After 604 Fortunes, I got ZERO tigers. Immensely frustrating as I'd done the quests on 13 characters. If it wasn't for the generosity of a fellow guildee I'd still be tigerless now.
Surely there must be a better way to even out the tigers (lots of people report more than 4 tigers), so that the really really unlucky people don't have to open 1000's of fortunes to get one.

Last year I used 700 and a few fortunes and didn't get an ox. This year, I got a tiger on my 2nd fortune. I didn't bother trying for more and just sold all my other tokens. Better than clicking until my fingers hurt for questionable reward. Made 55 ecto all in all, running 20 characters through all the quests, 2 at a time.

I just wish they implemented progressive droprate for thesse event things (= with every 'fail' chance you get one increases untill you get one, then it resets to 0.3%).

The only change I'd like to see is the drop rate of Tokens increased a bit.
So that the CNY quests, and doing well at PvP still give the most tokens/hour... but killing stuff in PvE gives more tokens/hour than doing Dragon Nest in a district where nobody else is playing :-P

Exactly. You get just a handful of tokens from actively farming PvE for an hour.
But you get about a 100 tokens an hour for going to a Shing Jea district where nobody is playing Dragon Nest... and doing no more than:
1. Click NPC to enter Dragon Nest alone
2. AFK a few minutes
3. Repeat from 1.

Why were people paying so much for tokens anyway...
I mean, you can get Red Gift Bags and Lunar Fortunes with them.
Expected value for Red Gift Bags is about 337g if we price sweets/party points at 125g, so about 67g per token.
Expected value for Lunar Fortunes if the price of a tiger is 40k is about 207g, so about 69g per token.
Why are people paying 30k for stacks (120g per token)??

Don't know, but I suspect it's because there are less of them about - less players these days, and it's much harder to do a "roll new char, do token quests" exploit.
For me, the chance of getting a celestial mini from a Lunar Fortune is "meh" and no reflection of the value of a Lunar Fortune. What makes them useful/valuable to me, is the chance of getting +1 to all attributes until I rezone. And you have to use 10 Fortunes on average, to get one Lunar Blessing. (Add Candy Corn, Golden Egg and Grail... in some places, running around with +4 to all attributes is awesome).

Out of 170 fortunes I got no tigers. Not going to waste my money buying one either.

woot i got 3 tigers from about 500+ lunar fortunes.... all quest rewarded, didn't buy any stacks. :P .... part of the festival is doing the same quest-chain 11 times for your 11 characters... ieieieie... after awhile, you just stop caring about the hopeless romantic.

I was a little better. I spent the whole weekend running my second account through EOTN and doing Slavers. I ended up with 149 tokens, went and Farmed Sunqua vale quick to get 150, traded them all in, went out and did those 50 for 2 tigers. I am usually very unlucky, not lucky, lol.

I stopped after 230 fortunes and no tiger. I just got frustrated and bought one instead. No big deal... Yeah, I could have made some money selling any extra tigers if I had gotten more than one, but I'll make do some other way. Perhaps next year I'll be luckier.
