I don't really see how it's that OP'ed.
In PvP it's 3 secs as far as I can tell and in PvE it's 4 secs, however you will have to make a "compromise build" if you want the full 4 seconds.
Again that's just my initial impression feel free to tell me why I might be wrong.

Well if you want to sacrifice your elite slot on it... Honestly the only self heal you've got is illusion of weakness... No way it could take the warriors spot or the likes... also this is pve only an area that the mesmer has been lacking in for about...... 5 years.. I think it's fair enough..
+ whitout an ias the iw build (your calculations are done with a full illusion bar nothing else) The damage compared to other builds is laughable...
It's still fun though

the reason behind my earlier post in this thread. we know shield and weapon armor bonus's dont count towards armor stacking cap, but where does the IW armor bonus fit in? does that count or not? does the armor stacking cap figure in after the bonus for how many illusion skills u have? if so could you imagine the possibilities of a profession like the Ele abusing this? ive come up with an E/Me build that could have 178 armor if the illusion skill armor bonus doesnt count toward the armor cap.

good analysis Willow -- it's a balanced elite, since it funnels the entire build into Illusion skills, which means no PvE skills which itself is a disadvantage. And Illusion is a generally a pretty weak attribute, since you'll be spending much of your time recasting, and not attacking. Maybe the best use of IW is to go tank, cast spells as a front liner. And using a weapon means you won't getting the best casting mods, and won't have that much energy. I say it's balanced.

I'm guessing they intentionally nerfed Sliver Armor and disguise it as a "bug fix" to highly discourage solo farming.
I'm guessing Spiteful Spirit, the W/N raptor build, and vaetirr farming is next.
They have a clear message now, ArenaNet is against solo farming in all forms.
Great, how am I suppose to farm the Scar Eater now? or Woe Spreader (staves for Discordway heroes)? Oh wait, the later is IMPOSSIBLE to farm after that SF nerf.

For the most part, yes. But I am using that Necro SV build for boss farming now, but only limited to the ones at the Kurzick areas.
I still really can't find a build that serves as an alternative to farming the Woe Spreader (i need to farm three more of these staffs for my PvE warrior that will replace my PvP only warrior for discordway builds). It's really impossible to farm that boss ever since the SF nerf considering 1) they have interrupts, and 2) they have nightmare weapon which can kill the 55 SV necro in one hit.

Dervish and Assassin are able to survive as melee classes with 70 AL armor. The change to IW can allow the Mesmer to have better armor than either of those 2 classes and still make use of and IAS and/or PvE skills. Toss in something like Blessed Insignias for +10 armor, and take IW, IoW, both Visages, and IAS (Flurry), and AoE attack (Cyclone Axe) and 2 PvE skills are you still have 60+20+10=90 AL, and that is without a shield. Not saying it is the best option, but the ability to stand in melee range is now a better option than it has ever been for a Mesmer.

You do know that h/h affect drop rates even when you flag them.
Anyways, I did try SoS spamming Woe Spreader. It is a pain in the ass as the Naga keep killing off the spirits. I was thinking of the 55 SV necro, but interrupts and Nightmare Weapon (which is capable of killing the 55 monk/necro in one shot) are something to consider.
Again, I'm really out of options. Now that sliver armor is nerfed, there is no way I can farm the Scar Eater (I normally farm his staff for my monk heroes BTW).
Again, when it comes to farming, I prefer doing it solo without h/h and in HM (since the chances of getting a green weapon increases from my experience).

dump flurry, add in the PvE skills, drunken master for increased movement and attack speed and great dwarf armor for the +24 armor and +60 health, bringing you to 114 armor then add shield for 8 more to 122 armor. oh and if anyone hasnt noticed yet, "By Ural's Hammer" does add more damage to IW. i tested that last night when i did the quest to get great dwarf armor. with 15 in illusion i was doing the base 40 damage for IW and Ural's hammer brought the damage to 50

Great Dwarf Armor doesn't stack with the armor from Illusionary Weaponry.

No it doesn't. If they are greyed on the radar, it's the same as a solo farm when it comes to a weapon drop.
