like to go ahead and point out this would be a futile attempt as GW2 is planned for release late this year, which would be just about the time you finished compiling everything. MY SUGGESTION and ANSWER is NO, do not even try this guide for GW, BUT, start a project (which includes getting a domain name, finding volunteers to help you compile information, building a site, etc) in order to create a global guide for Guild Wars 2 when it comes out. This way, you start with a brand new release and aren't overwhelmed with the current maybe 100+ hours of gameplay it would take to do just the campaigns in GW1 and you can grow it as the game grows.

Edit: Oh, and the website, if you do a good job and maybe even get partnered with AreaNet, will pay for itself and maybe bring in profit turning it into a real business (because with a high view count you get high offers for advertising rights)

because nothing says elite like an easy c-space strategy to beat it.
