We are still pretty much alive in this game and nothing can heal and protect like we do no N/Rt and E/Mo which should be doing the ressing.E/Mo like to go up and tank the ones I have seen.Necros have better uses like using SS or MM.

Normally I don't have a problem. There are times though when I just have had enough.
-The nuker ele, spirit spam rit, melee healing monk, etc. who thinks they can all run into frontline and take it while us monks burn up our energy on them to keep their butts alive. Heaven help me when there is more than one in the party (and yes that has happened before).
- The over extender...I tell them a few times to beware of doing this as I can't be in two places at once. Die at your own risk.
- People who aggro more than one group constantly. This really annoys me, especialy in HM stuff. Also, when people don't give the puller room to do the pulling and they draw more groups...annoying.
Hmm, getting more into pet peeves now. lol. Anyway...
Like others have said, I don't leave them dead. I'm not gonna give them a free ride. I have left pugs (yes I used to pug most of the time) a few times which I hate doing, but it was just too horrible.
Anyway, there have been a few times I just get fed up with a person and their silly behavior/playing style, which makes things more difficult on the team. Then is when my monk vengeance comes out.

When your healing, the team is in your hands for better or in this case for worse. What times did your inner monk demon come out?

nice job...............its iddiots like that warrior that had me no longer playing with people other then guild or alliance mates since before nightfall came along. i had a warrior in factions while doing the arborstone mission who wanted to play healer but didnt let us know til after the mission started. his excuse was he didnt have max armor and was waiting til he was able to get 15k armor before buying max armor so he didnt want to play up front.

only because most people are toooo retarded to think outside of the PvXWiki box anymore when it comes to builds. the N/Rt and E/Mo only work well because of broken game mechanics. a simple skill nerf or 2 kills the E/Mo and the N/Rt only works well due to energy gain from Soul Reaping. ive never had a problem doing missions with a hero monk or henchie monk, even before all the henchies got their skill bars updated some.

As a monk I have never, ever pugged in PvE, nor will I ever do...
But in RA this one day I was on a team with a ranger, warrior and ele. First game we were against a team with 3 eles and a war, now as a monk in RA I had no hard prots so it was inevitable that someone was going to die, it just so happened to be the warrior. We ended up winning and the warrior calls me a noob monk, the rest of my team defend me but he is insistant that I'm a noob. Anyway, I ended up giving him no heals/prots for the next 8 matches. He died a few times and QQ'd about it but it made me laugh a lot.

I've been meaning to go back and play my monk with a new build. I mostly played with my guild so it wasn't so bad. The rare times I did take my chances with a pug and I've been lucky.
I usually can pick out the one in the party that will constantly need heals and I would usually just throw Prot Spirit on and keep an eye on him/her. I never had to rage but that's what you get when you don't test your patience.
This thread is why I never want to be the primary healer in a pug, running a (mostly) protection build is a lot less rage-inducing.

Decided plenty of times, as an ER, not to heal some crazy sins in UW Physway.
Those 12 year old narutards have some serious issues.. Ah well, I guess that's what you can expect from most of the pugs there I guess..

PUG Healing
Yeah, my main is a war, but I spend more time with my monk now. It wasn't until I started a monk character that I began to realize and learn how to be a better war. Now that I've played both sides of the fence (so to speak) I understand things a lot better. My inner monk meanness doesn't come out really unless someone repeatedly ignores suggestions that I make to them on how they can help me help keep them alive. If they don't listen, I'll just let them die and tell them to watch how the rest of the group is working together as a --team-- to get the job done.

It's funny when monking in PvE or low level PvP makes people think they're good. With some rare exceptions, the best PvE monk will be about equal to an average low-level PvP monk, and the best low-level PvP monk may be within the range of a below-average GvG monk.
INB4: when a champ range monk plays PvE or RA, he still counts as a GvG monk not a PvE or low-level PvP monk.

Ha! Best thread in a long time. I play all profs but prefer frontline. I know though playing support positions it's a pain when someone doesn't know how to play their part in crucial missions so yeah I agree you should find some way to let them know they're not appreciated.
I'm not sure I agree that not healing them is the best way but if making them feel unwelcome is your way of improving your team, go for it. Personally if it's not a critical point in the game I'd hold my own and carry them but in something challenging where the team needs to know their positions, then if they don't know how they play, why are you complaining when you bring them along?
Know your team and you'll be fine. If they screw around and waste your time, drop them or teach them, your choice. I wonder how people are gonna cope with healing themselves once all the monks are exiled in GW2, but spose that's a question for another forum...

Unless I know a player, I always prefer heroes or even henchmen for the backline (only in PvE, obviously) because of this very reason. Heroes and henchmen don't discriminate and they do their job.

If a player is being stupid they don't deserve heals, and this is coming from a good ole warrior who appreciates his monkies!
Oh and a quick question for Ninja Ninja, did a monk shoot your dog or something?

Nah
From a purely selfish standpoint, it is still within the best interest of the healer to keep the stupid party member alive. That party member presents an extra body that can draw random hexes/conditions and bits of damage to it. While one might think that a character like this would be an energy drain on a monk, I have found that it is far easier to manage energy when one party member is taking all the damage (ex: if a warrior is overextending). If a warrior is underextending (like the example in the OP), then they wouldn't be an energy drain anyway so there is no reason to let them die.
Plus, there really is no excuse to be an arrogant asshole over an online game. If a player doesn't know better or just wants to play around with a less-than-optimal build for fun... well thats still no excuse to be an arrogant asshole.

It pisses me off that its become the norm to fear your monks, I've been in doa runs etc and someone says one negative comment to the monk they rage quit every single time. If someone criticizes you suck it up and get over it.

When I do pug pve stuff
on my monk I don't really get pissed off or anything because its ridiculously easy, if people overextend then I generally don't heal them but otherwise im cool with stuff. Nobody ever complains about my monking but if someone was rude to me I'd defend myself, if he continued being a jerk though I guess I would leave.
In RA in the other hand there are so many terrible players that have bad positioning and don't kite that I usually end up arguing with someone terrible. If people screw up and it's gonna burn my energy/not worth it then i let them die and whisper them saying what they did wrong, if they accept it im happy and give them more advice. If they don't I still heal them but I don't say anything either. If I whisper them and they're offensive/rude then I stop healing them till they get the message
