With good reason. Looks like the skill update is going to be at least another week.

Oh, also: monthly fee. It pays to not have your customers nerdragequit your game when you have a subscription, so maybe those companies would be a bit more inclined to grovel.

Try Blizzard. They do all of above. Turbine too, to a lesser degree.
Hell, even Mythic comes out and admits their fault and apologizes sometimes.
The same can't be said for Anet.
And re: Grovel. It's good for us customers if the companies think we're important. If you only stick with Anet you won't have any idea how you, as a customer, have some power in you because of the money you pay.
Look at how much brown-nosing people have to do to get anything out of Anet. Now, look at what people in WoW do.
See the differences?

You can't seriously be comparing Anet to Blizzard!

I don't really feel like going down to Cryptic, or Funcom. It would be, you know, too harsh.
But it does seem to be more on par.

Back to my topic after rading the uh debates. The main things to keep in mind are:
.We have consistently been let down for a good 2 years on updates. There have been many completely failed promises (like the quarterly updates)
.Anet have hyped something up for a few weeks that still hasn't really happened.
.Anet are damaging their credibility to act in a professional manner and still continue to fail with community support, when at this stage of the game it should be intimate with the long standing fan base.

And yet if they just out and released the lot of it at one, people would be complaining that they bombed through it too quick.
Seriously, 3 people, because that is effectively the guts of the Live team because the rest of the 11 are QA or web support, can only do so much. I see the fact that we are getting this content is actually a blessing considering that we know how few people are working on it and the fact they are focusing on making GW2.

It is understandable that they are understaffed, however, when Anet states specific dates and never follow through on them on a consistent basis (i'm not talking a few hours delay, try weeks) I fail to understand why I should express sympathy. Although the CR might get information back to the team quickly, it is the players that are out of the loop of what's happening on the other side. We were promised a more open company, but they haven't fulfilled my expectations.
I don't expect Anet to speedily release content for GW 1 to keep me playing, I expect them to follow up on their promises, in order to decide whether or not I should continue to support them through costumes, expansions, GW2, etc.

Man, I wish I could use the "understaffed" excuse at my job. I need to hire about 4 more people to do the jobs I currently have about 6 people doing; however, the state wont give us any more money (they'll publish journal articles praising us, but wont fund us Zzz).
Some days I really wish I could say, "I'm sorry, but we are currently so understaffed that we can't take this teenager. They'll have to live on the streets a few more weeks while we work to find a place for him/her."
Honestly, they would just take the kid to another RTC which would end up in more lost funds for us and the cops/case workers who brought them would stop bringing needy teens to us. Oh, hey...that sounds like GW2's business plan. Push everyone to other companies!

Excellent point. They did point black, no way to misunderstand, PROMISE to be more open with the community. This must have been immediately forgotten, because they've been just as ignorant of the community's concerns as ever. See that 30 page botting thread with not even an acknowledgment of our concerns? Or this thread........where we have no idea what's going on and where things are going?
We (or at least I) judge by actions, and choose how to patronize a company by how they treat their customers (this goes for all aspects of life).
