I'm with Cosy on this. It's been.....a while. We could really just use something to help us understand that you guys are actually working.
I mean the dervish update was (supposedly) set to be here months ago. It's just getting slightly tiresome.
We don't need anything specific. We just need something to hope for.

more like throw us a bone and actually stick to what the bone says. i think more people will get mad if they get a bone and the bone is a lie then not getting a bone at all. xD

We don't need an exact date. We just need some hope.
A preview, a "we'll have [blank] somewhere before Halloween/Christmas", something. Hell, anything would help at this point.
Although, I don't think a dervish preview is possible. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the TK has even seen anything yet (besides ideas).

Formulated that vaguely = we already decided to not do it in most cases

How about a video of you all discussing ideas and or results from the survey? You do have meetings where you discuss plans etc right?
One question for you Emily: DO YOU PLAN TO INFORM THE NOT-FANSITE-VISITING-PART OF THE PLAYERBASE ABOUT THE SURVEY INGAME???????

I'm thrilled by the very fact that one the dev's are finally communicating with us.
A question for you, Emily: Have you guys considered giving the dervish class some reliable utility [i.e.: knockdowns, interrupts, stance removals, reliable enchanement removals, reliable anti-conditions/hexes, etc.]?

Haha, I doubt that will happen. If they already have "thousands" of replies, and only 6 people are going to read them, then I doubt they want to announce it in game.

Twitter and Facebook are always fansites, I don't think you can compare that to an announcement on log-in screen.
But...

It's a pity though. A link, or a some simple poll at the login would provide a wealth of information for Anet. If they made the questions a simple yes or no, they would have a clear indication of what their playerbase is thinking of this or that without putting a big stress on the Live Team.
To entice us to cooperate, they could even give you a free minipet as reward. What, a title track, with a +1 for every poll you've filled in

Poll taking is a pretty interesting art/science. You can easily gear questions in a way that helps you get the results you want.
However, the Live Team did a decent job of remaining unbiased. The last two questions were obviously leading, but at least they'll have varied responses.
Also, by using a scale, they will be able to find a decent medium of how everyone feels about their different questions. I have a feeling that a lot of the comments will get passed over (and I don't blame them). They will interpret the responses however they want. I just hope we get to see the results.

But to what extend will you follow up on the opinions given by the survey? I remember submitting multiple "creative" builds in the Hench contest, only to find that the winners were people that either directly copied or changed one skill from pvx, a fansite with builds that were considered "inelligible" by your (Anet's) rules.
I think that some of us (myself included) feel that you (the dev team) ARE going to read the surveys, but in the end will stick to your already-planned agenda and hush the fansites with "we're busy with other things."

Exactly what i was thinking of , i wouldn't have say it better . They will probably not even read the comments on the survey though in my opinion , and just make a summary poll , to know what people want , and even ....

Well put. This is only more reason for them to post the results. We've felt lied to too many times.

The survey is a nice way for A.Net to gauge the thoughts and feelings of the playerbase. I doubt all that much will come about as a result. Perhaps it'll effect which arguments and words the CR team will use to explain the actions of the dev team.

Agreed hate the use of FB and Twatter for announcements. Do not follow it and will not follow it.
If they are asking our opinion on GW:B for future content, well it shows you how far they have planned, not very far at all. There was no development plan for GW, just make it up as you go along and hence CR was crippled to inactivity regarding updates and anything of value.
Seen no reference to the new HA Map in anything recently that was announcend last year. Sickeningly disappointing to say the least.
Really poor CR, management and use of resources in terms of the output of updates. Now that would make for a better survey.

I have a feeling it'll go like this:
- Live Team has some ideas for GW
- They make a survey
- We take the survey
- They read the results of the survey
- They blame the delay of updates on their desire to incorporate our ideas from the survey into the game
- The Live Team just carries through on their old ideas and tells us that our ideas and feedback were nice but impossible to implement into the game
- ???
- Profit
