Anet has already confirmed that whatever you get from HoM reward wise whether it be via titles or anything else, is not tradeable period and is tied to your character(s). So if your hoping for a nice little "sum" it aint happening.
So I guess Anet and GW2 will still remain dead for you old chap.

If someone buys GW to fill their HOM for GW2, then they deserve the items. I was talking about making them available to non GW players through the store, or other GW2 only means.
I'm sorry if I came off sounding differently. I don't believe however, that many people will actually buy GW once GW2 comes out for the sole purpose of getting these shinies, so it will still represent a history of achievement for those of us who have them.

We don't even know if the rewards will be worth getting yet. It could turn out to be the equivalent of collector's edition bonus items.

I'd like to hear you're thoughts on how much Anet should charge for 4 years of work or some GW2 idea that's equal to 4 years.
|
No, he's just clarifying something he said earlier about not wanting GW2 players to be able to obtain the rewards without GW 1

I also don't believe they should make them attainable by new GW2 players.... period. This is OUR "bonus" for years of dedication and hard work, and I will be seriously disappointed if people who have never played a minute of Guild Wars will have the chance to "buy" these things... whatever they turn out to be.

ie, shoyon456 wants to sell his GW1 account info to someone who wants to 'link' it to a GW2 account so they get shinies..
Something I hope A-net won't allow, but in the real world I don't see a way they can stop someone doing this if they so desired.

Your deeds from the original Guild Wars campaigns will be commemorated in the Eye of the North expansion in your Hall of Monuments. The Hall of Monuments will reflect the achievements you earn in Eye of the North as well as those earned in Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. You will even be able to show off your hall to friends. Then, when Guild Wars 2 arrives, each of these monuments will correspond to special features your Guild Wars 2 characters can “inherit” from your own legendary past, giving you access to exclusive titles, companions (Heroes and pets), weapons, attire, and miniatures. These inherited items are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to acquire them.
|
Just ignoring player speculation, this is what they promised us when we bought guild wars eye of the north.

I am thinking that the 'points' will work something like this:
5 monuments, each worth say 5 points each. For each hero up to 5 you get one point, ditto on the armor, for the weapons the first doesnt count then for every 2 you get a point. for the minis (seeing as you get a mini for doing absolutely NOTHING ingame every year--if your character were 5 you would have 5 minis, have 4 characters=20 minis for just keeping your toons for 5 years....that is just for having one chapter)...so each mini would be worth .25 or 4 minis=1 point. titles--5 titles get you 5 points.
so a full hall gets you 25 points.
(or that is what my brain came up with while I was trying to get a nap--)
of course this means that all minis are worth the same, all armors are worth the same...etc ....and the max reward would be 25 points. plain and simple (for us non math peeps)

Account with multiple GWAMMs
All I want to know is how will people be rewarded for finishing multiple GWAMMs on the same account. Will they be rewarded the same as those with a single GWAMM?
There must be some provision to reward more points to those who maxed multiple characters. Currently, HoM does not reflect this...
P.S. Why Multiple GWAMM? Because ANET is late with GW2 and there is nothing left to do in PvE other than play different charcters through.

Considering that the HoM is account-wide now and that it's a point system, then....yeah, probably.

It depends on your definition of playing "different characters through" I would say that most people who play gw aspire to getting GWAMM on one character. In all honesty I doubt very much that you will be rewarded for getting GWAMM on 4 different characters.
Since HoM is account wide I doubt filling out multiple HoM will give you x 4 amount of points the any other normal player who reaches GWAMM and fills out there HoM. Thats why I feel they made HoM account wide to make it just that bit easier for the more casual players. This is just my opinion not a fact.

More like false advertising, its no secret eotn is not even close to the size of a real campaign and its main selling point was the HoM.
But since they did in fact promise it, the people have a right to rage.

Bologna. When GWEN came out, they were very early in development of the game, and therefore had a lot of ambitions. Would you rather they sacrifice the quality of GW2 just to come through on some very early things they said they hoped to do? Everything is subject to change, and while we're free to feel disappointed, feeling cheated and "raging" is just plain immature.
For once, I'd like to see people at least give Anet credit for their intentions, which as far as I can tell are to make GW2 the best it can be.

Don't promise what you'd like to do, promise what you can do. When people pay for something, they should expect it.

Anet is able to make a next gen game from the ground up and yet simple HoM rewards are suddenly complicated?

Guild Wars 2 still has pets, and there may be exclusive pets awarded. So they could at least partially fulfill their "promise" on a technicality.
I never read any of those HoM descriptions as a promise, but rather as marketing and a forecast of future goals, goals which are subject to change.

You paid for GWEN, you didn't pay for GW2. I'm sure developers are still listening, but, a future product can change. I'm happy if there is a reason for those changes, and I'm sure there are.

You can't assume anything is "simple" when developing a game. Ask one of the designers how simple it is to get a decision on something pushed through, particularly on something bound to create different schools of thought.
