bots farming war supplies---geez someone went to a lot of trouble to get a character that far---guess if its profitable anything will be exploited somehow.

/signed... last night in HA at least 2 mes ruptbots in no more then 1 hour and sadly one of them was used by a nice ranked guild.

Most of the guys I know that are botting War Supplies are doing it on their main accounts. They aren't scared of getting banned anymore, because they know Anet doesn't care. And, really, they just repeatedly run Captain Falcon (or w/e) with a hero build, so it's pretty repetitive and it would be hard to catch.

Getting 350 War Supplies while afk over 12 hours seems like it would be a dead giveaway, but none of them have been banned yet. Hell, one guy even dared me to report him with screenshots of our conversations in-game. I did, and he's still playing.....so.....

She was responding to her talk page about once a day up until the bot topic was added. We haven't heard from her since. I have a feeling that's not a coincidence.

Or maybe she doesn't want to say anything until they have something to say (like some form of a solution), but that would take months....

From what I hear, Harboe and some of the other botters already have plans for GW2. Considering the talent involved in botting GW, if they don't do something to prevent it, there will be bots all over GW2 w/in a week of release.

And, that's not even mentioning the fact that GW1 full HoM accounts will be sold for real life money. Making another game is not a solution. It's only another problem, unless this is fixed.

The only way to really stamp that out is by putting some sort of a time limit on how long you can be on at one time each day. w/o bots running 24/7 they wouldn't be as effective as real players. Of course, that's not going to happen. Are you willing to go that far?

Or like the method used to combat spam. Repeated keystrokes.. pop up, "type this text within ten seconds or be kicked offline for a day." Next time, a week. I would, I don't care...

But beyond that you can't really expect anet to stop them. I am a critic of anet usually, but this is a losing battle. You just have to let it go.

In pvp, there will always be exploits. It ranges from exploit-level builds to all out hacks.... you'll see it in any game. You gotta learn to take a loss. Or you gotta just plan on running into it and build for it.

There is a purity in competition, for sure, but if you are doing it on a computer, you gotta learn that some people will find a way that you can not beat them. It has nothing to do with them being better than you; there's always a loophole. Accept that. Gvg w/ guilds you know don't bot. Or just take the loss and move on. It's best to laugh "lol, nubs botting"

there is no question why there has been a noticeable increase in botting in the last couple months...

anet went over the line destroying established gameplay instead of adding new content to change and balance the game.

so all the people that was laughed at for QQ'ing.. just said screw it.. and adapted...

In an amusing side-note. It would seem that by failing to effectively deal with botters, NCSoft has inadvertently launched a denial-of-service attack on itself. I would assume the fact that all of my e-mails to support have been bouncing back to me are a result of people emailing in massive amounts of bot reports. Either that or NCSoft has finally thrown the 'gored engine' switch and packed it in.

I think part of the problem that people don't understand with botters is that we're not dumb, farm-oriented people. And we're not closed off, either. If you know where to find us (which isn't too hard), we're very open about everything.

These are actually methods that have been used before but the botters/macroers found ways around them. The having to type in a message one was actually the most effective one but it really annoyed the real regular players.

I've always suggested having to click on a box in the window and it randomly moving around the screen each time it opens. That way no bot program can be setup to click that certain spot in the screen to get their reward or answer a popup question click. They've never tried that though. This was a suggestion of how to stop leeching in FA and JQ as when the match is over everyone would have to go click a spot that popsup on their screen to get the faction. A bot or macroer wouldn't know where to go click because of the random placement on the screen. That's how those leechers get in the matches in the first place the damn "ENTER" button is ALWAYS in the SAME PLACE on our screens.

Other things to use are 'text' messages that tell the player where to go to get their reward and then plant a ton of fake chests in the zones so the bot program will waste time trying to open the right one. lol This has always been my favorite one.
