First one, I will give you that.

How did the Mursaat know that Khilbron was the Lich? I mean, he had a lot of people fooled up until the end. There is a chance that they could have handed it over, not knowing.

The only sacrifice that is good is in the act of kicking their ass and shutting them down, not being shady and killing those who didn't volunteer.

Lets see, we killed the Lich, which closed one door, wiped out the titans that came through, then went through Elona into the Realm of Torment and finished the job on the other side. I would say that is pretty permanent. Or, at least a lot more permanent than sitting on our hands and sacrificing some others every so often to save our own asses

Actually, no, they didnt keep the titans from killing people. a little thing called the searing is proof of that. I will however give the royal family fleeing part, though technically Salma wasn't part of the royal family at that point

The Mursaat were more powerful than the Charr too, hence the Charr's defeat. The Charr aren't the kind of race to take one setback and walk away, evidence being how long they wailed at the wall till the Titans helped them out, and I doubt the Titans would have sent the Charr to Kryta without some kind of help, so the Mursaat must have had enough power to take on the Titans themselves.

I am wrong? The amount of undead is only limited by the corpses. With the kind of power the Mursaat had they would have limited the casualties and I am pretty sure got close to exhausting corpses to the point where the undead would have to rely on 1 or 2 bodies a day, if lucky. And now you also bring to light the one thing with the Mursaat that is everything wrong about them: they were too worried about their own asses because of some prophecy rather than doing something to actually fix it that the prophecy actually came about.

Given their activities of late, yeah I would say the Mantle are pretty corrupt.

I wont lie, the Mursaat did some good deeds, but their real motive was to cover their own asses cause of the Flameseeker Prophecies. They chose to accept it and manipulate others to try and put it off rather than face it and try and change their destiny.

As for the Mantle, instead of coming clean about their 'gods' (after they found out) they have tried to use fear to assert their waning dominance. If they had have taken the former route, I would respect them, as would the people of Kryta I think, but their choice to take the heavy handed approach is what makes me cheer on the Shining Blade

Yes, he fooled a lot of people, all of them Shining Blade, I saw no evidence that he'd 'fooled' the Gods, they are more than just 'people' after all. Your speculation that they would just hand it over is the same blathering one would expect from the Shining Blade, reckless incompetence with no foresight.

The sacrifices made KEPT THE WORLD SAFE, yes, it's unfortunate that a very few people had to die to ensure the survival of all, but it's not a situation created by the Unseen ones, indeed if your MYTHS are to be believed it's your false 'Gods' that created the whole mess.

As for killing the Lich and ending the threat once and for all... really? Where is the Scepter of Orr now? Another threat could rise up and take possession of the dread artifact and the prophecies could yet be fulfilled, all due to the bumblings of some Shining Blade dolts... Thank you for putting the world in even greater peril.

The Lich was just a puppet, a tool of a far greater threat to Tyria, the Unseen ones (in their wisdom) saw this, they are all seeing after all... not only did the terrorist interlopers not address the real threat, not only did they damage the defenses that kept Abaddon's servant's at bay, but they managed to lose the Scepter of Orr... at best they managed to postpone the threat, at worst, they weakened the defenses around the Door of Komalie and allowed the Scepter to once again fall into the wrong hands...

And yes, the Shining Blade are the 'wrong hands' as they've already demonstrated before... imagine the harm those scum will wreak with it next time, if it should fall into the hands of Livia or her fellow terrorists!

Of course they didn't protect the heathens in Ascalon from the titans... but then, they didn't try to protect them did they? The fools of Ascalon called out to their false Gods... and they got what they deserved, had they thrown themselves at the mercy of the true Gods of Tyria, our Unseen masters, surely they would have been spared, just as Kryta was spared. That is simple HISTORY, recorded fact.

Of course they would, the Charr hordes that have done nothing in their history but ravage the human lands once raged against Kryta too, you know... But the people of Kryta turned their back on your false deities and were spared, protected by the might of the Unseen ones. Ascalon clung to it's heathen worship of false idols, and paid for their ignorance with blood and ash.

