yeah news flash, there aren't as many peoples as there used to be!
seriously, everyone knows this.......Anet knows this.....they have the vast majority of their resources working on GW2, with a small team working on WiK. The very just mass ban brought down an already low population. Necessary.
Ooh look, a shiney!

because its the same people.
scenario:
1.bot the crap outa hfff on 10 accounts.
2.get 2 million gold per account, 10 maxed kurzick titles.
3.take 2 weeks off to develop better bots.
4.use sneaky bots.
5.not getting banned?
6.bot on all 10 accounts, 24/7
7.amass ridiculous riches
8.realize ecto sells $30 a stack; poor again.
9.repeat.
10.oh no im banned. oh well made 1000$

As many other players would agree - WE bought the game to Play and what titles we get we get through our own work and toil.
Why buy gw to let a program do it for us - wheres the enjoyment.
Infact why buy a game that obviously you cant play without needing help from a bot where others seem to be able to play and cope with ?
Anet good going and lets hope bots are going to become a dying thing and welcome to real players who play

1) Because I am not those other people who says bot is bot.
2) In my humble opinion, I think that only when you violated the rules, and with that violations, it created griefs and manipulated the PvP results, than it warrant a perma-ban. LIKE SYNC (hint arenanet GIANT HINT)
3) To OP, bots were never a part of the community.

Generally... good luck GW community. - What's left of it, that is.

Now don't quote me here but I get the impression that your not happy, but if I am right then just move on get a new game and be happy.
Seriously it's not a big deal its only a game and you must have well got your moneys worth in play by now.
Dying game ? well maybe yes maybe no but its been a fun ride.
Given the decision to change from updating gw1 and adding new content twice a year to starting from scratch with a new game, I think they did pretty well.
Sure they have screwed up occasionally but what company doesn't.
There are few games that I am still playing 4 + years on and its also one of the few games that have had constant additions modifications.
Whereas there have been many many games that I have bought that have been bugged so badly that playing them was a nightmare, some of those never got an update or fix at all.
Count yourselves lucky you bought GW because compared to other games out there this one is a gem.

No. I moved on to other videogames. Not to a software to play in my place.

Without enough content updates, or micro-transactions, or anything that normal, successful MMOs employ to keep their game active, this game died out. 15 minute zaishen wait times in HA, empty districts in PvE zones, etc... BEFORE the ban-o-mania. Just imagine what the future months will behold.
|
/fail.
I didn't bot, but I knew the site where this game revolution botting was happening (hint).
I saw the instructions to set up a bot, and they were nothing transcendental.
I saw the bot scripts on that site free to grab, and I left them there anyway.
Last week, you were botting, I was not.
Now, you are banned QQing for your GWAMM, I am not.
Don't try to hide the botting cheaters behind the "everyone was doing that, and the ones who weren't doing it just didn't know how, otherwise they would have joined the botters". It is a lame excuse.
I feel happy for not having botted, even if the bots were a couple of clicks away from me, easy to get.

Yup, that's griefing, some find it fun, some others find it lame.
Hope you had enough fun. Now, watching botters rage and whine over their lost accounts is even more entertaining.
Please pass the popcorn. More tears are coming. QQ.

That's not a valid reason to bot.
No videogame is forever. Which game do you pay once and play for more than 5000+ gameplay/5 years? It is inevitable, sooner or later you will run out of content and need to move along. MOVE ALONG.
(and that doesn't mean "bot", means "find another game/hobby". GW isn't the only game on the market.)
After 5000+ hours of gameplay? ROFL. Were you expecting the game to keep you entertained forever?
3700 is a small percentage of players, and the kind we don't need.
To all the botters: enjoy your well deserved ban.
We will enjoy our clean accounts.

Wait, half of Guild Wars community, or half of the GW botting community?
If you meant the former, then... lol, you're an idiot.
If you meant the latter, then... lol, good start Anet, halfway there!

Fail, seriously it has been mentioned often enough here on guru (where to get the bots) and more famously on other forums... and then there is Google, anyone who had the slightest inclination to bot GW didn't have to look very hard... but, as unbelievable as it might sound to you, some people CHOSE not to bot for reasons that are probably beyond your comprehension but could be summed up simply as "they aren't cheating scumbags".
So much useless rant, all as an excuse for why you botted? Sad.
Oh well, thanks for the post.

Damn, if only that were true... it would be one of GW2's biggest selling points...
Guild Wars, newer, better, and now with less scum bags! I'd buy it.

At that point ArenaNet is given a choice. Do they kill the botter and ruin the fun of one single person by removing him from the game? Or do they allow the botter to continue frustrate others, potentially driving them away from the game?
The no-griefing ideology of ArenaNet dictates that the monopoly of removing people from the game rests among them, not the botters.
One could point out that ArenaNet does still not care making PvP participation fun enough for people to care, but at least they regain their monopoly.

No one who used a bot should be "arguing" their point of view on here. This is not anet. This is not NCsoft. Stop looking for sympathy and accept the fact that you broke the rules that EVERYONE clearly knows of. You all deserved what you got.
Also, even after all the stuff you complained about, 100k says you'll still get gw2 ;]

If this is your way of thinking then you're deillusional.
It's certainly not hard to find bots if you wanted, as a programmer I could even make one myself. That does not mean that I felt any need for it.
