Today is Community Manager Appreciate Day! Thank you to all of the CM’s that we hound mercilessly. I do not envy your job of having to walk the line between the screaming yang of your fans and the cutthroat yin of your bosses and marketing, but you do it day in an day out. Thank you for supporting us gamers, and being our advocate when we need it most even though we don’t see most of the work you do. Thank you for being our friends when you could easily wall us out for non-gaming related activities. Thank you for sticking with us through our worst when our rabid bile gets caught in our throats and you hold our hair while we grace the porcelain seat with o… well you get the idea. Thank you, community managers.

Ravious was just trying to be cool like me.
And yes, definitely thank your CM's, for whatever game you love, and let them know you appreciate their hard work. Or just an overall thank you, for not banning you from their game... because of your latest FLAME.

I do appreciate our CM's. I do think they're both touched in the head for putting up with us, but then I'm sure that was a job requirement It's not easy being under constant fire. You get the blame for shit that's not remotely your fault. You catch shit for not giving everyone what they want AND a pony. And not a brown ponie, a pink/red/black/rainbow/chaos pony. Thank you for putting up with our sorry butts.

If there is such massive opposition against the CM's, or the devs for that matter, it means there IS something wrong with CR...
Be it there fault, or Anet not giving them enough resources to work with, the CR is VERY poor.
You don't go to a homeless centre celebrating homeownersday, even tough owning a home is great...

Ah yes, CM's and their games... and their vague behaviour rules that allow arbitrary banning because someone feels offended...
Oh well, they had my thanks during Christmas in the Anet thank you thread already. I can't really help but feeling a bit amused by people making a special day for this, as if it were some kind of charity. CM's are getting paid for what they do like any other employee.
They'll receive another thank you from me when they deliver, or when it's Christmas again.
My apologies for my criticism, I will now give way to anyone who wishes to abide to this 11th commandment.

That made me laugh so hard; it's sad, but it's the truth! It's like eating a full course meal in front of starving children, then putting a needle in them to feed them liquid darvocet.

It's thank a CM day. There are lots of CM's. For many games, websites and organizations. In case someone missed that. But hey, if it will make some feel better we can do Community Manager Criticism Day on Tuesday.
We can hold the 2 events together every year. CMAD - Monday and CMCD - Tuesday. Someone schedule that.
----
And I hate all of you.

Aww, we hate you too Inde <3. And just be careful who you get to schedule that around here. Avoid TK people....it'll end up being 2 months late...

I wonder how people will feel a year from now or whenever Regina and Martin can finally start talking about GW2. For now, those two are huddled in darkness, cloaked in secrecy and shadows, poised to pounce on all of you. It's a conspiracy; they are conspiring.
I enjoy Martin's sense of humor and Regina's no nonsense approach.
However, I think all X appreciation days are contrived. If you truly appreciate them, do you not appreciate them the other 364.24 days per year? Does that mean you can insult, ignore, etc. them every other day except one when you shower them with praise to make up for it?

I'll give them praise whenever praise is due. I'll praise them at the very least for interacting with us on forums, and for buffing/changing skills/functionalities for the sake of keeping the game fresh and interesting. Thanks.
What I won't praise them [GW1 Game/Skill Editors] for is delayed updates, overnerfing of skills , and ruining professions by making them completely unviable in PvP: ; that's just saying the least.

Community Managers don't do the things in the second sentence.

I'm talking to the Arenanet Body as a whole actually [think of it as a domino effect]. My apologies for overlooking that minor detail, though. I know the CMs probably don't have a direct influence on the changes that take place.
Oh, and thanks for the uber-fast reply! I also corrected your quote to help you with your english. Maybe one day your can teach us some German, ey?

Inde, if I could be half as cool as you, I would bottle it, sell it, and sit out the rest of my days on a beach drinking drinks with little umbrellas.
