Actually , the last update we had in Heroes Ascent ( not about skills/builds) is the add of NPC's after a strange contest , and the previous one was about 2 years and half ago....
Test Krewe team has apparently many people who still do GvG , thus it could maybe explain the "only gvg updates " ..

Eh, RA does get some attention in skill updates *cough*BSurge*cough*. As for "actual" updates, what else can you do for RA? The objective is simple: kill the opposing team, that's it. Apart from adding a new map, there's not much else that can be done for the format. AB is pretty much the same.
Pretty much the biggest problem format is GvG, because the rules there are so much more complicated than any other format. It doesn't help that it takes forever to get a game, so when you have a bad match it makes it even more depressing...but that's a population problem, not really something you can fix with an update.

i also find it funny that you seem to intentionally leave out ha, and skip right to the "shitter" formats. although its funny because i would consider fa/jq/codex the true "shitter" formats, yet these formats seem to receive more updates than ra/ab.
a bit unfair, since anet specifically was biased in choosing gvg players in the formation of the test krewe (if my sources are correct).

PvP'rs actually know the game in and out and its mechanics. PvE'rs are (generally) whiny brats that have no idea what they are talking about. You don't need to know much about the game in order to be able to make a pve fix (i.e fixing shadow form).

Sure you do, you have to think of a way to keep change from pissing off too many PvErs and making them rage quit because they can't think of anything else.
OT:
I don't see why giving GvG a little love is so disgusting to people. There was just a huge content update for PvE, don't think that as we are bickering about this that the Krewe has more pve content planned out in the near future.

i don't know why you quoted me because i didn't mention anything about pvp'rs vs pve'rs.
anyways, i don't exactly agree with not having to know much to fix pve. sure its a lot less than pvp, but you still have to understand quite a bit. it actually takes quite a lot to "balance" pve--the difference being though is that "balance" is not required to "fix" pve, whereas in pvp balance is pretty damn important.

so sad, but true. people want broken imbalanced shit in this game if it means they can get more wealth/titles. most pver's quite frankly don't give a crap about balance.

I quoted you because you said that it is biased that GvG'ers (aka the knowledgeable people) get picked for the test krewe.

Yes because when you take away God mode from people of course they will be a little pissed. You get so used to playing one build you become lost trying to think of something till you overuse a new build made by someone else. By changing and nerfing builds they are keeping game content fresh.

That's the problem , usually they don't do it right .
Pve : Ursan nerfed after 1 month , while Shadow form is still usable after 1year and half .
Pvp : the only way was to update n/rt or el/rt healers , but they kept touching assassin skills , thus replaced with other build...
Aswell , like someone said , we're still waiting that map in HA.
You wonder if they seriously play the game when you check some updates ( like this one with codex skills or henchman contest )
I do agree GvG people might know more than other about the game , but it's more likely because People who do play GvG now are people who play it for years. If you look Mats , it's almost always same guilds which are playing. Things weren't made so newcomers/less exped people get even a chance to become good .

I'm quite surprised to see people complain here about gvg getting an update.
PvE has gotten a lot of extras recently. (War in Kryta, festivals, ... )And "nerfing PvE builds just to get PvP sorted out"? The only skills being used by decent PvE'ers/guilds are the PvE only skills. Let alone the fact that there are PvE versions of skills. (I don't think I'll see anyone in GvG use Signet of Spirits anytime soon...)
Besides this game is still called *guild* wars and not *farm* wars. GvG is still the format that seperates this MMO from others.

I don't see a problem with that. Both changes put players in a situation where they had to adapt and create new builds/modify their previous build which will keep the content fresh as things will have to be done differently.

Just think, if it is always the same guilds, is it because gvg isn't made to welcome newcomers or because the newcomers are not welcoming gvg?
Its always the same guilds why? Because those are the only guilds that worked hard to pass the boundary between being less experienced to being experienced. There are hardly any new guilds because no other guild is willing to work hard in order to succeed. It's not because gvg is not made for newcomers, all the guilds that do gvg now were once newcomers. So it ain't impossible. It may be harder than before but its certainly still possible.

Quoted for emphasis.
If people are interested in GvG it's really not difficult to take a little iniative, get 7 people together (as well as network for guests) read up on the basics, obs some games, and start playing.
The bottom end of the ladder (and off ladder) is actually one of the most active area's of the game, or it certainly used to be.
