guess since linsey is back now and has been for most of the month, that they really werent planning any BIG revelations for this year's anniversary... WiK is just getting old now---very tedious with nothing but a few dialogues to watch (I have a tv if I wish to watch people talk to one another).

Yeah....now that you mention it, Linsey has been back for a while, huh? Maybe this is it. Maybe this is all the content they promised us. They told us it would all be out by the end of May and we're halfway through.....
So.....wow.....this is it.

Hmmm, to rub some salt in the wounds...it's obvious the Live Team isn't making content exclusively for GW1 anymore, they are making content that forms the bridge that'll lead us to GW2.

Y'know what though? It wouldn't have been all that tedious had the WiK thing started to roll out around the first of April. It would've gotten people jacked up for the anniversary. If they'd done it that way, and had the content ready to go by the end of last month, everything would've been fine.
Instead, we're heading for the ultimate anti-climax. Unless the new content is completely mind-blowing, it's going to look mucho lame-o after all this extra waiting around. I expect that's just what will happen - assuming that the only new stuff are those weapons that someone found in the dat file.

I don't know, maybe it's some form of expectation creep that came from the fourth anniversary content, perhaps it was self inflicted by the WiK 'viral' advertising... but I remember a time when the community would be thrilled merely by the addition of a handful of new weapon skins.
I'll admit that without some meaty content (read: PLAYABLE content) this whole WiK thing will seem rather hollow no matter how many dialogues we get to passively watch or how many shiny new weapon skins they want to throw at us.

Update - Thursday, April 29, 2010
Tyrian Events
With the recent declaration of war, there's been an upsurge of activity on both sides. Incidents with White Mantle Inquisitors have been reported from Scoundrel's Rise to Nebo Terrace. These interrogations and acts of oppression are likely a response to increased support among the populace for Princess Salma and the Shining Blade.
Automated Tournaments
* Updated the 2010 Automated Tournament Series Trophy in the Great Temple of Balthazar.
Bug Fixes
* Fixed a bug that caused Lesser Flame Sentinels in the Burning Isle guild hall to suffer excessive Health degeneration.
* Fixed a bug that prevented the "Limited Release minipets" option from displaying at the Monument to Devotion in the Hall of Monuments.
Update 2 - Thursday, April 29, 2010
Bug Fixes
* Fixed several incorrect skill descriptions.
Wow, you got two updates for the 5th Birthday... some people are just never satisfied...

It was canned and repetitive, see last 4 years and compare. I thought they could have done "something" I mean anything. If 3 people isn't enough to get anything done, add more people to Live team for christ's sake. I mean it isn't like they aren't a multi-million dollar company. Yeah, they are working on GW2, but we are all still stuck in GW1! Keep us somewhat entertained.
I enjoyed the monthly skill updates for the fact they flopped the meta in the faces of the ctrl+v kings from pvx. Even if they were buggy it was at least something different.

No. Nobody is "stuck" in GW1. And you can entertain yourself:
If you've exhausted GW1, find something else that entertains you, and come back when GW2 is out. No games last forever, and nobody should expect them to.
It used to be... you bought Game X... if it was good, you played it to death... then you moved on to another game. Some time later - years later even - a sequel would be released and you'd go "Yahoo! a new Game X". Why should it be any different now?
I see people who got 1-5 years of enjoyment out of GW1 and they STILL want more! And they complain bitterly about the updates drying up... and threaten to not buy GW2 because "it'll be just like GW1 - and I'll ONLY get 1-5 years of fun out of it". This is madness! The problem is not with the game, it's with people just don't know when to quit - they should consider therapy for their Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
I want A-Net to continue throwing everything at GW2. Because no update at this point is going to make GW1 fresh and exciting again.

You obviously missed my point. I have taken several 3-4 month breaks from guild wars since i have been here from the beginning. I have played other games throughout and the general quality of games is falling greatly due to the xbox kiddie nature of the gaming world. Make a crappy game, advertise the crap out of it, reap reward. See MW2 for details.
I was just pointing out it is a complete joke for them to constantly be pressured by the community for "anything". In return they put less people on the job than a city crew digging a hole in a street.
