ArenaNet would only use reports to check on your character's behavior. It is not an automatic one report and you are banned. They are well aware that many players make reports as revenge for losing.

wait, what?
whenever I was whining that I got banned and I wanted to appeal to further institutions to clear that out, all I got in return was some quote from their EULA, saying they reserve the right to ban anybody without any given clause. So?
@ OP, don't worry, just because those whiners are gonna threaten you with that, you're not gonna get banned. People get reported everyday because of haters, and they're still around.

I pretend to be a bot these days, I wish I could remember how many times I've heard people say they're reporting me.
It's so entertaining.

it'll be fine for you ^^! unless loads of the team report you, then they'll all get dishonourable points, while you'll be fine. i got kinda shocked when me and my friend did 55 and 600 monks in AB for lulz (and did quite well) and some dude report me for leeching when we were clearly playing the game?
although there was another thread where me and other paranoid people posted about randomly running in circles every few minutes to show we're not bots XD.
still effective for scaring people away from botting i guess?

Just because you knew what you where doing and winning doesn't mean you'll get banned. Those players where just bitching because they where losing so they tried to scare you off. Good chance they where trying to manipulate the match in some way before you came along.

Mesmers are a bit OP in pvp; mesmer is a class, what makes your enemy VERY angry...you would be angry if other mes interrupts your every spell or attack xd To make them more angry, write "lol" , "rotfl" or "owned" after you pwned your enemy. Then they are crazy and /report you xD

I knew someone would come with such a reaction. They probably had a good reason to ban you, so?

Just as long as you're not superhumanly good at interrupting 1/4 cast spells, or landing 100% of your interrupts on recharge. It's just inhuman to, honestly.

ive read most of this and almost laughed at the stupidity of some players .
How many of us pm a bot to tell it we`re reporting it ?
Does it care ? Will it reply ?
Worse is the idiots in pve ( not all are in pvp ) who see ur 55 monk then assume you are a bot - say it in local and even after you have spoken to them saying ur real and after lengthy chat they still think ur a bot.
Never known bots to chat with you - usually they run a set path , get stuck in places and so on , dont know many of us human players who fail to walk out an outpost without hitting a post and trying to get past when they cant.

I like when people complain that you're a bot...
Cuz, let's be honest, who would sit at their computer and watch a bot? Isn't the point of having bot is so it does stuff while you're gone?
If they complain you're a bot, then they deserve to lose for thinking a bot would read the text....and respond.

Last time I checked bots were sometimes 'herded' ... there is usually a 'chieftain', preferably a player attempting to be afk, checking the district bots are pumping out from for 'undesirable elements' that could interrupt the business or worse, mass-report precious bots. I had quite a decent fun once and actually got to chat with the 'chieftain' as well. He was quite angry and delighted at the same time that players are finally able to link event a and event b after round five years (event a - too many real players pop up in a certain bot-infested district and don't enter the zone, event b - 'chieftain' plus all of the bots he was 'herding' move onto another district, usually empty one ... like Russian or Spanish).

typical bad players - they need a good excuse for losing cause obviously the only way they could lose is because the other guy is cheating, right?
You won't get banned cause of that.

Botters can chat with you, but typically not the bot script itself [not in a coherently or reactionary manner anyway]. I've reported some SF elementalist botters in Random Arenas before, and at one point he actually responded after repeated accusations with, "lol", and continued botting. Botters bear no shame, nor care of how they impact the game. All they care about is reaching their goals without any input or effort. I watched that SF botter ele reach rank 5 Gladiator before he suddenly stopped showing up [banned, I would hope...].
In summary though, botters can talk to you if they choose to, but it does kind of defeat the purpose of botting if the botter is at his keyboard chatting away.

Tell anyone who harasses you in this fashion that you are reporting them for malicious abuse of the report function. That should prove amusing. Don't forget to mention your screenshots of them threatening, harassing, and declaring their intention to file a false report because they lost. Fight fire with fire.

So a few hrs later I find myself in JQ on my Mesmer for double whine & smack talk weekend. So I set my bar up, basically a few rupts some enchant removal and a heal. Everything is going good, winning some losing some. Then alas the first of the whines come pouring in, "You're a botter", "Stupid Cheater" "I reported you for hacking" "Turn it off" The usual I can't finish a spell so this dude must be hacking kinda thing, Its like Deja Vu from Counter Strike days 10 years ago everyone is suspect. Then it moves from local to PM's "Enjoy your ban" bla bla bla.
I'd normally just ignore it, however the message at log in has me kinda paranoid. I invested a lot of time in GW and I'd hate to see it all gone to waste on silly accusations. Anyways just wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation while running any kind of interupt build.

DW. If they would just ban people because of accusations, I would have been banned a long time ago. A-net knows that there're a lot of people who thinks the worst of others in GW, simply because they put them in an unfavorable position, such as a Mesmer shutting them down lol.
They look more into it ^^ Mesmerise all you want