The undead hordes are more than just the minions raised by some dabbler of dark and dangerous arts like Necromancy. These foul beasts are a curse upon the land of Tyria, that pour forth endlessly from the ruins of that shattered land once known as Orr, from the very City of Arah, once called The City of the Gods, the city of your false Gods that spilt this evil upon the world. Only Kryta stands between the endless undead hordes and the rest of the world, and only by the might of the Unseen ones do they prevail. What exactly have your false Gods done to stop this evil blight? Oh, nothing? ...I thought as much.

Given the sheer number of innocent supporters of the White Mantle that have been slain in cold blood, the amount of equipment, armor and other garb stolen by these 'terrorists' the Shining Blade, it's no wonder the White Mantle could be perceived as being corrupt by the short sighted and misguided... Our lands are plagued by bandits, murderers and terrorists... all wearing stolen uniforms and wielding stolen weapons... this is the way those scum in the Shining Blade operate, cowardly and using lies and propaganda as their weapons. Something needs to be done to protect the innocent people of Kryta from this evil scourge, and something WILL BE DONE... death to the Shining Blade, and all who aid them!

They Unseen ones chose to protect the entire world from dark forces bent on our destruction, yes, they did... History records that the Servant of Abaddon himself admitted to being unable to breach the defenses that our valiant knights had in place, to ensure the Door of Komalie remained sealed for the good of all Tyria... no, he needed the assistance of outsiders, heathens blinded to the truth, followers of false gods... those he could easily manipulate. The only lesson here is that heresy, the worship of those false Gods is far more dangerous to the safety of Tyria than most could imagine, something needs to be done about that, for the good of all Tyria!

Wait, come clean about what?

That our Gods are the reason why Kryta survived the Charr ravages, while Ascalon clung to the worship of false Gods, and fell to the beasts? We all know that!

That our Gods give us the strength and guidance to resist the Undead Hordes that spill from the very city heathens claim that their' Gods' dwelt in? We all know that as well!

That our Gods watch over and protect us, even from such far reaching and insidious evils as the machinations of the former Vizier of Orr? While the Shining Blade and it's supporters actively assist those who would destroy Tyria and rule over the ashes? Yes, you're right, every child should be taught that FACT from the youngest age.

Perhaps the Shining Blade should admit the truth about their false Gods and end this violence fueled by their heathen beliefs? Your False Gods do nothing to stop the undead hordes, and it may indeed be the worship of these false Godlings that gave rise to the undead horde that sprouts from Arah?

What did your false Gods do to stop the Ascension of the Lich to the Doors of Komalie? Absolutely nothing, which is understandable considering that they're imaginary beings... you cannot deny the existence of the Unseen ones.

Calling out to the false Gods of old did what to repel the Charr from Ascalon? Nothing at all! When Kryta heeded the words of the Unseen ones, it was spared from the Charr hordes, and has remained so under their benevolent all seeing gaze.

Yes, some Truths do need to be told. Cast down your false Gods and Obey the Unseen Ones.

PS: It's getting cold, somebody throw another heathen on the fire.

PvE content and characters without a proper background story are being recycled to make the game seem less dead and to probably cash in a bit on new costumes.

Who cares?

Yeah i would have rather seen some pvp content but we know that will not happen. Just talk some junk and pretend its early factions with kurz and lux just starting to go at each other.

Don't go to a forum if you can't take the extreme cynicism.

Well, the thirteen page thread (and the matching one at GW2 Guru with over 200 pages) would seem to suggest that some people do.

If you don't care, that's fine. You do not need to read about it, play it, or theorize about it.

It just comes off as a bit sour grapes to suggest that because you don't care, no one should. Why not just let us have our fun? It doesn't harm you any.

Hmm yeah that kind of sums up what i meant as well ;D. Maybe I chose my words badly, and i apologize for that ;P but I took ur comment as if u criticized anet for trying to keep the game alive since gw2 is coming out, and since they are planning to keep the gw1 servers up I think this is a great idea.

Does it harm you any if I complain about it anyway? I'm just that kind of person.

No, it actually kinda made me laugh.

Then I felt like a jerk for laughing at you, so I thought I'd mention how your comment might be perceived with irony in light of the thread you posted it on.

Stuff going on in Kryta = Only need to complete Prophecies.

Stuff going on in EotN (trial) = Only have to complete EotN

Stuff going on between Gwen & Thackery = Either Complete EotN OR have completed the Wintersday quests.

Anyone know if the bodies of the White Mantle cut down with arrows can be found in the explorable area Nebo Terrace?
