I just went thru what you need to do to get the secret passage and entrance to the new LA part.
1 completed prophecies or eye
2 finished the thacky/gwen arc including the part where evennia shows up
3 watched zinns trail
4 listened to 3 reg dialogs at the bakhu camp as well as livias return with the 2 asura.

then I finally got the passage and new LA. what a way to spend my friday night

This needs special page on wiki. The "war in kryta" and "guild wars beyond" page are full of back side info that's not useful in gameplay (like facebook updates etc). Need just a game related walkthrou. I've feed trackey with stuff he asked, seen his and gwens dialog, seen 3 dialogs at dakutu, watched zinns trial but i have no idea where is dialog with evennia and when does livia come with 2 asura.

Btw any idea what was exactly that second update 1 hour ago?

after you give thacky the last item he talks about needing to get the girl...then he has his last dialogue with gwen in the HoM....
the 2nd dialogue at dakhu with salma, evennia and livia says they are going to go and try to get recruits (livia goes to rata sum but never gets there, evennia goes to eye (I saw the dialogue with evennia/thacky/gwen et al after I saw the 3rd dahku dialogue).
Livia shows after you do the zinn trial. Evennia shows after you listen to the dialogue about her going to eye.

(I will assume the 2nd update had a fix for livia who seemed to have gotten stuck around the secret passage, though 50 files is a lot for just that---).

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the War in Kryta has been mainly marketed towards the "hardcore" on the forums. A lone person figuring out what to do from scratch (especially at this point) would be ridiculously difficult.

I just hope they allow anyone to do whatever actual content they implement, or we're going to have a LOT of people in LA spamming "where do I find Salma/Gwen/Thackeray/XX" semi-literately.

I was just lucky to have had a few ciders left over from thanksgiving TO finish the thacky/gwen arc (I dont believe in making the rich richer so I wont buy them).

I am not a hard core person, but I had the 1st prerequisite (finishing proph or eye) and had done the gwen story so I thought I would see what exactly was needed to get the "new content"....took me a better part of an hour to get thru all of that, ZZzzzz.... and it was a bit of a let down if you ask me.

There are TOO MANY waste-of-time dialogue steps required for this. Didn't I just read a GW2 article where they claimed that all this NPC dialogue quest crap was a boring part of MMOs? Why didn't the GW2 team yell down the ANet halls to the GW1 team to knock this crap off?

Because making actual cinematics is much harder i think. It's way to easier to write a few (hundred) lines and pop couple of emotes of npc. Cinematics are much more fun but as usual live team probably doesn't have resources and time for that. They only cinematic scenes you'll see is at zinns trial as transitions. (the one where that asura calculates some stuff)

I don't care about cinematics and stuff like that. I'm just saying that they should've kept this minimal, not more than a handful of mundane steps. If it turns out I have to do all of this on every character to access whatever this is leading up to, well, ...... no thanks, lol.

True, i won't bother to do on other chars just on main.
But they have to tell some stories cause there would be too much gaps in gw2.
I said before, the ultimate thing they could is that they introduce ebonhawk fortress in gw1.

Character based access, have to have given Thackery all the things for the picnic(hard apple cider easy to get - not).
So because I didn't hang on to 1 item from whatever event I can't complete this story. Don't mind going out and farming for stuff - but something that drops only at certain time(s) is just bad.
So my interest is whaning in this - too much time running around for???
The idea and concept is good - execution could use a tune up here and there.

All those dialogues are a massive TIME SINK.
I really hope going through all of this won't be required to participate in the War when it finally starts, it will be a major pain to go through it on all characters.
