I miss Gaile Gray
I do!
I miss the very open display of dedication and involvement that was Gaile Gray.
After Gaile left we got this "Regina Buenowhatever" person as CRM... She did a few wiki updates and also posted here on occasion when the manure went airborne, but apart from that - No action, reaction, response, whatever...
After almost 2 years I do NOT expect, or even hope, that Regina will ascend to be anything comparable to Gaile. I just hope that Anet will realize the value a dedicated CRM such as Gaile.
(Regina, feel free to bite back if I offended you. Any kind of interaction/response on your part will be an improvement in my book.)

No offense to either but, id much rather see Regina's posts that actually convey SOME info, be it good or bad, unlike Gaille's usual random chat about nothing..

This. i prefer getting some facts about what's going on rather than have an anet employee dodge the topic and chatter about inane bullshit.

It's quite clear that both Regina and Martin are incredibly busy with Guild Wars 2. That does have an impact on the level of communication here, but it's not intentional neglect.

I do miss Gaile yes, the style she used and her presence in general. Mike O'Brian, Patrick Wyatt and Jeff strain are like the fathers of GW and Gaile is like the mother.
That said, I do think that even though Regina uses another style, she's involved too and follows the forums on a regular basis, although you don't see her unless news or a problem turns up.

I wouldn't directly blame Regina, it's not like she gets to decide exactly what she does. She's doing her job, she reports to higher authorities. Probably people who have never even played Guild Wars.

So... They are unintentionally busy with GW2?
Sorry, but not having a present and involved (beyond a single fansite forum) CRM, seems a bit cheap for a game that is still being sold and marketed.
@Del/Maxxfury: Fair points, But: Please consider the 'reach' of the communication.

No offence to Regina but I miss Gail too she at least talked to us a few times a day yeah i know info was not always correct lol
She was doing her job way better than Regina is in actualy "talking" to the player base about dev things and from her point of view just playing as one of us
and things she would like to SEE happen/change in the game.
I miss the conga lines too

ID rather they were actually working on the game and informing us when needed instead of pretending to be a frog, taking gifts from players and chatting away about stuff of no relevance...
Regina gets us more relevant info and feedback than gaile ever did, most of gaile's chat seemed to be just that..chat. She was nice enough and all but meh.

Loved Gaile. Even had her on my friends list(we spoke in beta) and talked to her regularly for a while. I don't know Regina, but she doesn't post in any meaningful way that makes me want to .(NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo offense to her. She has a hard job, we can all agree. Forum kiddies are a tough crowd )

There are a number of people who will say that while Gaile spoke more often, she rarely said anything new. At least Regina gets something out when there is something to say.
I would like for there to be more to say, but I'm blaming the people in charge of anet for that and not her.

Um....Gaile's still around. As a matter of fact, she responds more often than any other Anet employee on her GWW talk page (around once a day or more). And hell, she's been doing a lot of CR with all the security concerns lately.
And everyone else is right, even though Gaile may appear to care more than Regina does, we didn't actually get any more facts than we do now.

But as also said before, it's not their fault. If they're not being told what the live team is working on, or if they're not allowed, there's nothing they can do. A PR doesn't produce content for the message, they simply mold it in words. If there's no contect to work with, there's nothing they can tell us.

Sometimes appearances are more important than not saying anything. Gaile at least gave the appearance that anet cared about the gw community. With RB, it appears they don't give a frak about the community.

Regina almost always posts in the more important threads in Riverside, and is a frequent reader of the forums. Also, she is clear in giving out information, and very responsive. Don't forget that most of "her" failures are actually the fault of her superiors, who tell her what she can and cannot do.
She does a terrific job.

I haven't seen Regina rage all over some forums...so I'd say she's doing a little better.

Just have to say is Gaile is still an Anet employee and never left the company. She got a promotion, the "Farewell To Gaile" event I think confused some people. It's not her job anymore to communicate information or chat with us, but she does anyways from time to time, in or out of game because Gaile is awesome.
Regina does her job, and DOES IT WELL. It's not her job to be your friend. All her job in tells is getting on all the community/social websites and relay information making sure people understand what is going on.
Sorry you didn't get Gaile version 2.0 but, this post kind of annoyed me.

Lol, what brought this on? Gaile has moved to a different job in ArenaNet and Regina took the old one of CRM. Regina does a great job. Her style may be different, but she is very responsive. All ANet employees that are in contact with the community have always been great.
@Chocobo1 - I believe that playing the game on a regular basis is a employment requirement at ArenaNet, or it used to be.
